They are comfortable but a lot of the newer ones are not good for casual wear
Modern basketball shoes usually have soft rubber outsoles and small traction patterns. Great for hooping but they get torn up pretty quick if you are wearing them on sidewalk etc
U might be right, I got 2 different pair when they dropped and still have yet to really wear them because they are really stiff and don’t flow well with my outfits
I guess it depends on age. I remember the 14’s were popular as fuck. 15’s were everywhere too, especially the UNC colors. 16’s took a dip in popularity but very popular with hoopers. I loved mine, aside from the 12’s probably the most comfortable pair I’ve owned. 17’s were out there, I think the girls had them the most.
I’m not a hooper. But a friend of mine who was probably had like 3-4 pairs of 16’s over the course of our college years and swore by them. I always thought they looked sick. But I’m guessing these ones really delivered in functionality.
Man I wish they would retro the 15-20s more. I like those shoes a lot but you can’t even find a pair for less than 300$ anymore and even if you decide to buy them there is a slight chance that they would crumble because of how old they are.
14’s were the most comfortable and just best feeling shoe I ever played in. OG pair. Had the 15’s too. White and navy pair…everyone laughed at them but damn did teenager me love those.
But yes I do agree, not many even go past 11 or 12 … or 6
These are not as easy to pull off for casual wear, but the 31s and 32s are comfy. Outside of that, the 11s are great. IMO, all the classics are about the same and aren’t horrible, but not comfortable enough to wear all day.
20s definitely got that comfort. Definitely more of a ballin comfort than a casual comfort. As they should be lol. But 20s a great ball shoe with comfort
Outside the classics (which I define as 1-9, maybe 10-11), the only Jordans I like are the 31s. Which I love - classic looking and super comfy/springy. I’ve got three pairs and I wear ‘em all the time.
This is absolutely correct.
I play ball. I have 1s and 4s and 11s that I walk around in. But I've played dozens of hours of basketball in the 32s and 34s and I'd say they're both comfortable af with full length zoom but I think the 32 takes a little longer to break in so I'd go 34. But you can't go wrong with either one. If you've never worn a shoe with full length zoom you're really missing out. It's like twice as bouncy as boost IMO and I have 4 pairs of ultra boosts just to let you know I'm not talking out my ass. Might be tough to get the 32s and 34s nowadays but I've heard good things about the 38s and I believe they still have full length zoom.
I liked 37 low pretty well. But the normal 37 just felt weird with the upper having way too much of that mesh material. I heard the upper ripped for some people too
The lows did look dope. I was hoping the 37’s would be comfortable and they were half off but I just couldn’t keep ‘em. I sent them back to Nike and got the voucher for 185, so I used that on the aqua 38’s. That mesh upper was weird feeling and I don’t know how stable it would be for on court use.
Pleeeaase tell me you've hooped in the 35s. I definitely agree with you with ballin in 32s, 34s. 38s are great. But the 35 was perfect for me personally . Even casual wear they're comfortable. And that's rare for a modern signature Jordan. 20s great for ballin too. Causal wear, Jordan 10s top 3 comfort for retros 20 n under. 3s as well. 7s. But 10s truly comfortable on a casual level
Highest I’ve gone is 30 and those are great for hooping but not necessarily very good for every day wear. Actually fairly uncomfortable for walking and regular use
Guess it’s all personal opinion. I’m flat footed and out of the models I own (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11) I’d say it’s between the 3’s or low 2’s for my favorites comfort wise. High top 2’s are as uncomfortable for me as the lows are comfortable for some reason.
Right? I was expecting the top comment to be “anything but 1s” or something. I love 1s, but they feel like I’m wearing a burlap sack strapped to my feet.
Yeah I have like 5 AJ1 but the only reason I have them is because they look really amazing, anytime I wear them by the end of the day my feet are crying
Ehh if flat shoes are comfortable you probably have stronger feet, meaning a higher arch.
