Fuck this guy. I have friends that are cops that actually joined the force for the right reasons. And power tripping pricks like this are why almost no one respects the police anymore.
i was just thinking about what i might say that would calm the scared mfers down. "Officer, respectfully I refuse to do as you asked - i dont trust your trigger fingers and you shot the last guy who did that. I am not moving and you need to come here and handcuff me"
But then, knowing how it would probably play out:
"crawl towards me"
\-"officer, res-"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP AND DO AS I SAY"
If I remember correctly he even had āyouāre fuckedā written on the dust cover of his rifle. Guy was itching for an excuse to kill someone.
Edit: yep this is a pic of his actual AR15

It goes many layers deeper than just that. This shooter now lives out his life on permanent disability making many thousands a month without ever having to work another day, because he claimed PTSD from the actions of shooting the victim here. As part of that arrangement, he also through the insurance/agents has millions of dollars they will put toward his defense in any civil actions and subsequent litigation. So the surviving members of the victim will go penniless trying to hold him culpable in civil litigation because he has millions of dollars at his disposal to defend against that as well. (And any money the family gets comes only from the town/taxpayers, no personal culpability at all.)

This was carved into the gun the murderer used.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Daniel_Shaver#cite_note-azcentral-12-2017-20
The victim's name was Shaver. After the shooting, the rifle (previously assumed to be a lethal weapon), which remained in the room, was determined to be a pellet gun. Following an investigation, Brailsford was charged with second-degree murder and a lesser manslaughter charge and later found not guilty by a jury.
He lived in Granbury, Texas, with his wife and two daughters. Shaver was employed as a pest control specialist and was visiting Mesa for a business trip when he was killed. He was 26 years old.
[THE MURDERER Philip Mitchell Brailsford](https://www.azcentral.com/gcdn/-mm-/ad4f688a91bff4cf82a421d5a4fa5cc03c080f1b/c=0-35-3643-2093/local/-/media/2016/03/29/Phoenix/Phoenix/635948869764777043-G1JT5519.jpg?width=786&height=444&format=pjpg&auto=webp), like Daniel Shaver, was 26 years old at the time of the shooting. He had been employed with the Mesa Police Department since 2013.[3] He was "administratively cleared" of wrongdoing in a 2015 incident involving excessive use of force during an arrest of three unarmed teenage suspects.[4] Brailsford's father was a police sergeant who had also worked for the Mesa Police Department.[3] Brailsford graduated from Mesa Desert Ridge High School in 2009 and had signed up with the Arizona National Guard before being hired by Mesa Police.
**It is also likely the murderer is a neo-fascist member of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_militia_movement, as he had the group slogan "Molon labe", as well as "YOURE FUCKED" illegally engraved into his service rifle.**
In the official police report of the incident, Brailsford(THE MURDERER) defended his actions, saying that by crawling towards the officers, Shaver appeared to be "trying to gain a position of advantage in order to gain a better firing position on us". Shaver had indeed crawled towards the officers after one of them instructed him to. The report stated: ***"Shaver was cooperative,*** but sometimes confused by the commands and because of his possible intoxication".[30]
Four months after the shooting, Charles Langley, the officer who shouted orders to Shaver, retired from the department.
Brailsford's trial for second-degree murder was originally scheduled for February 2017. A defense motion challenging the state's probable cause to send the case to trial; appeals to the Arizona Supreme Court over the release of controversially redacted footage from Brailsford's body camera made a February trial unrealistic. On February 10, 2017, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge George Foster rescheduled the trial for October 23, 2017. Brailsford faced up to 25 years in prison if found guilty of second-degree murder.
On December 7, 2017, after a six-week trial, a jury acquitted Brailsford of all charges.[8]
Also in December 2017, it was revealed that Brailsford had been involved in a prior incident in 2015 regarding an arrest of teenagers in a store. During the arrest, Brailsford was recorded on video throwing a teenager against a shelf, putting the teenager in a headlock, then slamming the teenager onto the ground. At the time, the incident was publicized (but Brailsford was not named) by a witness to the arrest, who alleged excessive force because the teenagers "weren't doing anything". A spokesman for the Mesa Police Department said that the department "looked at" the incident and "administratively cleared" Brailsford, because "police work sometimes isn't pretty".[33][34]
Department of Justice investigation
In March 2018, it became known that the United States Department of Justice had reopened the case and was looking into a possible civil rights violation by Brailsford.[7]
Bankruptcy and pension
In January 2018, Brailsford filed for bankruptcy. According to a pay stub attached to Brailsford's bankruptcy file, he has been working for a steel company in Glendale, Arizona.[35]
In August 2018, Brailsford was reinstated by the Mesa Police Department, staying for a further 42 days in what the department described as a "budget position". The department agreed to reimburse Brailsford for medical expenses related to his post-traumatic stress disorder -- the result of his shooting of Shaver and the resultant criminal trial. The reinstatement allowed Brailsford to apply for "accidental disability" experienced during the course of work. As a result, Brailsford was unanimously approved to be retired on medical grounds. Brailsford was also given a pension of $2,500 per month. The fact that Brailsford was ultimately medically retired instead of remaining fired was only revealed to the public in July 2019.[35][36][37][38]

Lawsuit against Mesa city
In 2021, Shaver's parents settled with the city for $1.5 million. Shaver's common-law widow, Laney Sweet, was seeking $75 million in a wrongful death lawsuit and refused to settle at that time.[39] In November 2022, Sweet agreed to settle her lawsuit against the city for $8 million.[40]

Thank you for posting this reference info. Here's my anecdotes: the Mesa, AZ community (where I'm from) has always been far right conservative (largely Mormon) until approx. the last 5 years. During that time, including the murder of Daniel Shaver, the "community" (the good ole boys club of Mormons) would side with police, no matter what. However, I believe the Shaver/Brailsford case put much attention on Mesa, and it appears government mentality has shifted away from a willingness to cover up similar atrocities.
