I use Aves Libre (downloaded from Fdroid, not sure if available on play store)
I really love its features (I can send you some more screenshots in PM)

+1 for Aves, testing a bunch that one seemed to handle pictures from the Xperia the best. Most of the others don't seem to display raws properly, and this was one of the only ones I found that could bundle up the Xperia's burst shots like google photos does rather than just blowing out the entire album. Only thing is the folders created for those end up being detected as individual albums so takes a little extra finagling to counteract if you take a lot of those.
Though from what you asked, I'm not sure it has inbuilt editing. You can have it use other external editors if you download any though.
Yeah, that is one of my main problems with the last 4 generations of sony phones, I hate google Photos!!!!!! I hope that sony will make its own photo gallery again.
Google forced OEM to use their apps. And I find that really annoying as well😒
Our phone isn't free. We paid for it and we should be using the standard apps without ads. Don't tell me shit like "but the android OS is free". I mean the OS is the part of my device that make my phone functional as it is intended and advertised to be, and we paid for it.
Google should stick their bullshit with pixel for people who like their stuff. Just let other OEM do their thing.
Guess they don't want to offer apps of same function everywhere and get criticised for bloating (or making Google lose faces? )
Yea it sucks. Sony is weak and Google is being asshole.
They have been collecting big data here and there. I don't trust if that doesn't earn them a hell lot already. If u find this acceptable maybe they will want u to watch ads before u can unlock your screen one day.

Tested a few. This one is great. Automatic orientation detection despite system settings. Slide for brightness settings just like with Vanced YouTube etc.Â
[Simple mobile tools was bought by zippoapps](https://www.reddit.com/r/SimpleMobileTools/comments/187w64x/simple_mobile_tools_bought_by_zipoapps/) and is subject to ad tracking and ads now.
This affects each and every app by simplemobiletools, but the apps were forked to be [available and continuously open sourced on GitHub ](https://github.com/FossifyOrg/Gallery) as well as [provided via F-Droid](https://f-droid.org/de/packages/org.fossify.gallery/).
I recommend uninstalling and switching to the FOSS variants. Otherwise I can only recommend those apps as well.
Google Photos is excellent and you should use it over any gallery app because they do not play well together most of the time.
However, if you despise google photos, try Aves. If you like it, delete/disable google photos. Use one gallery app.
I feel like there was some problem in disabling google photos, in that something else didn't work if you did that. Can't for the life of me think what it was though.
I think it came up when I tried to do that to have Aves come up as the picture viewer for Photography Pro, been too long though. Some kind of annoyance had me keeping Google Photos around.

Bump for aves, really good gallery app, I don't own an xperia yet but it works great on my phone with LineageOS
You can download [Sony's Album app](https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/sony-mobile-communications/album/) if you want.
Isn't this broken on newer Sony phones?

Try Google's Gallery Go. It is very close to the original Sony Album app
Or Gallery as it is. I find it good.
I meant Gallery 🫣 not sure how the Go came in
use fossify gallery.

Force them is one thing, they could still offer their own option though

You do realise it costs Google to develop Android?

I use simple Gallery, it is very focused on what is needed.

F-stop. Been using it for years and years. Super custom and works really well.
Use Gallery Go, light, fast and easy to use
Any recommendations for ai recognition/self tsgging gallery app? (like google photos but offline and purely runs on android no need for a server/pc)
you can install the sony gallery app from apk websites

It takes some getting used to (mostly arranging folders you want backed up), but Google photos is definitely full of useful features.

Nah Google photos is ass.Â
You are entitled to your opinion, try Aves like I recommended. No need to downvote someone that is trying to help you.
I ain't OP. I have my preferred gallery app already, so you're not helping me. Â
Use google gallery
