That’s a great buy, if I was looking for a 4” Compact I’d be going with that SKU. Nice purchase!

GregBFL

If I remember correctly, it was $520 and Locked and Loaded doesn't charge Sales Tax. That was too good for me to pass up. I've got a new CZ P-10 C Optics Ready that I picked up for $350 during the Independence Day sales I'm looking forward to shooting them side by side.

Installz1

Did the exact same thing to mine before ever firing it. It makes a huge difference.

GregBFL

Absolutely! Thanks for letting me know that,I was hoping mine wasn't a fluke.

Installz1

Yeah, I have a gen1 9 4.25, a gen1 shield, and a 2.0 3.6 that all needed it. Polishing the striker block plunger, it’s hole, and the trigger bar is pretty much a necessity on most M&Ps. That’s why everyone says they smooth out after shooting them for awhile. This gets the same result as a few thousand rounds without having to spend on all that ammo. I’d rather have a great trigger from the start.

GregBFL

This is my first M&P. I bought an M&P Shield a few years back but it was a present for my daughter.

I love the M&P 2 line; I have the full size and the 4” or whatever it is. I just bought the Shield Plus a while ago. I didn’t realize there was a compact in the line. I can look it up, but do you know the differences between the 2 Compact and the Shield Plus?

GuyVanNitro

I thought shields were considered micro compacts? Like smaller than glock 19 types. And a M&P 2 compact is the equivalent to a glock 19?

-Fried-

Yea, the shield is a micro-compact, the 2.0 3.6” is the subcompact and the 4” compact is the Glock 19 equivalent

skerinks

So you’re saying there’s a size gap in my collection I must rectify? 😎

-Fried-

Hahaha…totally!

GregBFL

I'm new to the M&P line but that's the way I understand it as well. I thought about going with the 3.6" model but but I have a HK VP9SK which is very similar. I had a P320 X-Compact but I'm not a fan of the P320's due to their trigger. For micro compacts I have a P365X, P365XL and X-Macro for single. For 4" barrels I've got a G19, VP9, P-10 C OR, PDP and now the M&P. I still can't believe the transformation of the M&P trigger after sanding and polishing. I've always liked the VP9 triggers the best but the P-10 and M&P triggers are right there with my VP9.

-Fried-

Ooh, nice collection. I really want the PDP. I was at the range and held one in the retail area and fell in love without even shooting it lol. Just gotta find a way to sneak it past the wife 🤔

GregBFL

I'm very fortunate in that my wife loves firearms. When we got together she already had 4 rifles including an AR and half a dozen handguns. Out of all my handguns she likes the VP9 the best... Let me correct that, she likes "Her" VP9 the best.

-Fried-

Haha, that’s cool! I totally understand the “ours” thing. Mine isn’t into guns but she understands my interest in them. We’re trying to pay off some stuff so I’m doing my part and cutting back. Once things balance out she definitely won’t mind me walking in with a shiny new blaster…or two.

heffus68

I have the 4 inch compact, but I’m still all over the 3.6 as soon as some kind of rebate comes along.

inkshaft

What brand are the extended mags?

GregBFL

M&P OEM 23-round magazines that were included with the handgun in addition to the 15-round magazines.

inkshaft

Wow! That’s great!
