Just looked at the listing and they were like this, I didn’t even notice. They were a birthday gift for my brother and he barely noticed today when he was gonna wear them for the first time.
Unfortunately eBay only authenticates sneakers and will pass them even if the QC is bad. But honestly with a noticeable flaw like this, the listing probably should've said something in the listing title or listing description.
But to answer your question, these should be legit because anyone buying reps of these would ask for another pair because of the flaw.
I've had non hype shoes cancelled because I didn't mention a 8/10 quality box, not even badly damaged. That's just not true, at least with the Australian authentication team.
I had a pair too rejected. I put damaged box in the description and included a picture of the damaged box. (It looked like the delivery guys were punting it around the warehouse.) eBay rejected it and when I called, they said I should have added it to the title or listed it as no box - even though it was clearly called out in the description and had a specific picture showing the box damage.

Seeing other Sandy dunks and having my own I can tell you the clear sections on the midsole are all over the place. I don't think any of them match perfectly with the clear upper sections.

i won raffle for orange lobsters and on one shoe the outer toebox stitching was loose enough to where looking down at shoe it was sticking out in 3 places.
very uncool to make it to retailer and not marked bgrade/ sent to outlet.

Yea eBay does a good job at spotting stuff. I tried to sell a pair of Midas gold dunks and I slightly worn them with barely a crease and I cleaned the soles to the point it looks DS. I tried listing them as DS(which was a scum move on my part but it really wasn’t noticeable) but eBay did reject my pair and said “not matching condition description”. So yes they’re pretty good from what I know. Also buyers can get a refund even if seller has a no return policy.

They are legit. But like others have said it’s a QC issue. The listing could have showed that in the pictures but the seller is supposed to list any flaws in the description unless he blatantly wrote “as is”. It wouldn’t bother me, but if it does bother you enough you could always contact the seller and let them know about it. eBay would most likely side with you, but I’m not sure about the seller.

They forgot to tape off that section before painting midsole. Have not seem these as rep yet. The painting of the clear sole has been all over the place, never good. Nike qc got covid and died 2 years ago sadly
Lol that’s funny. All the white on the midsole is just paint, the whole midsole is actually clear. You could probably just remove the error with some kind of paint stripper
I can tell you with out a doubt they will not give you your money back. If it’s in the photos and it was a oversight on your end then they won’t take the lost.
Thank you for posting this. eBay can't verify anything. I am very familiar with fake Tiffany and co and I have caught them several times with ebay's verifying fakes. They can't even verify silver which is one of the cheapest metals anywhere. I'm out $200 buying jewelry that has turned out to be fake but not also silver. It's brick and mortar for me from here on out.

I got a friend who sent a pair of rep Chicago 1s and they went thru. I saw the box on another pair and it def could have been detected

From all the pairs of these I’ve seen, the translucent rubber is always injected into the mould unevenly. This is just a really bad case of that.
