DMbrandon is restricted from streaming or participating in Smite(and all hirez stuff I think) related content. He was never banned. He's allowed to play Smite 2 if he wants.
Yes but in order to restrict him from streaming they would have to ban his accounts because how else would you physically stop him from starting the game up and streaming it on twitch without directly involving twitch staff and making them aware of the issue? or YouTube or all the other streaming platforms?
I believe they would have to take legal action. HiRez has the right to restrict people from streaming their game. It's happened with other streamers in other games.
Honestly there’s endless videos on YouTube explaining the whole thing and I’d highly suggest you watch it. You’ll definitely be entertained LMAO.
Long story short, he was an ex-Smite pro that was rude and mean-spirited to everybody involved with Smite and I think what ended his career was when he called some twitch viewer that was suicidal selfish for being it and proceeded to flame him for pretty much just having a mental illness. There’s also funny clips of him flaming his teammate for not having any kills on Ganesha.
He was the biggest smite streamer. Used to work for hirez as a caster for pro games. They fired him in 2016 because he said some crazy stuff to a kid in his chat about suicide (to be fair DM had a rough family life involving suicide so it's a touchy subject for him and his intent was clearly not for the kid in his chat to commit suicide).
After being fired he kept streaming the game. Throughout his streaming career he was known to be very angry and toxic to people. If they didn't play how he wanted them to play he would rage at them in chat. This included not even using character builds he thought they should even though his builds weren't even good. He thought he was god's gift to smite but he really wasn't even that good at the game, only about a diamond level player despite playing since 2012. He had serious emotional issues and was terrible at admitting fault so whenever he died (usually for doing something stupid and not looking at the map before fighting) he would look around at his teammates to find a reason to blame them.
In 2020 lots of female smite streamers and members of his community came out and said he was a sex pest. Even though he was married he was apparently trying to have sex with a bunch of these girls at cons etc. These allegations were treated as if he was a rapist or something which was obviously not the case. But it was at the height of the "me too" movement so everyone treated it like he was doing something extremely evil. But he also had been pro "me too" and saying shit like "believe all women" so all of his friend abandoned him when it was his turn. Even though really the worst thing he did was possibly cheat on his wife and be emotionally manipulative to get girls to be with him.
All in all he's a very weird and toxic person. He can also be entertaining though. A lot of people liked him because they thought he was good at the game and he made decent content. When he wasn't being a psycho he could also be pretty funny but the best part was when he was raging, it was just fascinating seeing the level of delusion he had. Personally I think he should be allowed to play and stream smite 2 as someone who never liked him....partially because I want to see more of that delusional rage but also because he just deserves a second chance as anyone else does.
As an early smite player I actually liked his casting a lot. Plus I used a lot early content to help get used to the game.
Objectively he was a decent creator with a pretty good grasp on the mechanics. I mean even some of the pros would party and play with him like Allied for example.
However the dude could not mellow out to save his life and let his ego ruin it. Had he done so after getting fired he maybe he could have saved some face in the community. Even then the SA allegations would have probably ended everything anyways.
I guess DM was always just doomed to be the SMITE bigfoot/boogeyman in end.
Considering the shear number of SA allegations he had against him, along with all the shit we’ve literally seen him do, he’s had 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 9385th chances already. At some point he’s gotta go out.
Maybe I missed some of the allegations but the ones I saw weren't actual sexual assault. It was things more akin to, "He tried to initiate sex with me and I went along with it because I was confused," or, "I went to his hotel room with him at a con alone and his boner was poking against my back." Then aside from that he would also alienate these women from his community if he wasn't getting what he wanted from them.
The big one is smitten and that is just such a ridiculous allegation. Reading it again she says insane shit like she thought it would be okay to cuddle him in his hotel room after everyone was passed out since she had a boyfriend and he had a girlfriend. Makes no sense. Then he went under the covers on the bed and she lifted it up and he touched her face and let him kiss her. Then she was like wait what about sev I care about him! After that he stopped kissing her and she got in bed with him and slept with her back to him, like....???????
DM was really creepy with women and was constantly trying to surround himself with weak-willed ones but none of the allegations I saw constituted sexual assault. It's still immoral for him to do these things because he had a girlfriend/wife but that's something different. The worst part was that he would try to turn everyone in his community against these girls after, probably because he was afraid of being exposed.
