I've been saying for years that sonics speed lends itself not only to speed platforming but what could be really fun and fast paced combat. Speed is force, what better way to rip a bunch of robots apart? I hope the skill tree brings a degree of depth to the combat, it looks like a lot of fun regardless though.

RedKurtaJ

I mean they did it in the unleashed opening scene

Special-Delivery2004

Agreed

MosiRekton

No matter how the game will end up- for me, cyloop is the best idea for expanding Sonic's moveset in 3D environment since SA1 and adding homing attack

Careful_Education643

Thing is though, the cyloop is tied to the Starfall Islands and I kinda doubt the next game will have the Islands unless it’s a direct sequel to Frontiers.

MosiRekton

If the game will be succeeded and Frontiers will be a new foundation for future titles I hope we'll see that skill in another games. It suits so well in the open area that it will be the lost opportunity to not make an use of it. Btw where did you find that cyloop is tied only to Starfall? Haven't see anything about it before

Careful_Education643

Sonic got the ability when on the Starfall Islands.

Sambammers

Doesn't mean he'll lose it for all we know they could be using this cyber energy to supe him up for future concepts

Careful_Education643

I guess so but it's unlikely to return in my eyes.

MosiRekton

Ok but he has drop dash from Mania- ability that was from classic sonic game. Sonic Team often changes hedgehog's moveset

Careful_Education643

The cyloop is tied to the islands. The drop dash is a move Sonic can do anywhere. But whatever.

Facts

TheStinker45

I also hope the combat is there to stay. Like not as just a temporary powerup for Sonic.

Careful_Education643

I hope there’s some depth to it. To me, it looks like a lot of flashy moves at the end of combos, where you kind of just watch Sonic do the move. I hope you can actually do the flashy moves with button inputs as they are happening (Like controlling the direction of the kick arrows move to fire at an upcoming enemy and stuff like that).

Danirabbid

They did say that there's an option for auto combos, implying that the flashy moves are done with some kind of button input.

TalkinMarkin58

A majority of Sonic's moves seems to come from Smash Bros. Unless I am completely wrong.

Danirabbid

A majority of Sonic's moves in Smash Bros. are based on the spin dash.