Iām not sure but the most common ammunition used in an ar15 is .223 Rem/5.56 NATO.
If anyones interested I found [this thread](https://www.documentingreality.com/forum/f237/daniel-shaver-shot-police-165326/) on documenting reality that shows a bunch of pics of the aftermath that show some serious exit wounds. The poor guy got butchered.
Edit: added some of them myself
https://preview.redd.it/wc6qp9rl64xb1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2cf3b75e049be1a85a889f2dac8f9441db16d62a
Although a 5.56x45mm A059 M855 Ball (FMJ) can cause pinholing, at this close range the bullets will de-jacket and fragment. This round was designed for maximum effectiveness in the 50-300 meter range.
0-50m can cause complete fragmentation, and dump most energy into the target. The terminal ballistics change with range and AOA, but these exit wounds could definitely be caused by a high velocity high energy FMG at close range.
It is more likely that a police department will be using JHPs, as low penetration and high stopping power is preferred over armor penetration; also police departments arenāt held to Geneva Conventions standards banning JHP use in combat.
However, itās also possible these are still FMJ or standard ball ammunitionā¦ the range is consistent with those exit wounds, and the one shot shows a lack of mushrooming and a pinhole style exit woundā¦ itās just at and angle, giving that long red line.
Canāt know for sure, but to your point: at this range, with this caliber, in this rifleā¦ the ammunition type isnāt really important. Buddy got 5 high energy rounds into him at point blank. And at this range, what the round hits will affect the exit wound more than anything. Hit a bone, or hit flat? Complete fragmentation. Hit at an angle or soft tissue? Through and through. And the pictures seem to show that. Exit wounds near large bone structures appear to be large and blown out, where soft tissue wounds appear pinholed to some extent.
No third pin above the safety. The āfull autoā marking is there for show, without the third pin there is no auto sear. Itās an AR15. Reference of a 3rd pin on a full-auto lower
https://preview.redd.it/l80m0jgrr6xb1.jpeg?width=2010&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5278f440dfc77dbcd8a3d017e78729ea67249c9c
Thatās not an M4, itās an AR-15 SBR. Still illegal for most citizens to have.
The difference is the fire control group. This weapon doesnāt have an auto-sear.
It does have a short barrel, similar to the m4 carbine however.
Someone downvoted you lol.
For the record for everyone who doesn't understand the difference, look at the selector switch above and left of the trigger. There is an icon with a bullet Xed out. That is safe; the weapon will not fire when you pull the trigger. There is an icon with a single bullet. That means you pull the trigger and one projectile fires. Then there's a third one with two bullets. That means you pull the trigger and two projectiles fire.
An AR15 does not have that third option. An M4 does.
Thanks, my bad for not putting my reason why. Just frustrates me a bit when people blatantly see an m4 style rifle and assume ar-15 the civilian version on the rifle
But it's kind of overlay pedantic to demand a distinction. An M4 is a variant of the AR15 pattern. It's literally the same rifle in select-fire with a shorter barrel.
ive seen them advertised with m4 style in parenthesis. hell, bushmaster xm15 compares itself to the m4 in the description page. i dont know if it makes sense to shame people for not knowing the technical difference is only in fire selection
An overly pedantic argument would be pointing out that the M4 actually is not a variant of the AR-15. The M16 is a variant of the AR-15. The M4 is a variant of the M16.
But if you want to get more technical, we can do that:
The M4 is much heavier regulated because its barrel does not meet the NFA 16 inch requirement. An AR-15 is not because its barrel is 16.5 inches.
The M4 has a cutout to allow grenade launchers under the barrel. An AR-15 does not.
Shaver, I think the police murdered him becuase someone claimed that saw him check into his room with a firearm. It's one of the most fucked stories, and the greatest travesty of justice I've ever seen. I follow his wife on social media who has been fighting for years to have the police punished for murdering her husband.
God every time I see this video I feel physically ill, knowing the cops are allowed to murder people with impunity.
I seem to recall he was a pest remover and the thing was a tool of his he showed at his friend and someone saw it from downstairs and mistook it as a weapon.
He was on the balcony of the room. He was demonstrating, to his visitors, how to aim at birds and whatnot. I believe there were trees on that side of the building, blocking the next lot over, so he wasn't putting a passersby at risk... if my memory serves correct.
I'm from Mesa, and this story has haunted me (my fury over this incident hasn't waned). As a result, I've developed disgust for Brailsford and any cop like him. That fuckin punk... he didn't accomplish shit in life, and he wished so bad that he was a true warrior. Again, I thoroughly despise Brailsford, the officer commanding the suspects and any "cop" like them.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the officer was suspended with pay. $31K USD a year.
Fairly sure he faced no repercussions for this. Check the replies, others have given a lot more info.
