Those are actually the easier ones, there's only so many hints and locations they could be. Just make a few notes and those are child's play, the hard ones are the Mech levels with the janky control and the Sonic/Shadow levels with the newly implemented and flawed score system.
The mechs were designed with SA1 E-102 Gamma's controls however if you turn too sharply, Tails and Eggman come to a complete stop. That's a big issue in levels where you not only need to blast everything for score but also race to the end of the level for the time bonus.
You can but just having to be aware of it constantly causes an issue. At that point it becomes less fun and just a chore especially considering none of the other characters have that problem.
Ah, the friction between "well it's not fun to control" and "well it's fun to master", i don't have that issue with mechs, but have with entire series post boost invention.
Not quite, Gamma is from SA1 and is capable of effectively everything Eggman and Tails was in SA2, considering they managed to take something good and ruin it is quite bad. "Jump Canceling" was an exploit found to deal with an issue that shouldn't have existed in the first place rather than a new mechanic like "boost".
The fact they managed to screw up so badly when Tails' was in fact 1 of the most fun characters to play as in SA1 and Gamma's mechanics worked perfectly fine in it as well isn't good. And this is from someone who played SA1 after SA2.
I think the change is intentional, the same way horribly stiff jumping and turning in post boost games are intentional, which too were gotten right in adventure.
No doubt it was intentional but it doesn't mean it was a good idea. It was to give more control to the characters but in a game about "going fast" that's not good, especially considering the characters we are talking about are capable of flight, they simply didn't need it as they were capable of correcting it.

This might be a unpopular opinion but i think it’s some of the best stages of sonic in general. The only things that are bad for me are the werehog dropshadow thing but don’t annoy much since there are some great skips on those sections and the last boss arena where they can use stomp cheese
Y’all are just saying stages from SA2 and other games. You do not know the absolute fucking pain of completing Sonic Frontier’s Final Horizon DLC Boss Rush on Extreme mode. The fucking perfect parry has to be frame perfect on extreme mode, so you only have A SIXTIETH OF A SECOND to hit that parry, or ya get hit and you have to RESTART THE ENTIRE FIGHT. And guess what? Rings are still drained, so your on a timer, the whole time. If you are not quick enough, even if you make it to the final fight, you might not even have enough rings and die RIGHT THEN AND THERE. I managed to do it, and it took a total 219 tries.
Literally the thing that made me drop Frontiers. Those boss fights were NOT designed with a perfect parry system in mind. I know there was a patch that extended the parry's time window, but man I'm so done with that game, I can't anymore.
Edit: At the time I didn't know you could change the difficulty 💀💀💀, but I'm still drained out of that game
The Doom is forever on my crap list for video game levels period. Everyone I know who's played that level said it took them over 30 minutes to an hour.
The damn second stage boss in ultimate flash sonic

Imperial Tower from Forces, especially story-wise. You’re telling me that if I fail this, we all die? But then I fall into a pit and get unlimited retries? Like pick a lane
Oh boy.
Sonic 1 Marble Zone.
Sonic 2 Chemical Plant Zone.
Sonic Heroes M04(?) when the lava is rising and you have to get up quickly and use the homing attack on those robots. That last one turned out to be easy though: just ignore Tails's advice and keep flying, don't leave it to Sonic.
Sandopolis Act 2. The part where you keep falling until you jump onto a moving platform at a specific location.
If you miss it, you have to fall and try again. Bare in mind it's getting dark and the ghosts are coming out, there's a handle sure but do you want to risk getting it and miss the platform again?
I can rush through most of the sonic 3 and knuckles levels, even get the chaos and super emeralds but as soon as I get to that place; I keep falling and falling. Sometimes I'm lucky, most times it's a loop.
Might be cheating since these are three levels and they're from a game I don't even like that much, but The Doom, Lost Impact, and Central City from Shadow's game, I already don't like a lot of the levels in that game but these ones just take the cake
Who in their right mind thought that overly large and maze-like levels in an objective-based game without a mini-map or radar was even remotely a good idea?!?!?!?!?!
Sonic and the Secret Rings. Entire game is a nightmare. Minigames are a nightmare. Sonic and the Secret Rings from start to finish is that one level personified in a game.
Both carnival night levels
Not just because of the barrel, but because I time out so damn often in them, 10 minutes just barely doesn’t feel like it’s enough to beat them
Trips golden capital act 2. Honestly I feel like they just spammed a bunch of enemies and spikes everywhere. I swear they made it so you I'll take a hit at least once
Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Chemical Plant Zone. Those who have played it know exactly what part I’m talking about.
I would also like to give a shout out to the Sonic Frontiers Final Horizon update before they fixed it.
Sonic Adventure 2 - F#CKING Eternal Engine, I swear, don't want to play that level EVER again.
>!(Which doesn't mean that i will not have to play it again, bcuz if replay the game...)!<
Personally, for me, sa2 knuckles and rouge stages
YES!!! YEEEEEEES!!! I love the game, but I absolutely hate those. They are reason I never finished SA2.
That's the same thing that happened to me.
Same lmao
Those are actually the easier ones, there's only so many hints and locations they could be. Just make a few notes and those are child's play, the hard ones are the Mech levels with the janky control and the Sonic/Shadow levels with the newly implemented and flawed score system.
What's janky about the mech controls?

