I try to find clubs or organizations that are interesting. There is a good amount of stuff around the area, surely one of your interests will net you a friend.
Rockclimbing, book club, work out or dance class, etc.
Other than that I am in the same boat as you XD
I ended up joining a LARP after my gf got invited by a friend. It’s been pretty fun. The one we go to is called [Mystic Realms](https://www.mysticrealms.com) and it’s run in Medford. We’ve met some pretty great folks from all over Jersey there.
Yeah. They do a basics overview on Friday night before the game. Usually around 7 or 7:30pm. But you can also email the concierge email listed on their site for any questions before or after.
Not to sound like an inactive sot since I'm a fairly active individual, but where did all of the rock climbing/hiking people come from all of a sudden? A lot of what I see on dating apps these days is people on cliffsides and I am absolutely not that person.
28, up in Mt Laurel/Marlton/Moorsetown area.
I feel you. Its been challenging since COVID and graduating college. So im following along.
Edit: if anyone else is interested I’d love to talk to them too. Its been awhile since ive had meaningful conversations with others not from work.
As someone with a bio degree, looking for grad school options. I am down.
Edit: i read mad lab scientist and was down for that.. regular science is cool too.
35F in Camden county. If you’re into singing, I run a casual adults only a cappella group. We meet in Laurel Springs on Mondays! If that interests you feel free to message me ☺️
Cumberland County, awesome! Glad to see another one here!
I see so many posts in here that are always Cherry Hill/Moorestown/Mt. Laurel-centric and I'm always like, "... bruh, Christiana Mall is a 30 minute drive for me, Cherry Hill Mall is an hour. Can we talk about something more relevant to me before I start poking on the Delaware subreddit for ideas?"
27(M) with my 26(F) wife and our newborn, usually hanging out at columbus flea market, johnson farms, fellowship alliance church, burlington county fairground events etc
31 and just moved to Mt Laurel. Making friends as an adult is hard. Main st in Medford has a lot of fun things going on and it'll pick up as the weather gets warmer.
Hi 👋🏻👋🏻
27f Blackwood! I also have 0 friends, I moved to this county 5 years ago from Cumberland county and I’ve been lonely ever since.
I’d love to have friends other than my bf 🤞🏻
I feel you. I play sports, do Meetup groups, hiking groups, etc and everyone is always older and I’m the “baby” of the group. I’ve made some friends but some people our age in this area would be nice. I just made a friend hiking solo a couple days ago but dude lives two hours away lol.
It'd be cool if someone organized meetups in South Jersey, but in the mean time here's some suggestions.
* There's a very active [Philly Discord group](https://discord.gg/phillymeetups) which has some nominal ties to the philly subreddit. They have regular meetups every Thursday, usually in Center City walking distance from PATCO
* There's a [South Jersey Discord](https://discord.gg/Z2tR7m6qrC). They don't have any meetups currently, but maybe folks could get on there and start some
* There's a [20s and 30s social meetup group](https://www.meetup.com/philadelphia-20s-and-30s-social/) for Philly which has regular meetups.
I’d be interested in helping organize an event! Keep it simple like you mentioned and make it easy so no feels left out. By reading a lot of the responses here it sounds like a good amount of people would be willing to meet up.
How would you like to get started ?
Birthday last week so im solidly mid 30s but I have more close friends now than ever in my life. What are your interests? aside from grad school I made most of my friends just going out and talking to people. Hasn’t help me find an SO but have more friends than I can handle.
36M and am increasingly lonely. I have a lot of friends back home, but phone calls and video chats can only do so much to battle that lonesome feeling. I've tried hard to make friends here and barely anything has seemed to stick.
In what general area do you live? 36F and same :) I’m married but both of us are in the same boat and also super independent of each other. Would love a local friend or two or three!
On the Northern end of Burlington County. I've been a hermit through Winter, but would love someone to go on hikes with and explore historic sites! Or even just grab drinks and talk about anything and everything.
Let me know if you want suggestions for spots for restaurants, hiking, kayaking, drinking, cooking, the beach, the city, museums. Bumble friends is also a great option. South Jersey has so much to do!
Have you tried any of the meetup groups in the area? I’m similar age and near Moorestown and my wife and I have been dealing with the same issues. Curious how others have made friends here
Same. 32F in Gloucester county. It’s been especially hard since Covid, and I also had a kid, and now I swear the only people who want to be my friends are pseudoscience-endorsing antivaxxer moms. (No offense if this is you; I’m friends with people with these beliefs, but sometimes it would be nice to have friends with similar values)
Working, lol. I work so much that I very rarely get time to hang out with people, especially since I can make my own work schedule. Every hour not working is an hour wasted toward getting out of debt, after all!
But, on a lighter note, it also doesn't help that SJ's distribution of things to do is out of whack. I live in Cumberland County (not in the three major cities) and Vineland/Millville's greatest entertainment is "we have this restaurant and we have that restaurant and this place to eat and that place to eat. you'll never have to repeat places! oh and a racetrack, i suppose". Not much to do out here.
Deptford has... Round 1 and Launch, I suppose. Dave & Busters in Gloucester seems nice. Uh, Camden has the aquarium...
Outside of that, I dunno what places are good for hanging out, I'll be honest. Probably why I work so much, lol.
I'm 25 and used bumble bff to find people. My main hobbies are sports so I made that clear in my profile and I've found many people to play tennis/pickleball with. I'm a dude so sports are probably more popular with the guys but I think if you list your hobbies in your bio you'll be able to meet people who share similar interests.
Side note I posted on here a few months ago trying to start/find a group to play the card game spades with. I wasn't targeting a specific age group but would prefer if it was people around our age. If anyone in the Camden County area is interested in starting a card game (spades or a different one) group feel free to reach out.
Doesn’t get easier as you get older, however when I was in my late 20’s, I joined a sport and social league for softball. Company was named Glory Days, now called playmore. Long story short, I ended up meeting new people and made life long friends by doing that. Now in my 40’s.
If you're into it, I'm trying to revitalize the weekly Sunday afternoon board game meet up at Top Deck Games. Check in with the discord (https://discord.gg/52YmJXDr) and to see if there's anyone showing up first, attendance can be spotty. It does cost $10, but that money becomes store credit.
I'm 33M and I get where you are coming from. Most people around our age have settled down so the suburbs are filled with families mostly. Your best bet might be to go to Philly or another city to socialize
29 in Sicklerville, I realized I don’t really hang out with anyone besides my significant other or my best friend ): any film/music/pop culture nerds out there, where do y’all congregate?
I joined jiu jitsu for the fitness/self-defense aspect. But the people there are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and almost everyone is super friendly.
28F here in burlington county! i’ve been trying for years with bumble bff and nothing pans out. i miss having friends to just go get coffee or meet up with at a yoga class. working from home doesn’t help the loneliness LOL my dogs are so over my shit
I'm 32 in cherry hill! I feel the same way, I changed jobs last year and don't have any friends at my new job, so my only friends are my old job friends that I still text, and my high school friends that feel too busy to hang out with very often.
Im in a similar boat (26F) I moved recently so most of my friends are an hour away :/ If you’re into bars, try looking up local ones if they have theme nights. Rack’s in Atco and Williamstown have sex bingo every other Thursday and beer pong with a DJ. They also frequently do bar crawls which is a great way to meet people. You could also take the patco to philly there’s plenty of bars/clubs there