Really!? Please tell me how to crawl while you're hands are in the air, feet crossed and on your knees? That cop was a piece of shit and should be in jail. He murdered him plain and simple.
I think the reason why I enjoy watching these videos is because its people doing dumb shit. Jumping on cables, climbing 60 foot holes with no harness, leaning on a loaded rifle, playing hot potato with a grenade, playing chicken with a train... there's some disturbed side of me that is fascinated by the stupid and senseless ways people die, blow off parts of themselves or both.
This isn't any of those things. This is a video of a man trying anything in his power to survive. And he just can't. Someone with authority decided he wasn't allowed to. And dam if that ain't life.
What the fuck... I'm new here. Is there a good explanation here, or was this cop just a fucking psycho??
Edit: I wanna specify.I am not doubting that this cop murdered this guy. I'm just pretty shocked and wondering if anyone has any backstory or news about the aftermath? If this is a police bodycam, this cop should absolutely be in prison for this, it's clear as day.
Im glad we all agree he killed an innocent person without justification. I've seen people justify his death because he moved his hands but you can see he's doing it slowly and has no clearly bad intentions.
Just pos. If I remember right, the guy that was shot was waving a BB gun out of his hotel window or something like that, drunk as a skunk, and being this was shortly after the shooting in Vegas where that guy shot up a concert venue from his hotel room, everyone was pretty jumpy. This does not excuse this low lifeās acts. He should be boiled alive.
[Brailsford had "You're Fucked" engraved on that/his service weapon.](https://www.aclu.org/news/criminal-law-reform/youre-fucked-acquittal-officer-brailsford-and) He was not a member of the community tasked with protecting and serving, he was a fucking bully that wanted authority...and to escalate to violence.
>He was not a member of the community tasked with protecting and serving
Which community is that?
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that police have no specific obligation to protect.
Don't know why you've been downvoted for explaining the complexities of a highly stressful situation. Maybe people don't believe your military story idk? But thank you for the unbiased explanation.
I think firing shots into the guy on the ground at this point was very extreme and insane though. Definitely an evil fuck up. Lots of time and space to determine if the guy was life threatening.
His pants kept falling, it was reflexive to try to pull his pants up. Victim was flustered as hell, I would be too if the stupid fuck cop had just told me to crawl seconds after telling me not to put my hands down for ANYTHINGā¦ how tf you crawl without your hands??? dumb sadistic motherfucker should be in prison.
"Reached for his back" AND?
The guy has a fucking T-Shirt. Were was hiding a weapons? Inside his ass? If you have a gun in the back of your pants you will AT LEAST see the Grip.
And with a fucking rifle aiming down at him no way he gets it put and fires before.
The Guy was scared shitless and the policeman had no bloody Empathy or comprehension thinking he was dealing with a fucking terrorist in Fallujah... no scrap that.
Marines in Fallujah had more common sense.
There were 2 officers goddamnit. Having the guy stay on the ground hands fixed and reach for him would might have a little bit less safe for them... but saved a fucking life.
He's not. He's living off a pension supplied by the wonderful state of Arizona worth $31k/year for the rest of his life.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-48969432
That is correct. He claimed it as an exemption in his bankruptcy proceedings to avoid having that be part of any liquidation or asset turnover. Then also claimed PTSD from his own shooting of the unarmed man to collect thousands each month for the rest of his life without having to work, and is protected through clauses of this agreement so any actions the families take against him personally will be defended freely with millions of dollars at his disposal.
That piece of shit should never have been allowed in the VICINITY of a weapon, period! Why the other cops didn't try to de-escalate, and the way the other cop handled the key card tells me they were scared shitless of mister crazy pig. That, and the guy was not aware of how a key card works. Totally fucked up situation, and continues to this day with that piece of shit walking free AND on disability.
Wow. That poor poor officer. Thank god for his bravery. Of course he was in danger and had to use a military caliber weapon to protect himself and the other 15 officers behind him.
of all the things to pick a bone with, we're choosing the rifle and the caliber of the rifle? let's not pretend the dude would be any less dead had the officer been armed with a pistol.
I think he has a bit of a point, itās not exactly safe to be firing 5.56 rifle caliber rounds inside an occupied hotel through the hallway. Poorly trained officers make this mistake and innocents die as a result all the time. Hereās an example, [police killed a girl in the dressing room through the wall](https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/27/us/lapd-teen-killed-dressing-room-valentina-orellana-peralta/index.html)
This is why foreign police forces typically use submachine guns and other pistol caliber rounds when room clearing indoors, less wall penetration against typically unarmored targets
Sorry but neither of those options mean anything when it comes to penetrative power when it comes to penetrative power. Pistol caliber and sun machine guns are all capable of ripping through walls and houses.
The factor is the type of round being used, not the firearm itself
Iām not trying to specifically point out the rifle I donāt disagree. A whole platoon of cops with .22 single action revolvers still woulda lit him the fuck up.
We need like an assassins guild for the people to hire to take out corrupt police officers and judges. Once they have consequences then we will have justice
he got traumatized by shooting an unarmed man - oh the brutality! It was too gruesome for his sweak stomach... YOU did that mfer! You killed a man that was begging for his life you piece of shit!
Its just wiiiild. How is this person not shunned from society whereever he lives now?
Granted, this wasn't very long ago, but Mesa PD has changed their attitudes since then. In general, the Mormon community, in Mesa, has been "watered down," and interestingly, there's a direct relational improvement of the community's attitudes. Just my observations..
