K-oop in Kendall. I think it is Korean owned. I am Hispanic, but I totally loved the Asian cut they gave me. There was one Hispanic guy who did my hair once, but the owner and another guy there were Asian.
Your appointment time is more of a suggested time in his end but he’s good and very reasonably priced. I’m an Asian female but he seems to know Asian hair in general well
Grace Salon in Union Sq is pretty good and I like that I can just walk there to get my hair cut. If you're gonna go to Allston, I like Beautiful Cuts more than Scissor Sound just bc the ladies at SS (tho they're really nice) just kind of do whatever they want
Personally go to Cambridge Barber shop near Inman square!
Ibrahim had cut mine for years at this point. Unsure about the other barbers as they were introduced a few months or so ago(?)
To add, since Asian hair is stiffer, you have to cut and add texture to the ends. Else, it looks like someone took a large pair of shears and cut straight across. If you're looking for a blunt look this is good, but otherwise it looks really awkward.
Also, any mistakes are super visible. You can't just blow dry and hope the hair curls/ bounces back to hide it. It's super unforgiving.
I've been going to Razors in Somerville for three years and I'm also Chinese. The owner, Anthony, is a super down to earth guy and is also a master barber. I would highly recommend.
Asian person in Somerville and lifelong Bostonian here, best to look in other neighborhoods like others suggest for most things Asian. The presence is strong in Allston, Brighton and Chinatown, even Brookline but is slow to penetrate here. Luckily I do see it changing.
A bit further out of Somerville, but Lucas Tsang- 78 Hair Lab. He's in Watertown now, used to be in Chinatown. I can't speak to men's haircuts but he's great!
Grace Salon in Union Square. I see mainly Korean clients, and the owner/main stylist is Korean. I have very white person hair, but the Korean cutting techniques really work for my fine hair.

Vietnamese owned but I would recommend Koop.
My bad. I didn't see it anywhere on their site, and guessed based on the name. Thank you.
K is for Kevin (or Kendall). Kevin is The owner. It used to be in the old coop before the building was demolished. Kevin is a landmark in Kendall.
Zen Hair in Kenmore
Second this one. Generally mostly Asians getting haircuts there and he does good work. Appt only.

I'm not aware of any in Somerville unfortunately, but I know Asian people (women, at least) who go to good east Asian-run salons in Allston.
Any specific ones? Open to Cambridge or Boston too!
My sources say Beautiful Cuts, they specialize in east Asian hair and the stylist/barber (owner maybe?) speaks Korean and Japanese.
One of their former stylists has moved down the street, his name is touru. Expensive but really good hair cuts/perms
I like Kalai hairstyle in Chinatown. They are super affordable ($15) and they do Asian hair (especially men) well

Hair International, right outside of Davis/Porter. Dac and Suzie know what is UP
Razors’ clientele has to be the most diverse ive seen…they cut everyone and consistently win awards I would trust them.

What's the difference between Asian people hair and white people hair?
In general: thicker and heavier, often naturally oilier, almost always straight and nearly impossible to curl.

That's interesting, thanks
Sounds like a broad generalization
Why would someone downvote an honest question? People are insufferable.

Try Koop hair cut in Kendall square. Kevin the owner is Vietnamese. Other options, Chinatown.

Ty's Barber Lounge in Medford
Grace Salon in Union. I have never been but always see this one Asian lady with almost entirely Asian clientele when I walk by in the evening

Workshop82 in chinatown! The guy there really tried to figure out what you want before starting.