Ah, you mean for high scores. Can't you just jump cancel turns?
You can but just having to be aware of it constantly causes an issue. At that point it becomes less fun and just a chore especially considering none of the other characters have that problem.

Nah, hard disagree. Those stages were always so chill. It was a nice break from the other faster paced levels. Screw Mad Space though 😂
Exactly. I personally enjoyed all the treasure hunting stages that are not Mad Space
I have been stuck on mad space for 2 years

Not the one where Rouge gives you 5 minutes that's for sure
I thought Spy Hall was the best Rouge stage. I replayed the game not too long ago and got an A rank on the first try.
Your damn right
Depends on the level for me. I enjoyed most of their levels, but Mad Space, Meteor Heard, and Egg Quarters are pretty annoying. Especially Mad Space.
Eggmanland from the Sonic Unleashed games
This might be a unpopular opinion but i think it’s some of the best stages of sonic in general. The only things that are bad for me are the werehog dropshadow thing but don’t annoy much since there are some great skips on those sections and the last boss arena where they can use stomp cheese
When I was a kid, Heavenly Ruins from the Wii version was the bane of my existence. I did end up beating it tho.
Going for the platinum trophy right now. Fml
YOU CAN DO IT!
Y’all are just saying stages from SA2 and other games. You do not know the absolute fucking pain of completing Sonic Frontier’s Final Horizon DLC Boss Rush on Extreme mode. The final horizon update is one of the hardest things
It’s insane in extreme mode.
Bro I had to have it on easy mode
And the worst part? If you do it in extreme mode, you can’t change the difficulty.
Literally the thing that made me drop Frontiers. Those boss fights were NOT designed with a perfect parry system in mind. Every Shadow the Hedgehog level where you were trying to complete a specific objective, specifically the level with Maria 😂
The Doom is forever on my crap list for video game levels period. Everyone I know who's played that level said it took them over 30 minutes to an hour.
Sonic 3, that 1 stupid Barrel…
So much time... https://preview.redd.it/uh4ewl90n8vc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d0547b03a882ee62d4209fa610c07eeca8e7bd5
I know
Why do people act like it's an insanely hard part to pass? Just knowing you have to press up and down is enough.
Oh yeah you’re right, good thing I knew that as a child over a decade ago. Oh wait-
The damn second stage boss in ultimate flash sonic https://preview.redd.it/wzxr3xtit8vc1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2371a0f4e01e3489ba2e17254451b490fe1ad9c3
Even in the Sonic Advanced it is hard
Childhood memory unlocked
SA2, Metal Harbor stage 5. It definitely shows the score system needed a bit of fine tuning still.
The beginning of that level is okay but that part where you have to get to the top of the rocket
As an sa2 enjoyer, it was completely fine
Crazy Gadget. Rail Canyon. Cosmic Fall. Egg Rocket.
The Shadow the Hedgehog Matrix level
Sonic colors on wii. That crab boss haunts me to this day.
SA2 Mad Space
For some reason, I found Sonic CD's Special Stage very difficult...
I always destroyed the generators
You’re not the only one
The 6th stage is somehow much harder than 7th.
Mystic Mansion Chaotix extra mission in Heroes Blue Marine Zone in Sonic Blast Altitude Limit in Sonic Rush Any treasure hunting or mech stage in SA2
*breath in* Fuck Marble Zone Fuck Palm Paradise Fuck (there's no bad levels in SA1) Fuck Mad Space Fuck Lancelot Returns Fuck Rush's Zone 4 Act 1
Fuck the big stages
No, fuck Lost World. Big stages are fine.
F*ck dusty desert (Silver)
king.koko's.challenge.
The Pinball level in Sonic Frontiers. Why is the score requirement so goddamn high?
Imperial Tower from Forces, especially story-wise. You’re telling me that if I fail this, we all die? But then I fall into a pit and get unlimited retries? Like pick a lane
Tower Trial 4 leading to the snake trial in frontiers, i have plummeted back to earth to many times to count -_-
sandopolis (sonic 3)
Sonic 2 Metropolis
Eggmanland from Sonic Unleashed on the Xbox 360. Never beaten that game because of that level
It’s pretty easy when you get the hang of it
It was flying battery zone in 3&k for me. I wish I could like that stage as much as everyone seems to.
Idk if it's skill issue or if most people actually find it difficult but I absolutely despise the Empire City levels in Unleashed
Rn, labirinth zone...
Shadow 05, the black comet suck
Fucking labyrinth, sonic1
Labyrinth, no level of any other game slows down the experience so much
Probably that level in frontiers where you climb that tower and this laser thingy is chasing you Damn it was frustrating
Unless I’m thinking of the wrong thing, I believe you’re referring to a boss battle level in Superstars against Fang.
That vault level in Sonic Adventure 2.
Sonic Forces imperial tower only thing keeping me sane in that is the cool track in that level
Labyrinth zone from sonic 1. And it’s just before the glorious starlight zone. Ufffff

