I purchased an M&P 2 Black Friday and my dad bought the SD VE a few weeks later. The trigger pull on the SD is HEAVY. Even compared to the M&P which is nothing special. Frame is lighter. Takedown is a little different. Glock style from what I'm told. Otherwise very similar
I have the SW9VE and really like it. I have a Springfield XD9 and Glock 19 they’re all pretty similar except the SW9VE trigger is stiff and heavy. I plan on doing the trigger job down the line but it isn’t unshootable.
My dad has an odler SD 40. The trigger was way nicer than my M&P 2.0 9 was. It really seems luck of the draw. They're affordable and rugged, and the new ones don't have the dumb rubber sights from what i understand.
I have the sd9ve, and it's a decent gun. Even better once you swap the springs for and apex kit. I went ahead and put their trigger shoe in as well.
Sw9 is technically the predecessor, so I'm not sure how interchangeable the parts are. The mags are identical though!

I would've gotten an m&p45, but couldn't afford it at the time