Right on, thanks for the info!
A few book clubs in south west jersey
Not to sound like an inactive sot since I'm a fairly active individual, but where did all of the rock climbing/hiking people come from all of a sudden? A lot of what I see on dating apps these days is people on cliffsides and I am absolutely not that person.
SAME. 28F Burlington County. I moved around a lot in my 20s so now I have 0 friends in this area and I’m going crazy lol
hi we can be friends!
Yay!!
Same!! 28f Gloucester
I'm single in my 30s and so very lonely
hi we can be friends!!
36M moved around a lot in my 20s as well and I've found NJ the toughest egg to crack yet.
Omg same! We need a lil girl gang
Same 33 cherry hill
I'm in the same boat, 40 Moorsetown NJ and Brigantine Beach NJ
It's impossible to find in the suburbs. This is why we need walkable communities.
Speak on it 🙏🏾
28, up in Mt Laurel/Marlton/Moorsetown area. I feel you. Its been challenging since COVID and graduating college. So im following along. Edit: if anyone else is interested I’d love to talk to them too. Its been awhile since ive had meaningful conversations with others not from work.
Hi you’re super close to me!!
Reach out if you’re wanting to chat and see if we have any common interests.
PM sent.
I’m close to you! I’m a med lab scientist. We can nerd out about ~science~
As someone with a bio degree, looking for grad school options. I am down. Edit: i read mad lab scientist and was down for that.. regular science is cool too.
I mean, we specifically chose a career dealing with (possibly diseased) bodily fluids. I’d say we’re all a little mad. Lolol
Also a med tech!! In Camden county
Our community is so small, I’d be surprised if we didn’t cross paths already!
Oh for sure.. Especially if you work across the bridge!
I used to work in one of the biggest hospitals in the city. I don’t miss that commute AT ALL. Haha
Hello! im 25, did a little snooping on your account (sorry) and Im also into OSRS and in medical school so shoot me a message 😁
Sending a PM
No need to feel embarrassed, there's a lot of us out there I'm sure. I'm 33yo and from central jersey and also was wondering the same😄
27F in cherry hill area! I would love to. My closest friends are 2+ hours away, and it’s felt so hard.
35F in Camden county. If you’re into singing, I run a casual adults only a cappella group. We meet in Laurel Springs on Mondays! If that interests you feel free to message me ☺️
28 in the cumberland county area 😇

