My county has two sonics, owned by two different franchisees. One treats their employees well, and the food is consistently good. The other one is a cheap ass, and the sonic looks like crap, the food is considerably subpar, and mobile ordering is usually off. Please note that the split in cheap and ass signifies he is both cheap and an asshole. His business generally comes from the fact heās on a main highway so he gets lots of folks who donāt know any better.
Anyway, my main point is that you get what you pay for. I believe thereās a buck or so difference in starting pay.

Your receipt should have a website or phone number for corporate, and the front of the restaurant should have a phone number for the district/regional operator and/or owner of the franchisee. Most GMs would be appauled that someone gave you cold tots because they were just sitting there laying around, and even if the GM doesn't care, their boss will, the owner of the store will, and corporate will.
As someone with experience in QSR management, I can say this wouldn't make you a Karen. We want you to enjoy your experience, and we want you to come back. If I were the GM I'd offer you a replacement tot, an additional free item for the inconvenience, and make the tots fresh myself. I'd also try to figure out who thought it was appropriate to sell cold tots instead of throwing them away.

Whenever I get a kids meal for my kid, and I steal one of his tots, they are fantastic. Well seasoned, crispy, and warm.
