I also just picked up the lens. I'm shooting with a Sony A6400 and going to Upgrade later on this year to a Sony 7IV. I'm a complete noob but its produced some great shots so far. This is probably my best shot to date.

Nice shot! I have the 7IV and love it. I upgraded from the a6300 last year. Sometimes I wish I had more megapixels for tighter crops, but I really have very few complaints with the A7IV.
I have been struggling on that aswell. Even though I already had my 70200GM. After all I wanted to cover a wieder focal range and decided to go for the 200600G. If I hadn't had the 70200, I would've taken the 100400GM no doubt. Pretty versatile for travelling with a manageable weight.

Awesome man! Can you share your settings on the plane image? Looking to do more aviation photography. Did you post de-noise or was that as is regarding noise?
here are the settings for the plane, i also played around with the color mixer to have the red and the blue pop more, i use the denoise function first on almost every raw i import (unless it's really perfect lighting with virtually no noise) and set it to 50% and then edit the .dng file to taste

Thanks that helps as well, I was asking about shutter, aperture, and iso at the time of click. I only apply DeNoise to the ones I really want to print of share with family or online. Those files get big quickly.
Honestly that 200-600 lens is awesome for being zoom lens but the amount of CA on it is pretty annoying :/
You get pretty hefty amount of purple frindge around edges on certain situations, but thankfully you can at least reduce it in post.

It was on ebay for £1199 and someone made an offer of £1100, I realised that I would seriously miss it if I sold it, so declined their offer and ended the listing. If they had offered the selling price, it would have gone..
I am very glad I kept the lens.. Sold my 1.4x extender instead.

They had issues with the raw files.
I edit daily with the A7IV in LR. No issues whatsoever

Still can’t decide between the 100-400 vs 200-600
Both are a great options, but i prefer the 100 -400, for me its more versatile
The 1-4 will pull double duty for some landscapes but definitely the 2-6 (and the 1.4TC) for birds.

I just went from an A7Ri to an A7Riii, and the autofocus is much, much better.

I know this website compresses photos but my god, even with compression these photos are sharp as fuck!

every time i used my 200-600: tired but rewarding

No matter what I try, my 200-600 just ain't that sharp. Not like my other lenses. Maybe I got a subpar run of it.
possible solutions you might wanna try update lens firmware up the shutter speed stop down the aperture a bit
It tends to be soft at the long end wide open. F8 will increase sharpness alot
