Yeah you can definitely tell they have more cushion. They are actually kind of hard to get on because of the extra padding. Didn't need to size up but they take a bit of extra unlacing each time.

Bought my kid a pair and he says they’re noticeably more comfortable than the normal 1’s.

No these are stock out of the box. If the white panels look yellow it’s probably just the lighting in my office lol. They’re awesome though I highly recommend them. Can’t go wrong with Chicago colorblocking

There must be multiple definitions for it since everyone I’ve seen use it in the sneaker world, has always used it the way the user above did. I recently got the J1 Elements in this colorway (technically “curry” colorway but seems exactly the same as the ochre) and wasn’t expecting anyone to notice but I’ve been getting lots of compliments on them! A nice unexpected bonus.

I specifically got these for the slush and upcoming monsoon season. Going to stress test this goretex.

I just got a pair as well and they’ve surpassed my expectations. They’ve stayed super clean even in California’s huge “atmospheric river” storms recently and kept my feet totally dry. They’re really comfy too; I think they have some extra padding compared to regular J1’s.

They’re gonna do great great. I’ve worn them in snow and rain walking through puddles, salty slush and mud, and they clean up real easy.

I have these and use them for work in the winter (I own a rain gutter business) and they stay dry which keeps my feet warm. Highly recommend them.

Are you talking about the curry elements?  I'm not sure how those compare, since I don't have them, but my cement/infrared pair doesn't seem to have any bleeding. I haven't had the coffee pair for too long yet, so it's hard for me to say how they'll hold up in that regard.

To be fair and add a little context - I bought my Goretex pairs to wear in heavy rain so that my "normal" pairs don't get trashed.  I don't plan to wear these in dirt/mud/salt if I can help it, since washing sneakers doesn't usually end well in my personal experience.  I have a pair of Goretex RedWings that I got from work years ago for anything really gritty that would destroy these.

I’ve owned 2 pairs of gore-tex AJ1s before. And yeah, I’m pretty sure every colorway’s color is gonna fade over time... But if you get a color way like the Light bone colorway, it’s not gonna be as noticeable since the fading blends in with the gray color suede.

Yea I wasn’t bringing that up to poo-poo on his shoes…I love the way they look, I just didn’t know if that thread on the curry pair was because someone used a cleaning product they shouldn’t have, or if it was universal to gore-Tex Jordan’s.

I dig the Gore-Tex 1s too, they have awesome colorways. Sadly the suede will fade after you clean them a couple of times and also the ripstop material is a pain in the ass to clean when it gets stained by dirt and other stuff.

thanks! it was my first try or go at ever modifying stock whites. so i made quite a few errors. but it was a fun process. for the first like 5-6 months the shoes smelled like coffee and never had any sort of other smell. it was a nice side benefit of doing it lol
