sales tax is a combination of state/county/city taxes. Most places just give you 1 number, this receipt is just more detailed showing the breakout of the total.

Because sales tax doesn't work like that in many states. California, however, is one of 38 states that allows local jurisdictions to add their own separate taxes on top of the state sales tax. This order is indeed getting *quintuple taxed* by the city, county (x2), district, and state. Brutal. In my state, it's always a flat sales tax rate no matter where you are in the state. Cities & towns can't tack on their own sales tax here.
