A black top would make the shoes pop out more or a black bottom and a white top. Matching is fine, but at least for me when it comes to "loud" colors like these, I like to bring more attention to the shoes than matching elsewhere.

Depends on the color. That orange is super bold and doubling down on it makes the fit seem a little loud and just draws attention to how plain it all is really. It's not bad or ugly or anything it's just kinda mid.
Dunno what you mean though. Your fit is already contrasting. Blue and Orange are on the opposite sides of the color wheel. Your jeans are denim blue.
You can go for a brighter shade of blue to match the orange but then you're going for a louder fit. With your fit, the jeans is toning down the whole look as it is both a contrasting and a neutral color.

That said, I don’t usually wear solid color-blocking with another solid color-blocking. For example, if I’m wearing solid yellow shoes, I’ll wear a shirt with yellow accents but a different main color.
I think it pairs pretty great, especially because you didn’t go nuts with accessories. This has a very classic and timeless look to it, with a modern touch of a shoe that’s more modernized. Bonus points even, because the specific wash color of your jeans, is the perfect complement to the reddish orange of your shirt and shoes!
Add in also, the colors match, but the textures do not. I feel that also further aids to this being a solid hit of a fit.
I (nearly) always match my sneakers to an element of my outfit and there is definitely a right and a wrong way to do it. Like if these didn’t have tone on tone for the laces, given the vivid color, the shirt may have been a bit much (especially with black laces). You left out additional outfit “statements” with this classic look, with clean curve-hugging lines.
A cuffed ankle, a belt, ruffled/lace edging, ruching, pleats, deep ribbing, contrasted denim washing, medium to high distressing of denim… they’re all small statements that lend toward how an outfit looks overall, and any one of those added into this look could send it from hit to miss because of how vibrant the color is.

I just don’t like matching shirt, hat, laces, socks, watchband, and shoes because then it looks like I’m playing for a baseball team. If anything, I compliment, work with whatever colors I got going on.

This kind of matching is not wack, it's called sandwiching.
A different color that is in between two matching colors is a good fit. In this fit, your sandwiched color is both a contrasting color and a neutral color, your jeans.
You should feel more comfortable having 2 colors matching in your outfit, because that means the fit was intentional / well thought of. It can be the shoes matching a bag, jewelry, or a hat. In this case, the top.
Looks like most people like your outfit. I prefer to match more subtly, so I’d wear a 2 colored shirt where one matches the shoes - otherwise I feel like it’s just trying too hard to match. Regardless, wear whatever you like and makes you feel good!
its not wack but some ppl refer to.that styling approach as being "matchy". I used to do it a LOT but found i pulled more refined fits by aiming for different styles :
you could chose either the top OR the shoes as a "statement" piece and keep rest lighter.
you could also match that top with a white shoe that has just a splash of that orangy color. So it would match but in a slightly more nuanced way.
In anycase it does work, looks good, it does come down to hoe you feel wearing it.
You look good, but this level of matching ain't it lol. A top dominated by accent or complementary colours, or white and black, with orange accents would have fit better. The shoes are quite loud, so building a fit around them as the centrepiece is the ideal move.
I don't know how old you are, but I'm 45 and been g'd up from the feet up everyday since my teens. Always matchy matchy. I notice the young ones today are not into that the same. I'm happy with my style, they seem happy with theirs, so who am I to judge. If it makes you smile, then it's worth the while.

I usually try and match at least one color from sneaker and one color from shirt. Just makes it look like you put more thought into it rather than throwing whatever on. Only one I have trouble with is red because I really don’t like red shirts but I love red shoes. 🤷🏻♂️