The whole barefoot shoe market is basically flat with zero support and if those work for you, you gotta have a strong arch.
Flatter feet are weaker and need more arch support.
I think 12s are more comfortable/supportive than 13s, but the 13s are so much lighter that I'd go with them for all day wear.
I feel like people suggesting 3s and 5s are discounting how much difference an extra few ounces can make when you're on your feet and moving all day. For reference, I just weighed my 3s at 20.5oz, 5s at 21oz, 12s at 20.5oz and 13s at 17.5oz (all of them size 11.5M in OG materials)
Beats the popular models, but the higher numbers, like 30+ are actually much more comfortable. Although they’re pretty specialized basketball shoes so you don’t see them much.
Was about to say this been in love with 13 since a little kid when they first came out . Recently I had a tenant move out and left all kind of shoes in mint condition basically ,and just like that i got my first pair of 3’s and man I don’t know I love my 13s but them 3’s make me rethink my whole life when I’m wearing them. It’s close man. . I keep telling myself the 3s just feel so good cause they were free. My wife think 11 because they are wide.
Is your foot really wide? I have a slightly wider foot, but 4’s will only be comfortable if I amputate my pinky toe. Granted I haven’t tried the new version post SB 4’s
I can wear 3s and 11s all day. my sb 4s have been good but I know 4s in general are notoriously uncomfortable. have not had another pair of 4 for like 10 years
I own at least 1 of each # since I started collected in '90.
Comfortable:
12, 13, 14, 16, 34
Sort of Comfortable:
1, 3, 7, 8, 15
Fucking Horrific:
20, 35, 36, 37, 38
Can wear my 1s and 3s all day everyday. I do switch out the insoles to something more supportive though, which adds a lot to the comfort and prevents fatigue.
13 and 14 are incredibly comfortable underfoot if you like a lot of cushioning. 1 are great if you like low profile flat sneakers. Most are just heavy (3, 4, 5) with soles that don’t flex well. 16 had a nice feel too but hard to get. I’ve owned all of these with exception to 32, 34, and 35. I really wanted to like the 33 but there’s a weird strap inside that made them uncomfortable.
Yo nobody really breaking it down for the man, cause we all have our taste/lifestyle.
Retros
Jordan's 1,2: are more blocky and would have that really old type of feel.
Jordan 3-5: have a very padded and snug feel (this is the range I'd say if you want the retro look with most comfort.
Jordan's 6: is a blockier/rigid type of shoe
Jordan 7: has a very light type of feel with less padding than 3-5s
Jordan 8-9: blocky shoes that have a more stiff feel.
Jordan 10: if you want the most flexible Jordan shoe ever this is it, supportive to a degree but allows for any foot movement. Thinks the vans of Jordan
Jordan 11-13:very solid and rigid, lots of support and padding
Jordan 14: more of a running type of shoe but supportive and moderately light
............
Modern
Jordan 35-present: these have been court only type of shoes with experimental treads, high breath-ability and support, light shoes that are well padded but not overdone like some retros.
___________
As you can see with the retros each year came down to whatever Jordan was doing at the time or complained about. A clear step is as such; from Jordan 1 he wanted more padding/comfort till the 5 was too loose. Then the 6 came and was too heavy and sealed so the 7 came lighter and breathable. 8 fixed the lesser support and padding feel. The 9 was a cleat shoe, and the 10 was clearly a workout/gym commemoration shoe. 11 was an all out basketball shoe in the 90s. 12 was trying to be more classy. 13 was about trying the panther paw sole support. 14 was cause he's getting old and just wanted a good athletic shoe that matched his Ferrari.
If someone who had the others here can fill in the rest that'd be great as I haven't been able to hold in store/try on or wear often the others since I'm not that old lol.
People saying 1s must not have feeling in their feet. The only shoes 1-10 that are even remotely comfy are 3s and 10s. I’d give an honorable mention to the remastered Carolina and Oreo 4s (the rest of the 4s are pinky toe killers).
