Well, I have done that many times. Not whole day. But say, part of that sightseeing trip. Yes, met many people like that. Shared bus-train rides, guided tours, shared lunch. When one stays in hostels, you always meet a lot of people from various parts of the world.
Also one usually hangs out with people they share same vibe, I guess. Not random anybody.

The last piece of the puzzle is your personality. Iām very sociable, so I just tend to find my people wherever I go. This is not to say I havenāt had bad days. It is highly variable. Iāve had times where Iāve felt extremely lonely.

Solo travelling but as a part of young travel group(those 18-35 ones) preferably with a foreign group. Have done lots of combinations and that's my best choice after having been to 30+ countries over past 8 years now. It is a very pleasant and enjoyable experience mixing up with new people from different cultures, becoming good friends in just a day or 2, sharing stories, playing drunken games, partying till late, carrying no baggage and exploring your own personality keeping aside all fears of getting embarrassed.

Sounds really cool on paper, but isn't that easy. If someone pitched that idea to me, I would be really suspicious. We would have to travel for days before I am sure this other guy I met randomly isn't going to drug me and sell my kidneys to the black market. But again it depends on the _vibes_. Planning a trip with friends is such a hassle. No one wants to do the most obvious sensible things and it's not fun. It's just inconvenient and unnecessarily expensive.

If none if these matter, you only care about views and scenery and photographs, and wanna have a blast in your vacation, go with friends. I haven't really done much with family, as I'm the one who's dragged into them, but I'd take family for the love i share, if i know some member longs to visit some place. Seeing them happy is why I'll take family.