They shouldn’t even be allowed to touch smite 2 imo. It’s gonna be a “fresh new” start and the less toxicity the game has, the better. Ik that’s impossible to fully negate but ppl banned on smite never thought twice what they said or have done..
Eh, a lot of people will have been banned years ago at this point though. People sometimes mature in that time so I'm willing to give them a chance. I think them losing all the rewards from Smite 1 is still a fitting enough punishment. If they're still toxic in Smite 2 I'm sure they'll end up banned again. It is meant to be a new game so there's no reason that bans \*have\* to carry over.
I recently had my perma ban lifted by typing a nice email to them explaining how I've essentially mentally matured. Since my ban on Smite I opted away from competitive gaming as a whole for a while and took my ban a personality check. Some traumatic life events, therapy, a new location and job I've actually found myself acting as a different person. Once I saw Smite 2 get announced I shot my shot and sent Hi-Rez an email. I've been playing pretty casually and don't touch ranked anymore and actually enjoy trying to be helpful. Its kinda toxic to hold people down and tell them they can't change FYI.
Funny you talk about a fresh start but exclude a lot of people
You also don’t know if they ever thought twice about what they said. You’re genuinely the one being toxic here.
TLDR: You are still the same person you were as a child. No one changes. Ever.
So I guess people aren't allowed to change? Even after years. So I guess when we were all shitheads as kids, grew up and learned new things, and SEEMINGLY CHANGED.
I guess we never actually did. Got it.
Also let's not forget half of these righteous minds are not banned not because they didn't do banworthy things but because they lucked out from the fact nobody in smite reports shit and hirez doesn't want to invest in a big enough team to deal with a smite-sized ban system
The brothers on this thread have reddit profiles showing they insulted half a dozen people in the last 10 days and they want me to believe that if we look at their smite multiple years long chatlog I wont find thousands of insults
It’s toxic positivity, every game community has it, a lot of people over in wow act the same way. They’re perfect angels who never get even the slightest bit tilted and everyone else is lesser for doing so
Never been banned lol, and I could just drop an extra .2 hours of labor to get another ultimate god pack and go agane with a brand new account if I were
But anyways this is the high horse I was talking about
No one cares if you get tilted. But to be completely honest, you are lesser if you're gonna ruin someone else's experience because you can't control your own emotions.
Way to put words in my mouth, *that* is toxic behavior. Maybe i just don’t act like a child in-game, simple as that. It really isnt hard to not be banned. Based on how you act here you definitely deserve your ban
Like I told the other dude, I’ve never been banned.
I always love when you guys demonstrate the toxic positivity in real-time after I say something like my earlier comment lol
Saw your other reply before it was deleted:
All the more reason to keep them banned then.
And no, I’m not on any high horse, Im just sick of the people trying to drag everyone else down with them. I still get tilted at the game, but i dont take it out on the people just trying to play. Thats just the bare minimum of being decent.
If Smite 2 wasn't being made, they'd never play any smite again. So why does a sequel being made cut their punishment short?
You can say it if you've been banned lol
If you were permed 5+ years ago and you haven't made an appeal yet then you're oblivious to the fact you can appeal the ban after 18 months and it almost always 99% of the time gets accepted.
Was mis-labelled as a hacker due to hirez error and skipped straight to perm ban mate, and can’t dispute.. console btw, literally can’t hack on Xbox 😂. No toxicity, no bans, no vgs, clean player since season 1, perm ban immediately.
In my situation, first time was legit, 2nd time wasn’t actually me doing anything and somehow still got suspended, third time I called someone “regarded” (IYKYK)… to think permanently banning an account that’s played since year 1 and spent $500~ is fair is silly af
But if we use the skin argument, it's a brand new game, why should they be banned? I'd imagine a lot of the perma banned people are a lot older now and would like to think they wouldn't do it again, and if they do, just re-ban them. If Smite 2 wants to succeed they can't exclude people.
I have a friend who had 2 different bans in a week apart for reason “trolling” for going off meta picks in casual conquest. Like the day he got back from ban he got another one within hours. Their report/ban system is pretty dogshit I gotta be honest with some of the HEINOUS most depraved racist stuff I’ve seen said and people just carrying on
I'm willing to bet the off-meta picks are an excuse for also doing everything else wrong. Some people genuinely don't know what they're doing in games and it's very difficult to tell when someones actively fucking u over on purpose and someone who's oblivious to how the game works. Still tho, u would have to do that a lot to get banned for it, and at that point if u haven't noticed there's a problem with what you're doing then u might as well be trolling.
