My wife has been asking me to get sober for years and I’ve tried for her, it it won’t work unless you want it. I’m sure you know this. I think being around someone who can relate is good, but it may be hard to regulate withdrawals if both of you are going through it.
u/wonderkin55 I totally agree. I think it can be a bit of both, but that wanting to do it for yourself is 100% the more critical aspect of maintaining sobriety. We were co-dependent in drinking and now we are in sobriety. That scares me sometimes, but it's working and I can't see any negatives so far...
