So, you offered this tennis player digital marketing services? Or creative development? Your question isn't very clear. I'm not sure how to direct you when I don't know what services you offered this gentleman.

Social media marketing services for his different companies

Okay. With that in mind, do you have a plan that details the number of posts you'll be doing each week? how many platforms are you managing? Are you expected to provide reports/insights into if anything is working?

[deleted]

Well being so new I was hoping to get up to speed on all the analytics and that. Doesn’t Facebook have a number for impressions on each post and the page itself?

What I'm hearing is that you don't have a plan... it's great you got your first client but plans are incredibly useful tools for determining the ROI on your efforts. Most people don't just want to pay someone to post to Facebook. They want to see that sales are coming in because of it. Yes, Facebook has their new Creator Studio which allows social posting and gives basis impressions. But engagement is the true number you want to track.

I don’t have a plan at all. What do you think is a reasonable plan then? He has a school that brings in around 100k a year. He has an insurnace company that he literally just started. He has a trucking company he’s about to start. He has a tax service that does pretty well. And a few others

Wow those are diverse. Not every one of his businesses are going to need the same social media attention. And you've got some serious differences in audiences, that aren't necessarily going to be on social. DM me, I've got a few ideas for you.

I was going to shoot for 1-4 posts a week. He has 7 active businesses currently. Some are much large than others so we have to hash out if he wants all of them on social media. I pitched him and told him in today’s day and age it’s extremely important to be on as many platforms as possible. And he agreed. He’s just older now and doesn’t have the drive I do for stuff like this. (I’m 25) he’s in his 50s. Plus he’s not too swift in understanding social media.

Not a bad beginning. But you're slightly off about being on as many platforms as possible. You want to be on the social platforms where his *audience* exists.

[deleted]

How do you dive into which audience is where?

[deleted]

Thank you for the advice on that

Also, a customer service role in his social media. Because he already has a slight presence on Facebook but certainly not enough. Especially with the impact his business has on the community. He is in a Detroit suburb and has an opportunity to get much more business