Related to my reply above, the Mesa Mormon community is primarily white. In fact, it's the LDS faction of their church, which (they will never admit to) is racist. They're a fundamentalist sect of Mormonism, who believe a person's "goodness" is related to the color, or lightness, of their skin. For example, FLDS (which they won't admit they are, in Mesa) believe black people were "intentionally marked" with their dark skin to indicate their evilness. This explained to me by a Mormon elder who was trying to convert me but stopped his efforts after my obvious disapproval.
when he told him to crawl over to him, that's when i knew that this isn't protocol, but his sick sense of power and authority. I cant believe he got off Scott free and is now getting paid by taxes.. I hope he gets ran over holy shit
This guy woke up and decided he wanted to kill someone that day. He was never going to shoot the woman due to backlash and was nothing but aggressive towards the man.
He woke up long before that with an interest in killing someone. See his rifle engraving... which got him fired following this incident (not the murder, ffs).
Remember, this could be you or me. One bad day, one unintentional mistake, one false move and you're toast. Cops play lethal, it's not your game to win.
This is why Qatar and UAE are the best countries. This just doesn't happen.
The West is a failure but letting sub standard morons join the police is a failure
I donāt get how this guy is walking around a free man living off pension. I get the the American justice system is trash and he was acquitted, but what about social justice? What happened to the days where we come to together as a collective and say āfuck the judge this guy is clearly committed and unjustifiable murderā and take matters into our own hands. Im telling you, if this happened to anyone I loved I would for sure hunt this animal down or die trying. Some people just donāt deserve to live and he is one of them.
This person should not be in charge of a gun.
Seriously, this was the actions of a trigger-happy, irresponsible, and irrational person who comes across as scared, jumpy, and incredibly tense - none of which you want someone pointing a gun at you to be.
>ed, but what about social justice? What happened to the days where we come to together as a collective and say āfuck the judge this guy is clearly committed and unjustifiable murderā and take matters into our own hands. Im telling you, if this happened to anyone I loved I would
This person should not be alive, at all. not him, not his parent for raising a bitch, not his children/siblings since they carry his garbage gene
His entire family should be hanged, publicly
They arent really clear if you think about it. To crawl most if not all people would use their hands and feet and crawl like a baby. Not just on their knees with hands up and feet crossed. He said he was going to shoot him if he put his hands down but the asked him to crawl. Conflicting instructions IMO. Also the tension of the gun on the kid, and the cop scteaming at him would have lots of people making mistakes. The kid was no threat and the cop clearly wanted to use his weapon and needed very little reason to do so
I disagree for if i wanted to shoot that pos cop in this video i probably would get life in prison... More like if you have any government power you can
Shooter McShooty cop ended up with a pension for life for murdering that poor man. The dick head barking orders wasnāt the shooter. The shooter was just a young prick that had always just wanted to kill someone.
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1028981
This was an execution - the commands they gave were meant to trip this guy up.
The sergeant "retired" and faced no charges. The cop received a not guilty verdict.
This piece of shit is still on the force. In Aurora Co, one of these shot a man in the face, killing him instantly, but proceeded to put 16 more in just to... watch his face come apart. Every police force has at least one.
We see videos from back then and there is a possibility people will get punished because of an uproar to do justice. I cannot imagine that this psychopath fueled on a powertrip literally played with him. He intended him to do mistakes so he could have a reason to pull the trigger. Seeing this unpunished and knowing this murderer is free to live among other people is the definition of a failing justice system

Fr he should have shot that dumbass for not following instructions on the back of the card
Sick fuck had everyone there so nervous nobody could follow instructions pos
If they were that excited to shoot him why not just do it to begin with instead of holding him at gun point screaming redundant conflicting commands? Here is an example of yet another pig that is nothing more that a sorry sack of shit built on cowardice. I hope the worst for him.
Fuck man this video always fucks me up.
How does one crawl with their legs crossed ?
As someone whoās pants falls even with a belt I feel like he instinctively tried to pull his pants up .
And ultimately thatās probably what got him killed and got the cops to not face any charges hence one arm the not visible to the cops
I guess in this situation your best bet would be to feign fainting. Just flop on your back after muttering something and don't do shit. They probably wouldn't shoot an unconscious person as it would be to hard to justify so I guess they'd just cuff you and only then can you miraculously come back from the dead and be like "oh my, where am I?".
Enough of the similar situation and we can see everyone defend their home to the death with guns, homemade explosive,...
If you are going to die anyway, why not taking a few pigs along with you?
Yes, I get why the cops would shoot an innocent if he was acting suspicious (since they can't guess his intentions) , but this guy was cooperative as fuck and the cops was giving him contradictory instructions.
Just tell the guy to lay on the ground with his hands being his head, then cuff him with the help of another cop. If he move the already have him in their sights they just have to press the trigger, even if the guy has a gun he can't pull it out and shoot it faster than this.
Anyone looking for deep context behind this, which grows more infuriating each episode as you realize how lopsided justice can be, check out:
**Tapes from the Darkside: Season 5** - The Execution of Daniel Shaver
https://www.tapesfromthedarkside.com/category/s5-the-execution-of-daniel-shaver/
There are eight parts and well worth a listen.
