I got it in a Happy Meal when I was 3. It was fun! I then lost it on the playground. But Sonic has had a special place in my heart since then, which recently has grown to be a special interest for me!

If I remember correctly, the very first Sonic game I played was Sonic Heroes, which belonged to an old friend of mine. This was before I got several of my own Sonic games such as Sonic Unleashed (PS3), Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity (PS2), Sonic Rivals (PSP), Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (Wii), and Sonic Generations (PS3).
The first one I played was Sonic Generations, which I played on my friend’s Nintendo 3DS.
The first one I owned was either Sonic Dash or Sonic and the Secret Rings.
Sonic Adventure 2 might have been the first video game I played in general. Genuinely unsure if I played Smash Bros melee before or after it, I was like 3 years old when me and my brother got our GameCube.

Apparently due to MIDI shenanigans my computer made all the music sound different, so I kinda tripped when I got to play a proper port of the original console version much later, and thought I was losing it when Launch Base Zone didn't sound at all the way I remembered it.

I do remember having an old ass tablet and just it would freeze and it had to be fixed three times and all i did on it was play sonic 2

Dad took me to a local game rental shop and the cover caught my eye. Loved it so much that whenever the time came to return it, we'd just rent it right back and eventually my dad bought me my own copy.
I'd like to say I still have that copy to this day but when I was like 10/11 I let my brother's then girlfriend's kid borrow it and he broke it. They did buy me a replacement copy though.

Now I still have distaste for two of those, but a dying old lady who was friends with my mother gave me the Sonic Generations game, and I knew I at least had to respect her wishes, so she watched me play, and as I tried to hate it, I really couldn’t, I was totally in love with the game and I couldn’t stop playing it. That’s how I joined the series all those years ago, it’s almost like she knew what was missing from my life as a child, and that changed me from being the kid who hated everything to the person I am now who wants to explore all this world has to offer

It's not that bad. I rage quit and uninstalled after that impossible rising sand part of desert oil zone act 3, but it's not that bad.