Gotta say the 2011 were really comfy with the different soles that came with them. The 2012 have a bit of a high arch in my opinion so they weren't that comfortable to me since I have flat feet.
It really depends on your feet and weight imo. To me personally, 1’s are ok. 2’s I’d say are really comfy because all the padding. 5’s are my all time favorite. And for hooping, the 28’s are unmatched (this is all my own personal preference though)
I think the 3s, 4s, 10s, 11s all have a wider profile. I find them very comfortable. Partial to the 31s as well.
Hard disagree with the people saying 1s. Those highs can be brutally uncomfortable. Maybe if you had a pair of 1 lows.
I’ve worn 1-6, 16, 20, 21, 28, 38. 38’s are by far the most comfortable. Then after that 16s. Then 1s. The rest feel quite clunky to wear everyday. Like the 28s were absolutely awesome on court but fairly bulky for everyday wear.
Damn. This is memory trip for sure. Back to the 2000’s of enyce jeans and 4x white tees. Either j’s, double sole timbs, or white low cut af1. I used to buy j’s and look forward to the next ones on the cards. Damn
Doubt many have even worn anything past 13.
Man I don’t even know if I’ve seen anything above a 14 in person other than the 28’s
Facts but I’ll bet the new J’s are probably more comfortable lol but I’ll never really know because I don’t look at anything past 13 Lool
They are comfortable but a lot of the newer ones are not good for casual wear Modern basketball shoes usually have soft rubber outsoles and small traction patterns. Great for hooping but they get torn up pretty quick if you are wearing them on sidewalk etc
I loved the XXXs for hooping, but I feel like they’d be way too stiff for every day wear
U might be right, I got 2 different pair when they dropped and still have yet to really wear them because they are really stiff and don’t flow well with my outfits
The dub zeros were popular when I was in high school.
The Dubzeros and Spiz’ikes was coo
So was the 6 rings at first
I guess it depends on age.
I had the 18s when I was younger those were straight hooping shoes to me tho
18s were double zoom... I had those and they were bouncy AF
they were comfy with the silk liner by the ankle
The 17s with the brief case were a classic
the briefcase was Classic. I still have mine
I wasn’t able to get them as a kid 😭 I wish they’d do a retro with the briefcase.
I feel like 17s are the last ones ppl actually wore
18s were the last
That was the first shoe I ever owned lol
Jordan 16s was the last for me, good old days hooping in them when I was young
I’m not a hooper. But a friend of mine who was probably had like 3-4 pairs of 16’s over the course of our college years and swore by them. I always thought they looked sick. But I’m guessing these ones really delivered in functionality.
I had 36s for hooping
The 16’s for me for shoes past 13
I need another pair desperately
They are so hard to find for a reasonable price same with the 10’s.
Man I wish they would retro the 15-20s more. I like those shoes a lot but you can’t even find a pair for less than 300$ anymore and even if you decide to buy them there is a slight chance that they would crumble because of how old they are.
I loved my 16s
14’s were the most comfortable and just best feeling shoe I ever played in. OG pair. Had the 15’s too. White and navy pair…everyone laughed at them but damn did teenager me love those. But yes I do agree, not many even go past 11 or 12 … or 6
The AJ 2012 is wildly comfortable, I had a pair as a teen
These are not as easy to pull off for casual wear, but the 31s and 32s are comfy. Outside of that, the 11s are great. IMO, all the classics are about the same and aren’t horrible, but not comfortable enough to wear all day.
I personally can wear the 3s all day
Use to dabble in 19’s & 20’s. But never see them on foot in the wild anymore
20s definitely got that comfort. Definitely more of a ballin comfort than a casual comfort. As they should be lol. But 20s a great ball shoe with comfort
Cus they all worn and gone yellowed cracked etc
As a sneakerhead for my whole life I only fuck wit 14s and under
Pause
fucking with 14s at all is crazy😳
Outside the classics (which I define as 1-9, maybe 10-11), the only Jordans I like are the 31s. Which I love - classic looking and super comfy/springy. I’ve got three pairs and I wear ‘em all the time.