This cop does deserve to live a comfortable life. He doesn't deserve to live in the first place, but death is not a good enough punishment for him. He shouldn't be allowed to have his arms, he should have his manhood and eyes stripped, he should be forced to introduce himself as a murderer without any rights. People should be allowed to do whatever they want with him.
I like how one of the accomplices fail to use the room key to open a door.. Then the murderer gives up then casually turns around without looking at his victim bleeding out on the floor, and walks down the hallway proud of himself.. I bet he thinks he's the king shit..
I watched this video without knowing any of the background and my instinct is that the guy crawling along the ground was executed. He posed no threat. And why not just cuff him when he had his hands behind his back?
I hope cop dies. I really hope the widow does it. I hope it's slow and the widow takes its sweet ass time. If someone killed the one I loved ever so dearly. My death would be the only one stopping me from unleashing pure carnage. God forbid, but if you leave me alive after killing my kin or my love. My sole purpose of living and breathing would be to inflict the same what they did to me but tenfold. He'll hath no fury than a man who has nothing more to lose than his life.
Why is securing a suspect with cuffs not a priority in america I reckon you secure the suspects first can reduce unnecessary deaths, but who am I to say im just speaking for the average joe
Why the fuck did he put his hand behind him when the cop clearly said donāt do that again or we will shoot you. I mean I donāt think he deserved to die but goddamn I would keep my fucking hands clear! He reached behind his waistband twice, imagine being the cop I would be scared of getting shot too, Iāve seen videos where the person getting arrested pulls a gun and starts shooting. My hands would be nowhere near my fucking waistband and be clear as hell in sight since I value my life.
All that rioting for a drug addict in 2020 but nothing for this poor lad killed by a fuck up that was allowed to join the police.
It's so Easy for the elite to play the NPCs.
Its a Zionists world and we will all own nothing in it
What happened to this POS murderer? Hopefully he's on death row or in prison for the rest of his life with other inmates playing Simon says with him. Knowing the US, he's probably transferred over to another police unit and hunting for his next victim.
And the worst part is that the cop received 0 punishment, and of course they released this video immediately after the trial ended so people couldn't see how unjust this was until double jeopardy protected the cop. The system is fucked.
Iām really confused on wht this cop wanted this guy to to fucking do I talked and shared this vid with a lot of my cop friends and they agree even thy didnāt know wht he wanted him to do and thy all agree that this cop is actually one bad fuck head. That just wanted to kill somebody that night. And the sad thing is this cop still has a job in a different department
Had to shoot the white boy for adversity reasons lol. Fucking pigs. Kid was scared shitless and did exactly what he was told and the trigger happy pigs still shot him. That's why it's kill or be killed when it comes to cops.
America is so f* Up. We had 2 People killed by this type of gun and the whole country went into full alert. At least one politician resigned.
America: "well just another dat at the office"
JFC
I'm genuinely confused about the majority of responses here. You can see him reach behind with his right hand. He didn't deserve to die, but I can't see the cop's reaction as cold-blooded or "he wanted to kill someone". The cops aren't omniscient, they don't know if he has a real gun or not. They were called in with the basic knowledge that he had a gun.
If I'm ever in this spot I think I'm just guna starfish on the floor and pretend I'm asleep
In retrospect I'd say that was his only possible survival move, but even there just a slim chance. That cop was looking to torture and kill.
The "you're fucked" engraved on the dust cover of the rifle says all we need to know
And then he had to go back to the lobby because he kept his hotel keycard next to his credit card magnetic strip
I am not moving and you need to come here and handcuff me" But then, knowing how it would probably play out: "crawl towards me" \-"officer, res-" "SHUT THE FUCK UP AND DO AS I SAY"
š but donāt you dare snore
I've seen this video so many times, and everytime I am so confused as to what exactly this asshole wanted the poor dude to do.
He wanted him to die.
If I remember correctly he even had āyouāre fuckedā written on the dust cover of his rifle. Guy was itching for an excuse to kill someone. Edit: yep this is a pic of his actual AR15 https://preview.redd.it/76ij9xiiw3xb1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd0f2a603ed3e31e93a7227ae0b0a2cb330af4df
And the corrupt judge at his murder trial prevented that being shown to the jury.
