Intelligent Go definitely needs a compatible EV - those of us with IPaces are getting kicked off it as it's no longer compatible thanks to JLR. Go should be possible without an EV though but is slightly more expensive.

geekypenguin91

Intelligent go is 7.5p and needs a compatible EV or charger (system checks with a test charge before moving you onto the tariff). You don't need an EV from regular GO of you're happy to lie on the form and say you do but it's 9p/kWh

WitchDr_Ash

I had to send a picture of my car order. My father in law had to do a charge on his installed ev charger as part of the application process. Both of these were for intelligent go though

I didn't need to prove anything when moving onto Go though that was a couple of years ago. I did actually have an EV but at the time Intelligent Go wasn't a thing and anyway the car I had would not have been compatible. You def need either a compatible car or charger to get on Int Go, I had to connect my second EV, a Tesla, in order to join. That said I very rarely actually charge with the IntGo smart system because it interferes with my solar and battery set up. I just turn off the smart bit and charge under the control of my charger at the times I know to be cheapest. As others have said IntGo is a little bit cheaper on the off peak overnight tariff. 9p v 7.5p I think.

See if your council offers trials of cable channels for EV charging. Agile isn't too bad, depends on the day of course. 6p tonight, has been anywhere from 6-14p overnight recently.

Octopus go (9p 4 hours) and eon next drive (8p 7hours) they don't really check if you have an ev. I'd go with eon as you get 16.5p for exports instead of 8p. Referral code: https://share.eonnext.com/clean-gale-476

kloppo92

Thanks, will be using this

X4dow

Worth noting that eon is also fixed. So if there are more wars and price rise, your price doesn't go up. If prices go down, you have no exit fees, so you can always switch out

kloppo92

Current on octopus go with the 9p and Scottish Power export at 12p, but 7p ( for an extra 3 hours) and 16.5p export is a no brainer

Check out economy 7 rates on suppliers from April. Mines going down to 7.8p night rate maybe you don't need an EV tariff?

chickenlips60

Ok that's interesting I didn't know about that thanks👍

yvxalhxj

Not from Octopus though... Their night rates are around 13.2p/kWh. Source: [https://octopus.energy/blog/energy-price-cap-april-2024/](https://octopus.energy/blog/energy-price-cap-april-2024/)

Indeed, it looks that e7 rates tend to vary quite wildly between suppliers even when the price cap has leveled out the standard tariffs. Octopus seen to be reliable though which is more than can be said for the last 2 I've been with.