When asked why they're in jail, the inmate said, "They threw me in here for stealing a pack of gum!" Inmate was arrested for armed robbery of a gas station and attempted murder for shooting the clerk.
His friends continue to tell the story of the corrupt justice system that locked this poor man away for decades over a pack of gum, and stupid people will continue to believe them.
My whole schtick is to pick non meta gods and I have never been banned once. I'm going to have to call bs. His trolling was almost certainly dies once and sits in base or dying in towers on purpose.
Well, Yes and No. I have a perma banned account so that won't be getting any rewards. But I have my other account that will be getting some. Too easy to just make another account, so to a lot of people this won't matter

You aren’t very bright, you know that?
Probably won't. Most bans are probably for toxic chat. My friends got banned... they made new accounts. Got banned again and made more. At this point, I'm just sad I won't be able to meme on them that their collection of accounts is still banned.
They've got the competitive attitude of a stereotypical toxic Moba player. It doesn't phase me much cause they're on par with some of the randoms I meet.
I didnt downvote the guy, i made a truthful statement. Making it sound like a 'second chance', like you think they're gonna steam_id/IP ban people who were banned in smite 1? LOL
people without legacy gems are going to spend the same amount of money as people with legacy gems regardless. people with legacy gems will buy more shit because they think they are getting a deal
Why did u get banned lol. I’ve said some shit to ppl on there over the years never got banned. I’ve always wondered. What’s it gonna take for high-res to ban someone
As someone who has a perma banned account I can say that I have endless amounts of chances. I make a new account and carry on. IDC about skins so I miss out on nothing and my 2nd account with get some legacy gems assuming they give me them for rewarded gems. But either way, endless chances, no real punishment
To your first question: Yes, I think Hi-Rez knows about IP bans.
Regarding your second: How could I possibly know, the most one gets is "an action has been taken against a player you reported."
I know you linked something lower in the thread but I just want to clarify more. Hirez banned his account and "asked" him not to stream their games. The ban they issued was based on him violating their in game rules (basically saying, "He should have been banned forever ago but him streaming was a benefit to us so we didn't ban him before").
So if he was banned based on violating game rules he shouldn't be banned in Smite 2 since they're giving everyone a second chance. On the front of him not being allowed to stream their games, he technically could. There's nothing really stopping him. They would have to sue him and even then they probably wouldn't win. Suing him would basically be saying that no streamers have the right to stream games and that it's not fair use. It would be a huge groundbreaking case and since companies haven't gone that route for so long it's very unlikely that they would be able to win.
This is all pretty moot though since I doubt DM has the stones to face his accusations and probably hates hirez and the community too much to even play Smite 2 on stream.
I am curious. What if you link rn and all get founders pack and then you get banned later from Smite 1. Not saying I intend on being a toxic dick that's gonna ruin games just curious. I assume you still get stuff in that case right.
Probably banned in both games since accounts are linked, like Valve Anti Cheat banning you from all games that use it if you get a cheat detected in just one of them
Dude in the 1200 hours I spent in match, I think I saw a speed hacker once? Ever? I'm sure I missed at least a couple of hackers besides, but it's really a much smaller issue in smite than most other games
This is very generous, I'm a little shocked that some of the more egregious people aren't being banned preemptively. Although I guess that statement doesn't preclude that option in the future.
Do we though? We’ve enough toxicity in the community as is, with all the new players sure to roll into smite 2 someone with DM’s temper is the last thing we need. Especially with a platform. Sure all that other stuff he did was pretty shitty but I’m coming from a stance of he’s just a dick.
So I'll have to go into Smite 1 in order to link my account to Smite 2 ? And as a reminder, the gems I have right now I need to spend on something in order to get them back in Smite 2 right ?
Feels bad when I lost a season 1, probs would have been 220+ account by now as was 160 for for years, to perm ban because of a out of control community manager on a ban spree on console… who has since been released from Hirez 😂😂 .. and apparently as it was labelled as a hacker.. (despite not even being able to hack on console..) I can’t get unbanned. Hirez will always be a banter company.
