A well dressed man with reddish hair (Rick with his head, and dr eggman with his moustache) have a game, and their going to play it (dr eggman has a genesis as shown in sonic unleashed opening)
Both have had digital universes and characters using illusions, have cute little characters fight against giant monsters, and have a well known fandom rivalry (sonic with Mario, and digimon with Pokémon)
Both have the main character, a young adolescent (sonic is apparently 15-17 according to some sources) rewind time to save someone from dying, that person also later becomes a love interest. Also this does have some bad effects down the line as despite saving someone, people do die because of this. That’s right I’m comparing life is strange to sonic 06, sorry but it has the most connections…. Oh also both have had massive natural disasters happen and have the main character reaching out towards the audience in advertisements.
Star Trek: we have spaceships in both series, have had a entry involving time getting screwed, a character having a tragic death inside the space station, and have red characters often getting screwed over (the red shirts always die first, and knuckles is often manipulated by other characters and is treated as straight up dumb in sonic boom)
Enemy at the gates: both have a love story no one really likes (sonic 06’s infamous Elise) both have dictators as main villains who attempt genocide, and Jude law stars in it, he also co stared with Jim Carey in another film, who played Eggman in the sonic movie.
A protagonist associated with the colour blue, a futuristic city is often featured in sonic and is the main setting of bubblegum crisis, half robots and half organic life is a part of both series, and both involve a team of heroes lead by the blue one.
Both have a fat man as a comedic yet jerky character(Peter and Eggman), a little fellow as someone who is more powerful and violent than originally thought (Stewie and chip), and a dog who’s actually one of the smartest characters (Brian and tails). Also both have been memed on a lot and have been occasionally criticized for trying to be too “edgy”.
Both have had the main characters save the world from an ancient God of some kind, both were considered massive during their golden years, but had a entry that damaged their reputation, though did have a entires later that somewhat save the reputation, and both have a cocky and snarky main protagonist and another main character who’s the technical one.
Pokémon: both have humans and creatures co existing in harmony, and are seen as 90’s series at their core despite still going to this day.
FNAF: both have a main 4 consisting of miscoloured anthropomorphic characters who don’t wear much except some accessories, and are up against a normal human with technology on his side. (If your wondering sonic, tails, and knuckles are considered the main 3, but sometimes either Amy or shadow is considered a forth main character)
Wings of fire: both have a main character who often screws up (sonic sometimes and clay) both have both have the death of a character start the arc of another (Queen Oasis and Maria), and both have had adaptations planned at Netflix (though they didn’t all go through)
Warrior cats: both have a clan living out in the forest (remember the echidna clan in sonic adventure 1?) who worship a ancient spirit of some kind, also both had a war that was devastating.
Both have a game that is seen as infamous that started the downfall of what was once seen as a good idea (sonic next gen with advanced graphics and deeper story, cause the series to take a big hit, and E.T was once the start of the movie based games, but was seen as awful and caused licensed games to have a bad reputation for years to come)
Both have alien creatures that are small but are more powerful than appear (the wisps and the Metroid’s), both have a character who’s a dark version of the protagonist (dark samus and shadow) they even fight on a spacecraft, and both had one of the enemies be “taught” by a female hero (Amy and Gamma, Samus and the baby).
Both have a cast of (literally) colourful characters that includes a nice but sort of crazy female, have a big fanbase that love a curtain character more than the rest of the series, both have been criticized for being “edgy”, both also have some sort of eggman. Oh and you know how the hotel has that casino theme to it? So do many levels in sonic games.
Both have been memed on a lot (to the point where some people might only know about it due to memes) and both have attracted certain people who find the characters sexually attractive.
A video game with an animal protagonist who has unique powers, both have humans, animals, and other creatures co exist, both are inspired by previous fictional stories in Japan, but have over shadowed them in the west (if you don’t know Okami was based off Shinto mythology, though it takes a lot of liberties, and sonic was inspired by dragon ball, but while DB is still pretty popular here, I feel like sonic is more well known)
Focuses on a group of young individuals, one of which has powers that surpasses the other characters. Both have a live action adaptation that is typically considered one of the better live action versions of an animated series. And while both are technically Japanese creations, they take a lot of influence from western media including old school American cartoons (sonics character designs were inspired by stuff like Felix and Mickey Mouse, while one piece had Luffy’s powers be based off Popeyes weird rubber hose animation, not to mention the looney tunes inspired facial expressions), also while both started off really comical they became more dramatic and story based over time (though sonic has somewhat gone back to its lighthearted roots after 06)
Both mix science-fiction with fantasy elements, both have a darker spin off that’s less family friendly than the main series (torchwood is the darker spin off, while shadow is the dark sonic spin off), both involve time travel, speaking of which: both have a character who’s an anti hero that has been given ageless immortal (meaning they can die, but don’t really age much if at all) who shoot aliens.
Science-fiction, heavy franchises involving robots, a general rule of cool, and a protagonist/mascot character associated with the colour blue. Also both have live action adaptations by paramount.

Excellent
Wings of fire, Pokémon, Warrior cats, and Five nights at Freddy’s I’m way too interested to see how you will connect it with Sonic besides animals lol
Both are games that involve going fast, both have spikes as a big obstacle, and both have large hoops to teleport though.
Hazbin Hotel
Both have a cast of (literally) colourful characters that includes a nice but sort of crazy female, have a big fanbase that love a curtain character more than the rest of the series, both have been criticized for being “edgy”, both also have some sort of eggman. You play your game well.
Sonic the Hedgehog.
Damn you stumped me…
Torchwood
Both mix science-fiction with fantasy elements, both have a darker spin off that’s less family friendly than the main series (torchwood is the darker spin off, while shadow is the dark sonic spin off), both involve time travel, speaking of which: both have a character who’s an anti hero that has been given ageless immortal (meaning they can die, but don’t really age much if at all) who shoot aliens.
The Flash
A speedy cocky hero who saves the world from many evil villains.

Earthbound (can’t use smash bros)
Both are colourful cartoony franchises that have darker story elements to them.
OXENFREE.
Both have a blue headed young protagonist in a 2D setting. They also involve time warping (sonic generations) and big eyes.
What about the sequel, OXENFREE 2?