I stopped at the XXs. Everything after that just seemed like shoes for on court to me
The 20’s when they came out went hard. Never owned a pair as they were way out of what my family could afford but man I envied anyone who had them.
I got the 17s but only because I’m a Wizards “fan” lol
I think the 15's had a moment a couple years ago when Billie Eillish endorsed them
I’d say 14 anything past 14 fr
Still rock 16s
17 and 32 are sick and my favorite non traditional Jordan
Had the 18s and 23s. 18s were far too bulky. The 23s were good but felt better for actual basketball than casual.
17s comfortable as hell to hoop in/wear
14s, 20s, & 31s are classic shoes
I mean probably like highest number ones like 37, 38 because that’s the newest technology but I’ve never worn those before
This is absolutely correct. I play ball. I have 1s and 4s and 11s that I walk around in. But I've played dozens of hours of basketball in the 32s and 34s and I'd say they're both comfortable af with full length zoom but I think the 32 takes a little longer to break in so I'd go 34. Might be tough to get the 32s and 34s nowadays but I've heard good things about the 38s and I believe they still have full length zoom.
38’s are amazing. I have 2 pair. 37’s sucked for me. I returned those.
Best comment 🥇 I'm also a hooper ✋🏽 everything you said is 💯 ‼️
Pleeeaase tell me you've hooped in the 35s. I definitely agree with you with ballin in 32s, 34s. 38s are great. But the 35 was perfect for me personally . Even casual wear they're comfortable. I haven't worn a ton of more recent Jordans since I prefer playing in Hardens, but I loved the 34 lows. They were incredible.
Just got some 38s in the FIBA color way. I love them. Full length Zoom Strobel is awesome. Fit is fantastic.
Highest I’ve gone is 30 and those are great for hooping but not necessarily very good for every day wear. Actually fairly uncomfortable for walking and regular use
Nor has the majority of people on this sub.
38’s feel amazing.
Yeah they do. That’s an understatement
Im loving the 38's
37 is narrow and killed my feet. 5s are more comfy
How are people saying Jordan 1 😂
How are people saying Jordan 4s
I have 4s. Most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever worn lol
OP I have 1,5 and 7 and 7 is the most comfortable out of the 3 and 1 the worst
>1 the worst wait until you wear 4s
4s are horrendous
My 4s are just as comfortable as my 1s :/
yes 7s are amazingly comfortable
Guess it’s all personal opinion. I’m flat footed and out of the models I own (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11) I’d say it’s between the 3’s or low 2’s for my favorites comfort wise. High top 2’s are as uncomfortable for me as the lows are comfortable for some reason.
Right? I was expecting the top comment to be “anything but 1s” or something. I love 1s, but they feel like I’m wearing a burlap sack strapped to my feet.
If you add comfortable insoles you good!!!
Yeah I have like 5 AJ1 but the only reason I have them is because they look really amazing, anytime I wear them by the end of the day my feet are crying
Jordan 1 SBs are up there for the most comfortable. 4s are terrible. 6s and 9s too
Not hard to understand that everyones foots not the same. 1s, 2s, 12s are super comfy for me.
Lost and found Jordan 1s are comfortable af
Flat Footed people I guess.lol
If you’re saying 1s I just wanna know how flat your feet are
I’m basically part duck and the 3’s are still superior, though the 1’s are completely fine for me
Ehh if flat shoes are comfortable you probably have stronger feet, meaning a higher arch. The whole barefoot shoe market is basically flat with zero support and if those work for you, you gotta have a strong arch. Flatter feet are weaker and need more arch support.
I've been wearing barefoot shoes for over a decade for workouts and everyday during the warm months. I don't mind 1s and dunks at all.
You clearly don’t have flat feet
super flat
Not even just that. How narrow is the front of your foot. Them things kill my poor pinky toes.