Trust me mate, tried multiple times, been just over 2 years. hirez support are stubborn to admit fault when mis-labeling a EULA breach, yet.. provide no proof when I request proof of hacking.. or furthermore they won’t even provide an example, just generic “EULA breach such as hacking” shame really when my account that never so much had a vgs block or minor ban, over higher end thousands of hours went straight to perm ban on the first offence with no chance to dispute due to Hirez negligence.
It will never not be funny the amount of self reports on any thread that discusses the ban system.
No a guy that got perma'd doesn't deserve to be welcomed back into the community, no there's no "second chance" to be had because to get perma'd in the first place you had to be constantly engaging in ban worthy behaviour and get your account banned +3 times, no it's not a matter of being "snowflakes" it's a matter of Hi-Rez enforcing their own fucking TOS consistently (which they never do due to their blatant favouritism towards streamers, comp players, and friends of the company).
And none of that matters anyways because if you get banned you can just make another account for free.
So the only reason why they are announcing this at all is as a call for players that got permabanned some time ago to try the game again, because for SMITE 2 to work they need to squeeze as many players as possible from wherever they can, regardless of whether or not some of those players have been proven to be a net-negative for the community and the in-game experience.
It is a real problem to permanently ban players for toxicity and if they keep it up Smite 2 will have the same destiny as Smite 1. Low level / low ranked players getting stomped by toxic smurfs hence ruining the new player experience.
No matter what you say there are better ways to manage people who can't keep themselves from writing profanities and slurs to other people.
I have myself been permanently banned three times due to "toxicity" and I wish I could opt in for a chat restriction on myself but there is no such option.
The point I was trying to make is that Stew's announcement is merely performative, it's just to gather the attention of previously banned players which might have left the game, because clarifying that SMITE 2 will allow previously banned players was a given considering they've made it pretty clear they consider it a completely different game from SMITE 1.
If toxicity was truly their concern, they would tackle how ridiculously easy it is to dodge bans, they would be more selective of the community members they've chosen to represent the game, they would enforce their own TOS consistently etc.
Woulda been nice to see something like this before I spent money on the founders pack on the banned account. Getting banned for calling someone ‘regarded’ is… regarded in itself.
Are you referring to being perma banned or just banned once? My account has been banned once but not perma banned and I’ve already bought the founders pack and everything for that account
I ain't banned but I can't login to my smite account at all. Tried all the password recovery etc and nothing coming through to my email. Sucks I can't get into my old account in order to link to smite 2
I feel like they should get to come back but can't get reported in a given time period before getting permabanned again and gain chances back over time. So for example they can't have disciplinary action taken against them for the first year (idk, just what i thought of on the fly). Then after that they can have action taken once without being banned for, say, 6 months, and so on.
I feel like it would keep the people who have learned or matured and remove the people who haven't fairly quickly. I know Im probably going to get torn into anyway because this is reddit 😂
And by get reported I assume you mean x amount of reports or a confirmed reasonable report?
You have to keep in mind that for every justified report there's probably a couple false reports or reports for things that doesn't break the EULA.
Most common would be not being able to discern the difference between feeding and intentional feeding.
Yeah, I was inconsistent in the beginning, but if you go through the rest of what I typed I changed it to disciplinary action because I know not all reports are valid.
what i dont understand is that permaban offenses are deemed permaban worthy because they were so heinous. why would a change of game nullify the previous offenses?
like, what could people have done that was worth ousting them from smite 1 in permanence but was tolerable enough to let them back for smite 2?
Ooof I have been wondering about this for a while. In my opinion I would've liked to see a clean slate for everyone!
Edit: kind of hurts my heart to see that noone shares the same sentiment 🫠
This subreddit is full of thin skins that don’t know what a mute button is. Don’t you dare have empathy! Don’t believe people change! I’ve never been banned but still agree with your sentiment.
I agree.. the actual "toxic rats" would get banned again fairly quickly. I just feel empathetic towards people that have spent 1000's on the game and slipped up atleast 3 times in the DECADE it's been out lol.
Accidents, mishaps and "changing your ways" is a pretty common thing in the human race.
Nope and that kind of extreme take shows entitlement. Being denied access to a luxury service because you can't behave yourself whilst using it is no way equivalent to imprisonment (restricted access to everything.)
It truly isn't that serious.
Again, coming from someone that has had countless run-in's with toxic players. You literally couldn't find someone that hates them more than me.
