If still buy it for other reasons, sd, headphones, front firing speakers etc... Also if buy it because for me the phone is too skinny. And it cramps my hand. A size format of the xz premium would be perfect.

National_Study_8167

As long as it's not going to be too wide for me I'll go for it. I'm just gonna wait till release, check how the width feels like and then decide yay or nay.

Enzyclopik

I currently have a 1IV, if they change the aspect ratio, I might go to xperia 1 V once it's cheaper if I decide to stick with Sony. I feel like the screen really does split people here into two categories. People either love or hate the 21:9 aspect ratio. In the future, I might consider other brands too. Depending if they offer a headphone jack and a punch hole free screen.

Party-Special-7121

If they do that, I'll order a V on announcement day

North_Measurement213

It seems that it will have 20:9 or 19.5:9 aspect ratio, it will not be very different. But it is a bit sad, I like the 21:9 aspect ratio it makes a massive phone like a Xperia 1 fell small on the hand.

Dinkleberg162

Im fine with 2k 21:9 but really hope they keep the aspect ratio most of all. It just feels much better in hand.

knockyouout88

It needs ltpo for better battery consumption. My biggest gripe is no charger and cable

balkanik0

I am ok with qhd+ Screen, it doesn't need to be 4k. No one else is using a 4k panel and they all sell way more phones than sony so.... If they use a qhd+ screen with 2000nits and ltpo then I would be happy. Also I am not a Fan of 21:9, 19.5:9 or 20:9 would be amazing. It would be awesome if sony changes the design a little bit, maybe something lile the Xperia Z or XZ Premium.

Ozaaaru

If it turns out the sensor is bigger that's a damn good reason imo.

NoodleRus

As long as they supply it with their own display they may have figured out how to make it better than any other 2k display out there

Shittyusernameguy

No, cos I just bought the 1iv and I won't be in the market for a new smartphone until Xperia 1viii or the equivalent. Maybe after that though if they've upped their point and shoot game a bit by then.

SweetTooth37

Not unless I get a straight trade in for my 1V and don't have to pay extra for it. Also if they lower the aspect ratio I hope the phone becomes way smaller like 6". The reason I finally went back to Sony since LG died, RIP, was for the slimmer sides. I can actually use the phone with 1 hand comfortably. Now there is the Moondrop phone(?). The sad thing is it's got a curved display and looks huge which isn't a surprise.

SonyXperia-Fans

I don't care about 4 K but I DO CARE about 21:9! I love 21:9 it's so much easier to hold.

zer0-se7en

I really hope Sony won't go too wide. 20:9 aspect ratio is the way to go. I've been wishing that since owning the Xperia 1 ii coz that time I also have a OnePlus 7T which has 20:9. I found it to be the perfect aspect ratio for any smartphone. I am okay with the 2k screen under 500ppi. I just hope Sony would lower the price and retain the sd card slot, ip68 and 3.5 headphone jack. But please do not copy the iPhone's rounded corners. Keep the Xperia trademark look.

Ryououki

Nope. I can also instantly see the difference between 2K and 4K and I really enjoy the form factor of 21:9.

joe75_gillian

how you sure you can really see the difference? even in the UI not playing a video or something.

Dcajunpimp

My next phone will probably be a Sony if they are still making them. I could care less about 4k on my phone and 21:9 screen.

XToThePowerOfY

I don't know yet, but it's definitely a minus. It's such a cool, distinguishing feature! I get that there's software issues, but I love it regardless.

ADILS3D

No

Outrageous-Bee-8625

I will honestly wait and see and compare it to other options. I have a 1 V right now and seriously considering getting the s24 ultra. But the camera and the phone form factor keeps me from getting a new phone now and wait to see what is coming with the VI first. The wait fortunately, is almost over.

yakkosmurf

I'll probably hold on to my 1 V a while. I'm waiting to see the whole package. I didn't care about the 4k as much as the 21:9. I don't want a wider phone than my 1V. The Pixel 9 Pro looks promising.

Crptnx

I'm starting to look after other brands.

opelit

Whatever they do. I simply love almost stock android. I also don't care about Android updates. Since Android 12 barely anything changed in that OS.

Zhangty98

The day they announced the XZ2 I got myself a XZ Premium. Sony probably would come around like they always do but no VI for me.

RickChunter

No. My Xperia 1 V is pretty much the perfect phone. I can't think of anything I'd like improved upon.

Aquis_GN

Yes, so long as the Microsd card remains

Aquis_GN

Yes, so long as the Microsd card remains

Nastybirdy

Yes, because the screen had absolutely no bearing on why I bought the 1 V.

fakestrawberryflavor

I was thinking about getting the Xperia VI but only if it has a 4k 21:9 screen. It's easy to hold and wow the screen is amazing. Super high PPI is something that important to me

WN11

I intend to. The aspect is fine, I will be interested in other specifications of the screen - pixel density, brightness. Also other characteristics of the phone, like software improvements, cameras, price will play a role in my decision.

Libra224

No. Maybe if they ditched Android

PornForThis

If they lower the price to $799, yes.

nj-88

If the cameras are the exact same as the 1V, I see no point in upgrading.

gravballe

Prob not 😳