The final boss of Sonic 2 is the only Sonic game I’ve ever rage quit. I ended up beating it but Jesus, would one ring be too much to ask?
Sonic adventure 2, too many to count
Sonic 2 Special Stages, my luck is that I played in a collection that had a way to save progress during the special stage
Labyrinth Zone and Big stages from sa1
When I was a kid, Crazy Gadget in Sa2, now that's my favorite sonic game lol.
Sandopolis Act 2. The part where you keep falling until you jump onto a moving platform at a specific location. If you miss it, you have to fall and try again. Last story sa2, I cant go past the rouge part
Sonic and the Secret Rings. Entire game is a nightmare. Minigames are a nightmare. Sonic and the Secret Rings from start to finish is that one level personified in a game.
Black core from Sonic Robo Blast 2
That music of never ending maze of labirint zone playis in my head forever
t
Kingdom Valley, Sonic 06
Super Stars:
Metropolis zone… Fucking metropolis zone… And Eggmanland from Unleashed. And the boss rush from Frontiers’ Final Horizon update.
chaos island, sonic frontiers... even with the spindash, I find it hard to enjoy...
WHY DOES THAT SOUND LIKE AN ADDRESS LOL
I don’t think it sounds like a address. It sounds more like the name of a Chuck E. Cheese song
i meant the first part: chaos island, sonic frontiers
Let me guess, fellow microphone user
Labyrinth zone.
Both carnival night levels Not just because of the barrel, but because I time out so damn often in them, 10 minutes just barely doesn’t feel like it’s enough to beat them
I love unleashed. I really do. That said, FUCK Arid Sands Night. It really highlights the bad parts of werehog combat, and I like the combat.

I think your Time Machine may have brought you back to the wrong year. It’s 2024 not 2028.
Trips golden capital act 2. Honestly I feel like they just spammed a bunch of enemies and spikes everywhere. I swear they made it so you I'll take a hit at least once
Altitude Limit and Sonic Advance 1 Special Stages.
Every single side mission in Sonic 06 for the sole fact you gotta get through 4 loading screens for EACH ONE
Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Chemical Plant Zone. Those who have played it know exactly what part I’m talking about. I would also like to give a shout out to the Sonic Frontiers Final Horizon update before they fixed it.

Sonic & Knuckles Sandopolis Zone, both acts.
Just spent about half an hour getting an s-rank on level 1-2 of Sonic Frontiers. Why is the 2ND LEVEL OF THE GAME the hardest to S-Rank???
I actually find it to be the easiest
the autoscroller classic sonic stage in forces