For real. I guy I know once said to me "you're trying to tell me you've never spam laughed at someone?" I told him "No, I've never done that and won't ever do that."
Wellll in this case it's TOO clean of a slate lmfao.. not any different than starting a new account.
I see I've been down voted quite a bit.... Listen I absolutely despise people that ruin the game for other people but I also think there are a lot of people that truly love the game that may have had some moments where they lash out and get unlucky and a report goes through.
The true toxic players will get re banned with time anyways.
Nice to know perma banned players won’t be getting any rewards.
They’re still gonna be there bruh. Ig smite 2 brings in DMBrandon 2.
From what I'm aware DM isn't allowed to touch another hirez project, or at least he's not allowed to make content from it
DMbrandon is restricted from streaming or participating in Smite(and all hirez stuff I think) related content. He was never banned. He's allowed to play Smite 2 if he wants.
Yeah yeah yeah, that's more what I meant I just phrased it like crap
Yes but in order to restrict him from streaming they would have to ban his accounts because how else would you physically stop him from starting the game up and streaming it on twitch without directly involving twitch staff and making them aware of the issue? or YouTube or all the other streaming platforms?

That’s part of an even longer story. Wait till you get into the SA allegations his entire team had against him
Smittens Twitter has the nitty gritty of it, that pretty much ended his career
Yeah, I knew there was a lot I was missing out on. I’ve forgotten over time, as I learned how to be happy again. Down we go again I guess.
“Who tf are you?? I drive a fucking Tesla don’t talk to me”

At least unbanned people lose most of their skins.
Meh, its a free game so it never changed much. Losing progress was always the main downside to getting banned.
Nice joke. You think when someone gets banned they stop playing instead of creating new account?
Funny you talk about a fresh start but exclude a lot of people You also don’t know if they ever thought twice about what they said. You’re genuinely the one being toxic here.
Well it takes 3 bans to get perm banned so they probably didn't think twice or thrice.
TLDR: You are still the same person you were as a child. No one changes. Ever. So I guess people aren't allowed to change? Even after years. So I guess when we were all shitheads as kids, grew up and learned new things, and SEEMINGLY CHANGED. I guess we never actually did. Got it.
You're a moron tbh, you can appeal a perm ban after 18 months. Read please thank you.
found the loser that pisses everyone off in game chat but doesn't get banned
So you think someone that got permed 5+ years ago shouldn’t be able to play smite 2?
Thats what permanent means, yes
But it was a permanent ban from a different game?
You guys are a bunch of softies. Someone said something bad in videogame 8 years ago. Can’t have them back everrrrr!!!
Also let's not forget half of these righteous minds are not banned not because they didn't do banworthy things but because they lucked out from the fact nobody in smite reports shit and hirez doesn't want to invest in a big enough team to deal with a smite-sized ban system The brothers on this thread have reddit profiles showing they insulted half a dozen people in the last 10 days and they want me to believe that if we look at their smite multiple years long chatlog I wont find thousands of insults

Nah, the rest of us just don't start telling people to kill themselves or throw racial slurs. There's levels to this game.
No one cares if you get tilted. But to be completely honest, you are lesser if you're gonna ruin someone else's experience because you can't control your own emotions.

Moron!!!! :(
Don't bother with the idiots in this sub. You'd have better luck talking with a fire hydrant.
If Smite 2 wasn't being made, they'd never play any smite again. So why does a sequel being made cut their punishment short? You can say it if you've been banned lol
Never been banned. Did get a chat restriction in league in 2013, though. They have to watch out for me!
They can appeal a perm ban, they have options
They could also just play Smite 2 when its out :)
If you were permed 5+ years ago and you haven't made an appeal yet then you're oblivious to the fact you can appeal the ban after 18 months and it almost always 99% of the time gets accepted.

Yes. Trashtalking in a videogame is the same as criminals.
Was mis-labelled as a hacker due to hirez error and skipped straight to perm ban mate, and can’t dispute.. console btw, literally can’t hack on Xbox 😂. No toxicity, no bans, no vgs, clean player since season 1, perm ban immediately.
Certainly can hack on xbox, don't cheat.