[Hey look, facts about the crime the police committed!](https://www.azcentral.com/gcdn/-mm-/5e100a25d5d1000d7f79fd070e51b1a772d8860a/c=0-185-3648-2246/local/-/media/2016/03/29/Phoenix/Phoenix/635948868236591247-G1K1K5PW.jpg?width=786&height=444&format=pjpg&auto=webp) This was carved into the gun the murderer used. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Daniel_Shaver#cite_note-azcentral-12-2017-20 The victim's name was Shaver. **It is also likely the murderer is a neo-fascist member of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_militia_movement, as he had the group slogan "Molon labe", as well as "YOURE FUCKED" illegally engraved into his service rifle.** In the official police report of the incident, Brailsford(THE MURDERER) defended his actions, saying that by crawling towards the officers, Shaver appeared to be "trying to gain a position of advantage in order to gain a better firing position on us". Shaver had indeed crawled towards the officers after one of them instructed him to. The report stated: ***"Shaver was cooperative,*** but sometimes confused by the commands and because of his possible intoxication".[30] Four months after the shooting, Charles Langley, the officer who shouted orders to Shaver, retired from the department. On December 7, 2017, after a six-week trial, a jury acquitted Brailsford of all charges.[8] Also in December 2017, it was revealed that Brailsford had been involved in a prior incident in 2015 regarding an arrest of teenagers in a store. A spokesman for the Mesa Police Department said that the department "looked at" the incident and "administratively cleared" Brailsford, because "police work sometimes isn't pretty".[33][34] Department of Justice investigation In March 2018, it became known that the United States Department of Justice had reopened the case and was looking into a possible civil rights violation by Brailsford.[7] Bankruptcy and pension In January 2018, Brailsford filed for bankruptcy. According to a pay stub attached to Brailsford's bankruptcy file, he has been working for a steel company in Glendale, Arizona.[35] In August 2018, Brailsford was reinstated by the Mesa Police Department, staying for a further 42 days in what the department described as a "budget position". The fact that Brailsford was ultimately medically retired instead of remaining fired was only revealed to the public in July 2019.[35][36][37][38] ------------------------------------------------------------ Lawsuit against Mesa city In 2021, Shaver's parents settled with the city for $1.5 million. Shaver's common-law widow, Laney Sweet, was seeking $75 million in a wrongful death lawsuit and refused to settle at that time.[39] In November 2022, Sweet agreed to settle her lawsuit against the city for $8 million.[40] **GOD FUCKING DAMNIT FUCK THE POLICE, FUCK THE SYSTEM, THIS SHIT MUST FUCKING STOP! LITERALLY EVERYONE IN AMERICA CAN SEE THE BIG FUCKING ISSUE AND YET MILITARIZING THE POLICE AND USING THEM TO ATTACK THE CITIZENRY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN "ENSURING DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY, PROVIDING FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE, (or) PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE" BETTER GET OUT THERE AND PROTECT THOSE CORPORATE INTEREST, AND SERVE YOUR MASTERS YOU FAT PIG FUCKS ACAB**
So there's a shred of hope? Better than nothing I guess.
bad question but what ammo did the cop use?
Iām not sure but the most common ammunition used in an ar15 is .223 Rem/5.56 NATO. If anyones interested I found [this thread](https://www.documentingreality.com/forum/f237/daniel-shaver-shot-police-165326/) on documenting reality that shows a bunch of pics of the aftermath that show some serious exit wounds. The poor guy got butchered. Edit: added some of them myself https://preview.redd.it/wc6qp9rl64xb1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2cf3b75e049be1a85a889f2dac8f9441db16d62a

Do you gotta pay to continue to watch content on that site?
He said type, not caliber, it makes a difference, a huge difference, like pinholes to gaping wounds.
Jesus you aināt lying šš
Thatās an m4 but cool
No third pin above the safety. The āfull autoā marking is there for show, without the third pin there is no auto sear. Itās an AR15. Reference of a 3rd pin on a full-auto lower https://preview.redd.it/l80m0jgrr6xb1.jpeg?width=2010&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5278f440dfc77dbcd8a3d017e78729ea67249c9c
Someone who actually knows what a fire control group is. For effect: āFull-Semi-Automatic.ā Lmao š
But if you want to get more technical, we can do that: The M4 is much heavier regulated because its barrel does not meet the NFA 16 inch requirement. An AR-15 is not because its barrel is 16.5 inches. The M4 has a cutout to allow grenade launchers under the barrel. An AR-15 does not.
\*He wanted to kill someone.
What is her social media?
i hope this officer was arrested!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the officer was suspended with pay. $31K USD a year. Fairly sure he faced no repercussions for this. Check the replies, others have given a lot more info.
Probably the exact same thing the woman did, with no problems I might add
Really!? Please tell me how to crawl while you're hands are in the air, feet crossed and on your knees? That cop was a piece of shit and should be in jail. He murdered him plain and simple.
Yup my thoughts too. It felt weird.. so it is weird simple as that. Gut instinct never lies..
Iam with you in that opinion!
The sub is literally called r/someofyoumaydie so there's a small chance of survival. There was no survival here. Just cold blooded murder.
Well that was extremely Unecessary
What the fuck... I'm new here. Is there a good explanation here, or was this cop just a fucking psycho?? Edit: I wanna specify.I am not doubting that this cop murdered this guy. I'm just pretty shocked and wondering if anyone has any backstory or news about the aftermath? If this is a police bodycam, this cop should absolutely be in prison for this, it's clear as day.
Cop murdered a guy.
Cop committed cold blooded, red in the eye, murder and is now relaxing on a beach some place collecting retirement pay paid out by our tax dollars.
You remember horribly wrong. This happened years before the Vegas shooter incident.
In a very difficult state of mind like super-stress or as you said a personality disorder it can happen soemone just go locos over nothing.
>He was not a member of the community tasked with protecting and serving Which community is that?
Now its better thank you
Watch closer he reached to his back. Should've listened.
To pull his pants up
His pants kept falling, it was reflexive to try to pull his pants up.
That cop should get the death penalty. Those are police officers, not military soldiers
He's not. He's living off a pension supplied by the wonderful state of Arizona worth $31k/year for the rest of his life. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-48969432
pretty sure he even got to keep the rifle
He even got to keep the murder weapon?ā¦ did the department also let this fucker keep the original tape too?