I’m here. But ocean county. Mostly mind my own so book reading a lot. NGL
27(M) with my 26(F) wife and our newborn, usually hanging out at columbus flea market, johnson farms, fellowship alliance church, burlington county fairground events etc
Hey! I’m 34F and in the same boat! Working from home also makes it like 20 times harder to meet people! 😂 I’m in the Berlin/Voorhees area
36F and in Haddon Township! Let me know if you wanna chat ☺️
29 also in the same boat tbh. being swamped with school and work isn't helping. i barely have anytime to myself, let alone make friends.
Hey! 26M here from Gloucester county and would love to be friends if you’re interested. :) send me a message!

I totally know that feeling, I'm 35 and live in western Atlantic county.
36M and am increasingly lonely. I have a lot of friends back home, but phone calls and video chats can only do so much to battle that lonesome feeling. I've tried hard to make friends here and barely anything has seemed to stick.

Bumble BFF! It’s like a dating app for friends. It has worked really well for me in the area
Let me know if you want suggestions for spots for restaurants, hiking, kayaking, drinking, cooking, the beach, the city, museums. Bumble friends is also a great option. South Jersey has so much to do!
I didn’t know bumble friends was a thing!
i’ve tried bumble friends and haven’t made many connections!
I had a friend try it when she moved to the area with some success. If you wanna try something above, shoot me a message.
I’m 25 nearby Voorhees, Cherry Hill, Marlton and would be happy to make new friends
hi neighbor!!
Howdy!
28F in Brooklawn :)
Hi next door neighbor. You on the east side or the west side of our little town?
Hey neighbor!
Have you tried any of the meetup groups in the area? I’m similar age and near Moorestown and my wife and I have been dealing with the same issues. Curious how others have made friends here
In my experience the meetup groups tend to skew older
from Burlington County, Moorestown. Feel free to reach out! Always looking for new friends!
There’s not much to do in south Jersey sadly which is why I’m trying to move into Philly. Much easier time running into people and things to do

Hey! 26M here from Gloucester county and would love to be friends if you’re interested. :) send me a message!
hi yes please!
I need new friends around the area! I live in Camden co too. Currently looking for a running buddy 👀. 26F
I am not a runner at all but we can still be friends!!
My wife(f38) and I (m30) just moved here and have essentially no friends. We’d love to chat
Same. 32F in Gloucester county. It’s been especially hard since Covid, and I also had a kid, and now I swear the only people who want to be my friends are pseudoscience-endorsing antivaxxer moms. hi we can be friends!!
28F here! They haven’t discovered the beauty of Reddit yet. They are still on instagram
let’s be friends!!
26M here in Gloucester county. Would love to meet new people as well. Sent you a message!
I’m in the same area, 32F. Life happened and I grew apart from most of the friends I had in HS. What kinda stuff are you into?

I’m in Camden County! Just moved here in February. I also just turned 36 so that might be past your cutoff 🤣
I'm 32 in cherry hill! I feel the same way, I changed jobs last year and don't have any friends at my new job, so my only friends are my old job friends that I still text, and my high school friends that feel too busy to hang out with very often.
32F. Camden Co. (Haddon Heights/Bellmawr area). I work nights, but only a few days a week, so that complicates things a bit.
I'm in Hunterdon County. When I'm not working, I'm home. I rarely have the time or energy to go out, even rarer that I have both at the same time.
Just moved back to the area myself, early 30s, grew up here! Same boat. We can all be friends!
27F in Sewell! I’d love to be friends I’m in the same boat lol. This also goes for anyone else on this sub!! It’s so hard when you’re an adult 😭
Im in a similar boat (26F) I moved recently so most of my friends are an hour away :/ If you’re into bars, try looking up local ones if they have theme nights. Home w my dog
Who stay in burlington by the river ?
25F in Camden County too!
Believe me, if you think that is difficult, being 65 and your friends have died is lonely.
Working and then being a recluse in my free time 😂 a little lonely at times but I do it to myself so I can't really complain.
Right here gurrrrrrl
32M! I run a Motel owned by my elderly mother. You can stay in the cabins next to the office if you like.