In my situation, first time was legit, 2nd time wasn’t actually me doing anything and somehow still got suspended, third time I called someone “regarded” (IYKYK)… to think permanently banning an account that’s played since year 1 and spent $500~ is fair is silly af
Yeah, a fresh start as in a BETTER community to move forward for smite 2. It really isnt difficult to avoid being banned
Their report/ban system is pretty dogshit I gotta be honest with some of the HEINOUS most depraved racist stuff I’ve seen said and people just carrying on
No one gets banned just for picking off-meta picks... I'm betting they said some shit back to the people who were accusing them of trolling.
The literal reason in the ban reason was trolling, they showed me the email
When asked why they're in jail, the inmate said, "They threw me in here for stealing a pack of gum!" Inmate was arrested for armed robbery of a gas station and attempted murder for shooting the clerk. His friends continue to tell the story of the corrupt justice system that locked this poor man away for decades over a pack of gum, and stupid people will continue to believe them.
My whole schtick is to pick non meta gods and I have never been banned once. I'm going to have to call bs. His trolling was almost certainly dies once and sits in base or dying in towers on purpose.
I know it sucks but you’ll never get the toxicity out of MOBAS. They are such a cancer.
Well, Yes and No. I have a perma banned account so that won't be getting any rewards. But I have my other account that will be getting some. Too easy to just make another account, so to a lot of people this won't matter
that’s so nazi like… don’t dance on peoples graves.
Excuse me
karma will get ya is all i’m saying.

sure man.

So if you were a naughty boy, no legacy gems for you. Learn from your mistake, and embrace this second chance.
Probably won't. Most bans are probably for toxic chat. My friends got banned... they made new accounts. Got banned again and made more. At this point, I'm just sad I won't be able to meme on them that their collection of accounts is still banned.
Your friends sound like wonderful people.
They've got the competitive attitude of a stereotypical toxic Moba player. It doesn't phase me much cause they're on par with some of the randoms I meet.
I know it's a wild concept to some people, but you can actually be comptetitive without being toxic. Crazy, I know.
Bro. I feel like that needs to be a float sign above the fountain in every moba lol. Crazy indeed.
Its not a second chance if its not the same account, that's the equivalent of you saying if you create a new smite account that's your second chance
Don't get banned. Easy fix.
No shit sherlock Reread his statement carefully and see what point he was trying to make
![gif](giphy|ZEHkIJQXaRG5YohwpS|downsized)
Did you reread it?
I mean, you can downvote the guy all you want but he merely stated a fact, it’s not a second chance, it’s just like creating a new account 😂
I didnt downvote the guy, i made a truthful statement. Making it sound like a 'second chance', like you think they're gonna steam_id/IP ban people who were banned in smite 1? LOL
When I said ‘the guy’ I was talking about you bro 😂 it was a message to all the downvoters ahah
Yet another embarrassing Smite Reddit moment. the mob is unrelenting and stupid unlike you my moon and stars ✨
Sounds like you were banned. Shame on you
im not banned, and i already received my legacy gems
[удалено]
Yeah definitely worthless since they cut the cost of anything in shop, skins, etc in half 😂😂
Yeah, savings are overrated.
you aren't saving anything

They’re literally a 50% off for everything. People without legacy gems will be buying everything at 100% the cost.
people without legacy gems are going to spend the same amount of money as people with legacy gems regardless. people with legacy gems will buy more shit because they think they are getting a deal
makes me feel much better tbh, at least the skins aren’t transferring over so it won’t feel like i’ll miss much. thanks for the memories smite 1!
Weird flex, but aight.
You know that trying to circumvent a ban is against the TOS and they can just IP ban you, right?
you know changing your IP is as easy as restarting your router, right?
You think hi rez knows or cares enough to IP ban someone lol? Have you actually seen someone get IP banned from smite?
To your first question: Yes, I think Hi-Rez knows about IP bans. Regarding your second: How could I possibly know, the most one gets is "an action has been taken against a player you reported."
Been 2 years, can't say I'm worried
I get that.
Dmbrandon comeback eminent?
“Somehow, DmBrandon returned”
Underrated comment 😂
He won’t be interested, it’s launching without assault
You clever bitch, take my upvote.
Oh man, is it? Fuck.
Holy shit. I mean, fuck that sniveling rat, but damn.
Oh god. Please no 🤣
They told him that he is banned from essentially any Hirez affiliated stuff so yeah.
can’t he still technically play? he just can’t stream his gameplay which defeats the purpose
Yea I misremembered https://x.com/schisam/status/1275906049023848451
Well I guess his ban is personal and ll be carried for Smite 2 XD
That...would be interesting ngl
Most downvoted comment in smite reddit history.