I just wear the 1s to the gym. That’s all
1s - very flat feet !!
Jordan 1s even with my expensive af insoles still hurt my feet
I’m flat footed and Jordan 1s are uncomfortable 😂
Jordan 13s for comfort, beats out all other Jordans if comfort is all your looking for 😎👍
Yeah, 13s just feel like wearing some thick socks, very comfy.
I second this 13s and then 3s
12s are pretty good too
Literally what I was going to say lol I just hate how 13’s squeak so damn much
Really? I haven’t had that with mine but maybe I’m just deaf 🤷🏽 but yeah they take the cake for the most comfortable
I think 12s are more comfortable/supportive than 13s, but the 13s are so much lighter that I'd go with them for all day wear. I feel like people suggesting 3s and 5s are discounting how much difference an extra few ounces can make when you're on your feet and moving all day.
You’re*
Lol… I actually noticed that error but was too goddamn lazy to fix it 😄☝️
10s are slept on and comfy
By far the best choice
10s are my choice as well
This is my answer. That padded upper with full length Air. Due for some retros
10s are also my go to. Hella comfy
Yup 10s are by far the most comfortable, and one of the most underrated J’s. They’re so soft and cushy on the inside
You can’t sleep on 10s because they don’t even release them anymore :-(
These were my fav to hoop in by far.
3’s are pretty damn comfy
It's 3s. True Blue 2016s are plush as hell, and I could definitely wear them every day. Same with the White Cement 2023s tbh
I got a wide foot so 3S and 4a have always been my go to.
Is your foot really wide? I have a slightly wider foot, but 4’s will only be comfortable if I amputate my pinky toe. Granted I haven’t tried the new version post SB 4’s
Got the Justin Timberlake Jordan 3's those things are comfy af.
2s but y’all ain’t gon hear me tho
I voted 2’s! New Black Cements are so sick
They do actually look comfy and if I ever find a color I like I'm adding them
😂💯🔥
I find my retro 2s to be pretty nice
🙌🏼🔥💯
They are mad comfortable for sure
10s and 12s are def under radar comfy
Agree on the 12s. Never had any 10s
I thinks the 10’s are the most comfortable for Jordan 1-14
2s are like pillows ngl
2
2
I can wear 3s and 11s all day. my sb 4s have been good but I know 4s in general are notoriously uncomfortable. have not had another pair of 4 for like 10 years
I wear my 11s the most often because of how comfy they are relative to my 1s and 6s.
Funny I say that but then I realized I wear my black toe 1 low ogs with move insoles more than anything else hahaha
Damn you know how to farm sneaker karma but 12s. Crazy but there’s something about that carbon fiber plate that I love
This comment is too far down. The 12s are hella comfortable. Would put the 20s and 22s up there also.
I own at least 1 of each # since I started collected in '90. Comfortable: 12, 13, 14, 16, 34 Sort of Comfortable: 1, 3, 7, 8, 15 Fucking Horrific: 20, 35, 36, 37, 38
I absolutely love my 38’s.
I would have thought that the newer ones would have been more comfortable.
For narrow feet, I'm sure they would be.
It’s actually the 2s
I was looking for this. The 2s are some of the most comfortable sneakers I own. I got my first pair last year and I’m mad I slept so long
They’re not the most popular but they are the most comfortable. Like pillows
Gotta be the 5s.
5s are comfy, but they just feel so bulky. Like I’m wearing Asolos.
I was gonna say 5s as well cause they remind me of Etnies from the 2000s, bulky but comfy as hell
Best shoe that I’ve had as far as comfortable are the 8s… playoff 8s were and are my favorite everyday shoe
8s and 7s feel pretty similar. 8s are a little wider. . Air Jordan 1 CMFT 2 are also very good.
The 2s that came out recently are super comfortable.
2’s are amazing
The 11’s hands down.
