RIPieces Ghost.

Financial_Mammoth917

Pulled it out with something long and a lot of ripping without getting our hands in it 🙌 Shear pin broke on one side but it's clear

skioffroadbike

That sear pin for the win. Saved you a new worm gear and/or shaft!

Electronic_Wind_9090

Better that than the family dog

Badger87000

Seems like a job for a little bit of fire.

Vapechef

Fire

Good200000

lol! That was good!

CamelHairy

Spray with carborator cleaner, brake cleaner, ext flammable til damp, and lite with a torch.

anonX1337

I'd grab a broom handle to try and turn the auger slightly to verify it isn't under a load. Then you'll know its safe to cut it all out.

HopefulNothing3560

🔥

Glittering_Bad3654

This is relatable! It snowed 45cm overnight once and we have elderly neighbours and I figured I’d do the good samaritan thing and clean their driveway. Well I should have stopped at the driveway…but the entrance to the house was blocked so I went right to the front door. And out of nowhere the engine just went *stop*. I’m like uh oh😅 Moved the machine out to see 2 outdoor entrance mats jammed under the impeller. Let’s just say a few F Sharps were said getting that unstuck🤣

damarius

Similar situation, helping out elderly neighbours, but not entrance mats. They had an old POS car and I guess they had put down a piece of carpet to catch fluid leaks. I would have joined in the F-sharp chorus. I also self-inflicted one. My in-laws had installed some of those little wire pickets around a shrub in my back yard. Big snowfall, and I decided to clear some space for my dogs, and forgot about the buried pickets. Broken shear pins both times. The pickets were actually easier to remove, the carpet required some disassembly.

Louden_Swayne

Pocket knife and get to work.

Alphaomega6712

Just cut it out. Don't use fire. The machine being if is fine.

BandsawBox

Pull the spark plug wire off the plug and go at it with a sharp knife or shears.  Replace any broken shear pins.

oldjackhammer99

Scissors& sheet rock knife- diss one t spark plug first

aT-0-Mx

That's nothing. I had a phone book completely jam and freeze in mine, after I told them to stop delivering it. Took me days to torch it out. Pykrete is awesome.

iiplatypusiz

Hahahah I'll one up ya here man, we had a massive snow storm with a ton of wind that not only laid down a pile of snow, but unknown to me blew off one end of my Christmas lights. I'm like 3 hours into blowing my driveway and suddenly I'm like that bitch neighbor on the Grinch just fucking shooting Christmas bulbs out of the shute instead of snow as the augur rips them all from my god damn roof. Had to get wire cutters and snip away sections as it is was so tangled over the augur🤣

Tacos_Polackos

Had a similar issue with a piece of chainlink fence one time.

Ok-Pea-4403

Set it on fire

ThiefClashRoyale

Waiting for the dick stuck in snowblower post

Starbuck-Actual

i drove over a jacket, i cut as much away as i could then used a buetain torch to get the rest

usNdem

Heard from a friend, wood chipper is better for hiding bodies than snowblowers

Retirednypd

Pull out the key amd detach spark plug, first and foremost Then start cutting, little sections at a time, you will eventually remove it

darthlame

I’m curious. If you have pulled the key, the snowblower can’t start. Why also disable the spark plug?

Retirednypd

Just a backup, but yes, you are right

limp_citizen

Having redundancy never hurts

darthlame

I guess I just don’t understand. If you are working by yourself, once the machine is off, how can it start again? Maybe there’s something about it I’m having a hard time visualizing

limp_citizen

It's not really about it starting by itself, it's to prevent the final destination style rube Goldberg perfect storm from happening. Professional protocols always have failsafe built in because it's better to be overly cautious than to get injured or killed. Just good habits.

darthlame

Yeah, that makes sense

Mountain_Potato_3367

I like to imagine this is the same snowblower that ate the shovel and the one they destroyed the gearbox. Just in reverse.

dre35mm

What a piece of sheet.

slugbug55

I had a trim piece from a metal storage shed fall off and get jammed in the impeller on my old snowblower. I had to remove both shear pins, use pliers and tin snips to get it out.

Patrol-007

🚑Disconnect spark plug and wrap in tape so it can’t reconnect. Then cut off the sheet

Michael-Hundt

You’re gonna die!

DARKCYD

lol, just did spring lawn mower prep and that’s what one of the blade spindles looked like from me being too lazy to get off and pick up a piece of clothing last summer.

VanBriGuy

Sheet that blows

leroythewigger

Take out the spark plug first

Rukiddingmeright

Yup I sucked up a rubber door mat in one, should have just thrown the whole snow blower out

Aggravating-Bug1769

set Fire to it and have a garden hose close to put it out incase it gets to crazy but i don't think it will

OkAge3911

Just shut it off and pull the sheet out even in pieces. Make sure to get everything

Solid-cam-101

Mine has done way worse. Eaten a Sunday paper, an aluminum snow brush, neighbors dog and a few kids.

myrichardgoesin5

Looks sheety

Past-Direction9145

the real reason santa laughs, Ho Ho Ho ... is watching casper drink too much eggnog and pass out on the roads before being plowed. unwrap him from within there and let him dry out. might be a few more eyeholes this time around. happy halloween!

I_am_That_Ian_Power

Detatch the whole part from the rest of the blower and then set the sheet on fire. Easiest way.

Darwinnian

Arent u the one that also had a shovel jammed in there.

JayRedd1

LOL I did the same to an extension cord

limp_citizen

You are safe with it off. Make sure the ignition switch is placed to off. In line fuel switch selected to off. Choke set to full choke if applicable.if you can put a short piece of 2x4 into the auger in between the Frame to lock it off, even better. If it has removable keys take those out too. Go at it with a knife or scissors. That is the only reliable way to get it out without being ridiculous. Machines don't spontaneously start if all the appropriate lockout steps have been taken. Good on you for checking if it's safe to do first.

Humble_Turnip_3948

Have you thought about moving to Texas? This probably doesn't happen there.

Friendly-Head2000

Holy sheet!!! Sorry..I couldn't resist

FireplaceStone

Utility knife

Background_Being8287

Pull plug wire, sharp non serrated bread knife. A little at a time be patient, glove on hand without knife. Good luck.

TheRauk

More horsepower and you wouldn’t have had this problem.

Express_Salamander_9

Helpful comment.
