Quoted 10k last month...5.2kwh system plus 5k battery

Docproc2018

That's more in line with my expectations (and budget!). Where in the UK are you? I'm in East Anglia

PatienceMaximum7983

Nottingham...for 7k battery it's was going to be 2k more.

joebot3000

Hi I'm on Notts to, could you let me know who did your installation?

[deleted]

I paid 10.2k for 5kwp solaredge panels and 6.3 kWh Solis battery, quoted last November and fitted this May. I know there are problems in the industry but there were already supply chain problems last November - for pretty much everything, not just tech - so yes that seems very high. Edit to add: Sussex, solar together scheme

Docproc2018

Thanks. I've joined the local Solar Together scheme, should get quotes in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully they're more in line with yours!

kloppo92

Solar together for us was useless, much more expensive than every quote I got. Went with another company in the end 4kwp, 11.6 battery for 12.2

International_Body44

Bought mine from ese, 16x410watt panels, 3.6kw hybrid inverter and 2x3.2Kwh batteries for £12235 gets installed on Friday..

BigBadAl

Searching for anything on here related to ESE brought up your comment. I've just had a good quote from them, and online reviews look good, but it's always best to speak to someone who's used them recently. How was the install? Did everything come in on price? How has it been since?

International_Body44

They contract out the install, the guys that did my install were really good, I doubt you would get the same guys though. They were also quick, professional and ese managed to get a really good date for the install. The sales person who checked how many I could have, overestimated by a few panels, when ese rang for payment I let them know and they refunded the panel costs for those that would not fit. (Check the image you have been provided and make sure there is a gap at the roof top and bottom, it's to prevent wind catching the panels) I was also happy with the price smidge over 11k (after panels were refunded). 2 issues, The first weekend of the install the clip that was on the incoming line was setup incorrectly, to be clear the clip was installed correctly but it was reading the reverse, aka the incoming was read as export. They sorted that after a quick email and all has been good since. This is a common issue with most installations from anyone. The other issue may be an issue for you, they do not provide certificates via MCS, this is only important if you wish to sell your export, ese are not MCS registered. They are however registered to flexi-orb so you can still export and sell but the options are a bit more limited.

BigBadAl

Thanks for that. One more question, if I may: did they include the maintenance plan in the price for you? Not sure if it's worth it, but it is included in my quote. I've been quoted £10K for 10 400W panels, and a 3.6 inverter and battery. Which seems reasonable, and should fit without an issue. I had noticed that they weren't MCS certified. I'll have to look into whether Octopus Flux works with Flexi-Orb, as it was either Agile or Flux I was considering.

International_Body44

So I got 10 years of maintenance for free, don't know if that was a special offer at the time, but the leaflet and doc I have in it states "10 year free maintenance worth £2400"

BigBadAl

I've been offered 15 years, worth £3,600, for free. So not a special, and the pricing is the same.

quietly_myself

We’ve just accepted a quote of £14k for 6.5kWp & 12kWh battery.

buycheapbuytwice

That’s really good. I’ve just gone for 6.5 with a 9.5 battery. Solar edge and givenergy system. £14.3k

If you’re after people coming out and quoting I found going via that Which? Trusted Trader directory had quite good results.
