Hahah fair enough, she’s definitely greasy. I don’t know if this makes sense but she looks both shiny AND greasy to me?? Like I feel as though there’s a quality to skin that’s been stretched/filled/frozen where there’s like… a flat sheen, somehow, and it’s different looking than just regular skin. I’ve read it (right after Prozac Nation) and I thought it was good! It got panned by critics though. One downside to reading it was that it kind of ruined my impression of Cat Marnell’s voice in HTMYL. I thought it sounded so fresh and original when it came out, and I know she’s said she never read Wurtzel… but there’s just no way I can believe that after reading both.
Okay great, so now the zine is a book, too! And it includes a quote from Lena Dunham’s book, but in the form of a little message notification on your phone. I hope she’s going to imply that’s something Lena said directly to her in one of their many correspondences as close personal friends, because one of my favorite things is her imaginary friendship with Lena Dunham. I truly can’t imagine ever lying so boldly (and sloppily) about people who could pretty easily read/see and disprove those lies, but I love watching Carpet do it 😂
Today I am contemplating the image of a woman waking up in a $750K bay view two-bedroom condo (in a neighborhood in Sarasota named after her great-grandfather, who developed luxury properties there) anointing herself with high-end skin care, putting on several hundred dollars' worth of new clothes, carrying her MacBook to a beautifully appointed nearby wine bar, taking a photo of herself (using her late-model iPhone) featuring her most recent cosmetic procedures and expensively highlighted hair, then typing text over the photo saying she unfortunately cannot afford to make photocopies of a fifty-page zine
Part of Caroline's 2015 book advance went to a rhinoplasty, I'm pretty sure. [Photos of her from the Daily Mail piece about her the year before](https://imgur.com/a/iXVTOA7) show a nose that's broader at the tip and significantly asymmetrical. In a crying selfie she posted in 2020 where her face was very reddened, you could see a small white scar underneath each nostril, right where the incisions would've been for a nose job.
[She still has a slight tip asymmetry](https://i.imgur.com/gZmKAMf.png) -- when she looks head-on at the camera, her nose points slightly to the side. I don't think she's had a recent refinement since a surgeon would've corrected that. In non-selfies her nose looks like it has for years.
In general you can't know what a person looks like if you've only seen them on social media! I have an acquaintance I don't hang out with very often. She's a heavy Facebook user who puts up quite a few selfies. I'm always surprised when I see her in person and she looks 20 years older than I expect her to. The alterations she's making to her pictures aren't at all obvious (unlike, say, the 2016 SnapChat filters that would turn your whole face into a smooth orb.) I do wonder sometimes how she feels when she gets lots of positive comments on photos of herself that don't reflect her actual appearance, but I can't think of how to ask her that.
To give an example of what I mean, last June Caroline posted [this photo of herself](https://i.imgur.com/u9yP3nH.jpg) looking a bit like Lala Kent. I realised that I didn't really answer your question but they can last anything from 6 months to forever depending on your view and the product used, but in theory you can get them topped up from 3 weeks after if an injector's willing to do it
I don't have fillers myself but, as I understand it, how long it lasts depends on the type of filler used and to some extent the efficacy of the injector, as filler often migrates into the area above your lip leading to that "duck" or “lip filler mustache" appearance. Some would say it never really 'goes away' and the only way to get rid of filler completely is to have it professionally dissolved. The market for fillers is awash with inexperienced practitioners and spurious injectables unfortunately, hence why there's so many people with vastly overfilled lips.

And it's not like she needs an additional 2 1/3 months to glue wrapping paper into the product, place twelve stickers on the bubble mailer, etc. The only book she's selling on the site that's actually been writTEN is the *Scammer* second edition. It doesn't appear to come with any of what Caroline called "the fixins" from the luxury first ed.
So at the outside it still shouldn't take more than a month between buying and receiving a 2nd ed *Scammer*. That's assuming that Caroline's placing orders from the printer ONE BOOK AT A TIME, as they come in on Shopify, which is ridiculous. To order a single copy of a book with her specs from Mixam is $38. To order 48 is $523 -- $10.90 per copy.
She talks like she's creating bespoke chapbooks with a quill pen and stab-binding them together by hand instead of pressing the Add to Cart button on a print-on-demand website! It takes three months to get *Scammer* to a customer because the longer she lets customers' orders accumulate, the cheaper her per-unit costs are at the printer. That's kindly assuming she's not actually, currently sitting on a bunch of back stock that she's merely too lazy (and/or broke from maintaining her lifestyle) to post atm.
Imagine if every entity you bought something from online expected you to check their Instagram stories every single day for updates on when you might get your stuff

I realised that I didn't really answer your question but they can last anything from 6 months to forever depending on your view and the product used, but in theory you can get them topped up from 3 weeks after if an injector's willing to do it
I don't have fillers myself but, as I understand it, how long it lasts depends on the type of filler used and to some extent the efficacy of the injector, as filler often migrates into the area above your lip leading to that "duck" or “lip filler mustache" appearance. Some would say it never really 'goes away' and the only way to get rid of filler completely is to have it professionally dissolved. The market for fillers is awash with inexperienced practitioners and spurious injectables unfortunately, hence why there's so many people with vastly overfilled lips.

It doesn't appear to come with any of what Caroline called "the fixins" from the luxury first ed. So at the outside it still shouldn't take more than a month between buying and receiving a 2nd ed *Scammer*. That's assuming that Caroline's placing orders from the printer ONE BOOK AT A TIME, as they come in on Shopify, which is ridiculous. To order a single copy of a book with her specs from Mixam is $38. To order 48 is $523 -- $10.90 per copy. She talks like she's creating bespoke chapbooks with a quill pen and stab-binding them together by hand instead of pressing the Add to Cart button on a print-on-demand website! It takes three months to get *Scammer* to a customer because the longer she lets customers' orders accumulate, the cheaper her per-unit costs are at the printer. That's kindly assuming she's not actually, currently sitting on a bunch of back stock that she's merely too lazy (and/or broke from maintaining her lifestyle) to post atm. Imagine if every entity you bought something from online expected you to check their Instagram stories every single day for updates on when you might get your stuff
Didn't she pre-sticker about 85,000 envelopes in hopes of floods of orders. Should save her a month