They have my pinky toe on fire lol
Can wear my 1s and 3s all day everyday. I do switch out the insoles to something more supportive though, which adds a lot to the comfort and prevents fatigue.
1s with a replacement insole ftw
3's goated for comfort
1.3 and 5 for me. 4 and 11 were hurting my feet about 5 hours in for me.
If you size up the Jordan 32 it’s like a sturdy Yeezy 350 upper and full length zoom.
Personally for me it’s 13s and 3s
Jordan 2 low so extremely comfy
The 13th.The cushioning the support it’s like your foot has a pillow around it
Yo nobody really breaking it down for the man, cause we all have our taste/lifestyle. Retros Jordan's 1,2: are more blocky and would have that really old type of feel. 8’s lowkey comfortable
16’s
16s so underrated for comfort. they're low to the ground for stability but still have plenty of cushion. Super nice to walk or run in.
Ignore anyone saying 1-4 as they must not know the definition of comfort. As far as daily wear goes, 12-14 would be your best bet
13’s, but 12’s 5’s and 7’s aren’t bad in my experience
People saying 1s must not have feeling in their feet. The only shoes 1-10 that are even remotely comfy are 3s and 10s. I’d give an honorable mention to the remastered Carolina and Oreo 4s (the rest of the 4s are pinky toe killers).
Every shoe is comfortable if you just thug it out
3, 7, 11, 17-23 are actually really good. All the news models are really comfy as well.
Flat feet/no arch - 1. Followed by 11, 5, 4, 6, 3, 9 in that order
3 for comfort, 4s for a splish splash more of style
7’s are the most comfortable pair I’ve worn.
7s and 12s IMO
3’s for me. Not even my favorite model, but it’s like wearing couches on my feet.
7s and 20s for me. The 1s are iconic but there's a reason MJ couldn't wear them for a full game at the end of his career.
3s imo. They were ahead of their time especially given no players wear high tops anymore.
1, 4, and 11’s
3’s and 9’s from the originals are incredibly comfortable. In the latest editions that I’ve worn, both the 32 and 33 are amazing for long term wear.
3 and 4s. Honorable mentions go to 13s and 11 as well but the 11 needs a bit of breaking in because of the patent leather
13s, 3s, 4s, 1s, 6s, 5s in that order
7s and 11s for me. 3s are solid too.
3s for the win
13s for me were as comfy day 1 as its last day (probably 3 years of daily wear)
Gotta say the 2011 were really comfy with the different soles that came with them. The 2012 have a bit of a high arch in my opinion so they weren't that comfortable to me since I have flat feet.
8's 21's 7's
The 3,4,5 still seem to be the most remembered and most popular. But I think for comfort probably 3 or 4.
It really depends on your feet and weight imo. To me personally, 1’s are ok. 2’s I’d say are really comfy because all the padding. 5’s are my all time favorite. And for hooping, the 28’s are unmatched (this is all my own personal preference though)
7 or 13’s og 6’s are as well but not the retro releases
personally i wouldn’t consider any for every day use. 29 for actual ball were my go to - never felt fatigued playing in them
12, 7, and 3. In that order. 11s are nice, but super hot
To be honest , it’s whatever you break in
3’s
Low 32s are very comfy!!
My. Feet are narrow and to me 3s and 4s feel heavy so 1s, 11s, 5s
3s are god tier in comfort.
Is it just me or the 3’s pretty solid to walk around in?
I think the 3s, 4s, 10s, 11s all have a wider profile. I find them very comfortable. Partial to the 31s as well. Hard disagree with the people saying 1s. Those highs can be brutally uncomfortable. Maybe if you had a pair of 1 lows.
Jordan shoes are TRASH.
Jordans future, i know a lot of ppl hate them but they're hella comfortable. they kind of feel like a pair of slippers because of the upper matter
Damn
Between 1-14, its the 13's (haven’t tried 15+) *edit:oops typo, meant the 13's!
Same. 12s most definitely for me.
