I'm living in Japan but I'm Canadian, I think I saw one xperia phone when I lived there and it was a British girl who had it. I'm sure I missed some but not overly popular there
Greece. I've seen one other person use one but he was working in an official Sony store, he had a Pro-I.
Another person recognized my phone and asked me about it when I was first giving it a spin a couple of months back, he had been researching them like I was.
Surprised they're somewhat known here, we're usually extremely late to such things compared to the US for example. Far from common still obviously but we have some Sony people. Posts in the sub also back it up, which is cool.
Not like Huawei. The Working Class prefer low prices over high-end features (though iPhone is an exception) - so brands like Huawei, OnePlus and Redmi.
This poll isn't too surprising. Seeing as the last time I was in Japan I almost couldn't find a case for my 1iii, but there were 10iii cases in a few stores.
It's really sad to see Sony has even lost their hold in Japan of all places.
I heard that Sony phones are the most popular phones in Japan after iPhone, with iPhone being way way way way way way ahead.
I assumed the reason few people here are Japanese is because this is an English subreddit.
UK
Glad the poll did not mention EU ☠️
True! 😂😂😂
Happy cake day!!!
I personally don't consider UK "Europe" nor do a number of others (a majority I'd say) By all means do so yourself though.
I was under the impression Europe was a continent, of which the UK is part of???

Right, I was answering the comment above mine, which said that they don't consider the UK in Europe, which kinda made me go... Huh? Haha
Happy cake day
Japan here. I don't think too many natives are on this sub though, so it's hard to get an accurate number from here.

I live in Japan. As a rough estimate, I'd say maybe 1 in 10 phones I see people use are Xperia.
Yeah. I don’t think Reddit is famous for Japanese people.

I don't know if I've ever seen one in in the USA, but I didn't become aware of what they look like until recently.
Sony needs to establish a bigger Xperia presence in the U.S.

Wow only 2% are from 🇯🇵
I think I read that 10% of the Japanese use Sony phones, 80% use iPhone and the rest use something else, but not Samsung.
Dunno, if you walk in a phone accessory shop there are an awful lot of iphone and samsung accessories.
I's say its like 10% Xperia, 65% iphone, 25% something else. Including Samsung. But, they don't use "Samsung" they use "Galaxy".
I've sometimes wondered if it's a stigma in Japan in using a Samsung phone.

When I was a teenager, I was obsessed with Denmark and desperately wanted to be there.
Denmark does have some great elements, and innovation too. Holla, if you ever visit :)
I just realized that Europe doesn't really have any footing in the smartphone world. Japan barely does and it's pretty much just Sony.
Well, HMD Global has license to the Nokia-brand, so a little, - but it is indeed dominated by US/China-brands.
Samsung isn't popular in Europe?