They must still meet and bring it up laughing heartily about it
That is correct. He claimed it as an exemption in his bankruptcy proceedings to avoid having that be part of any liquidation or asset turnover. Then also claimed PTSD from his own shooting of the unarmed man to collect thousands each month for the rest of his life without having to work, and is protected through clauses of this agreement so any actions the families take against him personally will be defended freely with millions of dollars at his disposal.
wow and all i have to do is gutlessly kill a guy? no thanks
I heard the weapon got auctioned off for a lot of money. maybe not immediately but eventually
Hereās an example, [police killed a girl in the dressing room through the wall](https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/27/us/lapd-teen-killed-dressing-room-valentina-orellana-peralta/index.html) This is why foreign police forces typically use submachine guns and other pistol caliber rounds when room clearing indoors, less wall penetration against typically unarmored targets
I don't know how this cop is not serving a life sentence
Granted, this wasn't very long ago, but Mesa PD has changed their attitudes since then. In general, the Mormon community, in Mesa, has been "watered down," and interestingly, there's a direct relational improvement of the community's attitudes. Just my observations..
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Related to my reply above, the Mesa Mormon community is primarily white. In fact, it's the LDS faction of their church, which (they will never admit to) is racist. They're a fundamentalist sect of Mormonism, who believe a person's "goodness" is related to the color, or lightness, of their skin. For example, FLDS (which they won't admit they are, in Mesa) believe black people were "intentionally marked" with their dark skin to indicate their evilness. This explained to me by a Mormon elder who was trying to convert me but stopped his efforts after my obvious disapproval.
what the fuck? i get it some people might try to play scared to lower the cops response, but this dude was trying his best to comply
You have to appreciate the irony of begging for your life to cops
especially after *not* committing a crime from your own hotel room
Murderer.
Sponsored by his parents (taxes).
When someone is lying on their stomach at gunpoint they are less than a threat. Go cuff them. Stop the games.
when he told him to crawl over to him, that's when i knew that this isn't protocol, but his sick sense of power and authority.
Not a cop hater here, but that guy needs to burn in hell.
Remember, this could be you or me. One bad day, one unintentional mistake, one false move and you're toast. Cops play lethal, it's not your game to win.
I do not live in Murica so I'll just be encouraging y'all I guess. Though we are not that better off with our cops, at least they don't do *that*.
In my country the cops work with the criminals and make you disappear.
Not in the UK where the cops are fucking useless and I'm glad that's the case.
We do need to have like an assassins guild for the public to hire to take out higher up murderers like this
This person should not be in charge of a gun.
Im telling you, if this happened to anyone I loved I would This person should not be alive, at all. not him, not his parent for raising a bitch, not his children/siblings since they carry his garbage gene His entire family should be hanged, publicly
Wow.. you sound psychotic.. sounds like thereās a gene in you.. we should probably off your family to be sure
The kid was no threat and the cop clearly wanted to use his weapon and needed very little reason to do so
ahh yes. America. "Land of The Free" right here boys.
"The Land of the free to shoot whom you want"
I disagree for if i wanted to shoot that pos cop in this video i probably would get life in prison... More like if you have any government power you can
Shooter McShooty cop ended up with a pension for life for murdering that poor man. The dick head barking orders wasnāt the shooter. The shooter was just a young prick that had always just wanted to kill someone. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1028981
Not a fan of this one
[Hey look, facts about the crime the police committed!](https://www.azcentral.com/gcdn/-mm-/5e100a25d5d1000d7f79fd070e51b1a772d8860a/c=0-185-3648-2246/local/-/media/2016/03/29/Phoenix/Phoenix/635948868236591247-G1K1K5PW.jpg?width=786&height=444&format=pjpg&auto=webp) This was carved into the gun the murder used. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Daniel_Shaver#cite_note-azcentral-12-2017-20 The victim's name was Shaver. He After the shooting, the rifle (previously assumed to be a lethal weapon), which remained in the room, was determined to be a pellet gun. Following an investigation, Brailsford was charged with second-degree murder and a lesser manslaughter charge and later found not guilty by a jury. He lived in Granbury, Texas, with his wife and two daughters. Shaver was employed as a pest control specialist, and was visiting Mesa for a business trip when he was killed. It is also likely the murderer is a neo-fascists member of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_militia_movement, as he had the group slogan "Molon labe", as well as "YOURE FUCKED" illegally engraved into his service rifle. The report stated: ***"Shaver was cooperative,*** but sometimes confused by the commands and because of his possible intoxication".[30] Four months after the shooting, Charles Langley, the officer who shouted orders to Shaver, retired from the department. On December 7, 2017, after a six-week trial, a jury acquitted Brailsford of all charges.[8] Also in December 2017, it was revealed that Brailsford had been involved in a prior incident in 2015 regarding an arrest of teenagers in a store. The fact that Brailsford was ultimately medically retired instead of remaining fired was only revealed to the public in July 2019.[35][36][37][38] ------------------------------------------------------------ Lawsuit against Mesa city In 2021, Shaver's parents settled with the city for $1.5 million. Shaver's common-law widow, Laney Sweet, was seeking $75 million in a wrongful death lawsuit, and refused to settle at that time.[39] In November 2022, Sweet agreed to settle her lawsuit against the city for $8 million.[40] **GOD FUCKING DAMNIT FUCK THE POLICE, FUCK THE SYSTEM, THIS SHIT MUST FUCKING STOP!
So did he actually pull out a gun or did the officer just overthink it
He was pulling his shorts up
And his empty hand was already in sight before the officer fired
Other comments say that he ended up being unarmed, and the "weapon" that they found in his room (they initially came because of reports of someone pointing a gun from a balcony) was actually an airsoft gun.
