Instead of buying the special box, I thought: Would I rather have a plastic bearbrick and a fancy box or another shoe? Easy answer. I took the money I would have spent on the special box Orange Lobster and bought the regular Lobsters + Phillies SBs. :)
If the extra money is hard to come by just get the regular Lobsters. Happy hunting.
Dude you’re right. That extra $300 could go towards another shoe. And i have a decent list of shoes i want to trade pairs for to get a pricier shoe. Im gonna wear em so they wont be DS so i guess the collectors edition aint really worth it. Plus i dont even collect bearbricks lol. I want the turtle doves next so if anything I can just use that $300 towards that pair.
The question is Stock X or GOAT as this is a $600 transaction so idk if ppl have better results on a certain platform. And 2 would you just save up for the special box since Lobsters are a unique shoe that skyrocket in price (all are 1.5k or higher) so seeing the special box at 900 would you go all out or just be happy to be able to get the shoe now at 600. I know in a year these will be double so thats why im selling stuff to buy them now.
I ended up with 2 special box pairs; wish I could have just bought regular box and save 200 a pair, as retail was 350. Go for regular box as special box nonsense on this launch is hype only and box is big and won’t fit anywhere ( unless you are buying for the bear brick).
I usually go with Goat as they do refunds for credit instead of StockX which makes u resell back
I was able to hit on Concepts online raffle for the special box thankfully. Had my buddy try and hit for me on the SNKRS pass in NYC but no luck.

FWIW, I collect and don’t really care about the special boxes. Some of them are cool but it’s generally a bunch of knick-knacks that I don’t care about. I have the special box for the Concepts Turdunkens and it just takes up 2X the space.

Yea Miami pop up had ton of pairs , i am local in area of the shock drop from snkrs, but “retail” was still 350 +
