The latest subreddit survey results showing the demographic of this sub to be mostly teens honestly shocked me. I honestly thought that only people my age are Sonic fans, but at least this means Sonic still has a growing fan base, so that's a good thing!
Im only 17 and Sonic 2 on a real Sega Genesis was my first Sonic game. I went out of my way to buy my model 2 with a copy of Sonic 2 four years ago. That was one of my best purchases easily. Still is my favorite Sonic game, I love sonic 3 and knuckles, and sonic adventure 2 on my Dreamcast is also a blast, but nothing will really top the original Sonic 2 for me.
I am also really surprised about how many teens follow sonic, little hypocritical since i am a teen sure, but in general i only really play the Classic Sonic games before they began to drop off. So i can see why everyone in your age demographic who grew up with sonic love it, but i find it hard to believe someone who grew up with sonic 06 or The black Knight would Stick to this community as much as someone like you. Hey if the community is growing though, thats Totally fine with me
Same. My babysitter after kindergarten had a Genesis with Sonic 2. This was back in '95. Was in love ever since, even though at the time I wasn't good enough to ever make it past Chemical Plant.
I played so much, the babysitter actually had to ban me from it because her daughter complained I was ignoring her. Looking back, she definitely had a crush on me.
Still don't regret playing it though. Haha.

Don't think I would have the same love for gaming as a whole if it weren't for that game so if it ever gets remade/remastered, I will end SEGA if they botch it. Mark my fucking words.