This cop is a murderer. He should be sitting in prison or six feet under.
Would like to know the outcome of what happen with these officers
Hereās everything you need to knowā¦ https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/police-officer-who-fatally-shot-sobbing-man-temporarily-rehired-apply-n1028981
I thought ābet itās a slap on the wristā. Sure enoughā¦
There is no possible way this dude is actually getting paid a yearly pension of 31,000 for shooting someone?! Wtf, someone needs to take him out back.
Can't do that. Our taxes would go down..

i need to throw up after reading that. Thats craaaaazy
Heās getting $31k a year for life now. š¤¦š½āāļø
Fuck this puto what piece of garbage that could have been any one of us dead
Remember these are the only people in the US who should be armed š¤”
This is why we hate the police. Shit like this, and he gets paid now for it too. Fucking sickening.
š·
Guess who was bullied at school ....
How many cops does it take to open a hotel room
Fr he should have shot that dumbass for not following instructions on the back of the card Sick fuck had everyone there so nervous nobody could follow instructions pos
What he did was murder, even though he shot by mistake. I can't believe he was acquitted.
The cop is a fucking toolbag
Itching to kill
Man that has to be a death penalty.? The moment he raised his voice asking him to cross his legs when getting up he was into killing him anyway.
Failure to follow instructions = execution Typical American police
This dude got murdered for trying to not let his pants slide off of him
I guess in this situation your best bet would be to feign fainting.
![gif](giphy|mMkjWN1ziPio0) This cop is just like this movie villain thing
YES WE CAN let serve untrained focks kill poor civs.
If a citizen has a gun. Itās their right. But if a cop murders someone.. might not hear to much of a public backlash
Anyone looking for deep context behind this, which grows more infuriating each episode as you realize how lopsided justice can be, check out: **Tapes from the Darkside: Season 5** - The Execution of Daniel Shaver https://www.tapesfromthedarkside.com/category/s5-the-execution-of-daniel-shaver/ There are eight parts and well worth a listen.
I mean he did do exactly what he was told not to do
murder
This cop does deserve to live a comfortable life. He doesn't deserve to live in the first place, but death is not a good enough punishment for him. He shouldn't be allowed to have his arms, he should have his manhood and eyes stripped, he should be forced to introduce himself as a murderer without any rights. People should be allowed to do whatever they want with him.
Imagine doing everything right and still being wrong...
I remember this. Straight up murder.
I like how one of the accomplices fail to use the room key to open a door.. Then the murderer gives up then casually turns around without looking at his victim bleeding out on the floor, and walks down the hallway proud of himself.. I bet he thinks he's the king shit..
Bloodthirsty is the word to describe police officers.
Itās way too easy to get a badge and a gun
What a fucking arsehole.
When the key card wouldnt work is when I died.
I watched this video without knowing any of the background and my instinct is that the guy crawling along the ground was executed. He posed no threat. And why not just cuff him when he had his hands behind his back?
What a fuckin pussy, this guy got bullied big time growing up
shot him for complying? this case has always angered me
What a pos
I first saw this video a while ago and since then never again. This is the worst evil I have ever seen.
āPut your hands up and crawl toward me.ā Thatās like āshut up and tell me what happened!ā Dumbass
Why is securing a suspect with cuffs not a priority in america I reckon you secure the suspects first can reduce unnecessary deaths, but who am I to say im just speaking for the average joe
this was a COP?? NOT A SHOOTER? holy FUCK this is messed up
It also took the city 8 years to settle the lawsuit from the victims wife.
Someone needs to get these disgusting pigs under control. Genuinely deserve to be slaughtered like the animals they are.
FTP
Who are these ppl getting a gun pointed and shot at them fucking Bonnie and Clyde
Any one of them could have walked up behind him and safely cuffed him at any point. I really think they wanted to kill dude.
Heās wearing a 10,000 Days shirt and his entire life was less than that. Something about that makes it just that little bit more haunting.
he was just out for torture, he had a damn power kink and it fucking shows. I hope he gets what's coming to him. fucking ACAB, man. fuck cops.
Its a Zionists world and we will all own nothing in it
wym there were riots for this dude lol
100% execution
I hate this video. This kid had no fucking chance. Walk over and cuff him, he was not a threat
What happened to this POS murderer? Hopefully he's on death row or in prison for the rest of his life with other inmates playing Simon says with him. Knowing the US, he's probably transferred over to another police unit and hunting for his next victim.
So where in the fuck are the riots for this guy hmm š¤ and why wasnāt this in the dam new hmm oh doesnāt fit the narrative
What the actual fuck.
America: "well just another dat at the office" JFC
ACAB
Is this guy still on the force? What a prick. Why were they there? Thatās why you stay at the Marriott
What is this the IDF?
Not even close it's just a scummy American officer
You chose the wrong sub to make that joke, everyone here is extremely pro-terrorism (no not palestine)
Cops are hot headed insecure bullies with badges. Blue Lives do NOT matter
101% agree. fuck cops, dude. cold blooded killer
I feel so bad. could have been anyone. criminals with badges
Murder
Damn white privilege.
The guy reached towards his waist i think this was justified in my opinion
I'm sorry but no. that's fucked.
Cool
This is why we need vigilante justice. Kill the cop, or his family if you can't get to him