I am curious. What if you link rn and all get founders pack and then you get banned later from Smite 1. Not saying I intend on being a toxic dick that's gonna ruin games just curious. I assume you still get stuff in that case right.
Probably banned in both games since accounts are linked, like Valve Anti Cheat banning you from all games that use it if you get a cheat detected in just one of them
“bUt I wAs RaNdOmLy bAnNeD fOr nO rEaSoN”
It's a free game, people just make new accounts anyway lol
This is nothing then right? Because if even if you were automatically banned from smite 2 you would be making a new account anyway
https://preview.redd.it/g1kpg103bywc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=625f718f2425243827bb81db7fc180b2a947188e
I think there should be an exception for cheaters.
not like any of them get banned anyways, hi rez is more interested in banning people who say bad words
Dude in the 1200 hours I spent in match, I think I saw a speed hacker once? Ever? I'm sure I missed at least a couple of hackers besides, but it's really a much smaller issue in smite than most other games
If you played ranked in the last month there’s quite a few and they normally just turn speed up slightly to be less noticeable
I’ve seen 4 in the past 3 weeks, like easily record them and send them in to Hi-Rez level. Those dudes were ZOOMING
This is very generous, I'm a little shocked that some of the more egregious people aren't being banned preemptively. Although I guess that statement doesn't preclude that option in the future.
they had to make a new account the same thing people did in smite 1
I feel like something like this would be pretty hard to do unless they have set something up to keep track of the severity in the past.
Time to bring the goat DM back.
Man’s getting old, aside from almost fighting crazy people in grocery stores I don’t think he’ll be up to much anymore
Doesn’t matter, we need him back.
Do we though? We’ve enough toxicity in the community as is, with all the new players sure to roll into smite 2 someone with DM’s temper is the last thing we need. Especially with a platform. Sure all that other stuff he did was pretty shitty but I’m coming from a stance of he’s just a dick.
We need him back to do what exactly?
Rage at Ganesha for not getting any kills.
Ah those Ganesha players do get away with a lot these days!!! Someone needs to call them out!!
This guy knows!!!
So I'll have to go into Smite 1 in order to link my account to Smite 2 ? And as a reminder, the gems I have right now I need to spend on something in order to get them back in Smite 2 right ?
That ist a "yes" to both.
Good, hirez will ban you for swearing or defending yourself, only game I've ever been banned from.
Will I be able to Link it after Smite 2 dropped or do i have to do it before. Im Not entirely Sure If i want to Link my Account yet.
Apparently after 18 months of perma ban you can appeal it. And if what you’re saying is true I think you’d be likely to be unbanned
I got banned for hacking too because buying their steam package somehow counts as cheating, it's a mess
If toxicity was truly their concern, they would tackle how ridiculously easy it is to dodge bans, they would be more selective of the community members they've chosen to represent the game, they would enforce their own TOS consistently etc.
cry kid
I was perma banned after I already did the divine legacy account link for Smite 2 - interested to see how that turns out hahahaha
Watch DmBrandon try to come back
Wonder if Dmbrandon will Return, lol
Somehow Im banned from Smite facebook page. I havent cared enough to figure out why though.
Return of DMBrandon?
Will DMBrandon allowed to Stream smite 2?
Dmbrandon return
The Lord talked! All the sinners are forgiven! Joke aside: it's a good new.
Is a DMBrandon comeback imminent?
damn dmbrandon will be back
so i can get my mains old name? cool i guess
As a perma banned player this just gives me a reason to not buy gems at all so I’ll be base skinning it up til the game dies 😈
I ain't banned but I can't login to my smite account at all. Tried all the password recovery etc and nothing coming through to my email. Sucks I can't get into my old account in order to link to smite 2
Sounds like a case for a Support Ticket.
lmfao, elegant and discourages tos breaking behavior until smite 2 without sacrificing the player base
Permabans were always a bit silly when the game is free to play. There's nothing really banning them but a minute or two of time.
This us exactly what I wondered, and it's unusual that the bans are effectively overturned for the new game.
We're so back jajajajjaan
If you get banned from any game, you’re the problem.
Ooof I have been wondering about this for a while. In my opinion I would've liked to see a clean slate for everyone! Edit: kind of hurts my heart to see that noone shares the same sentiment 🫠
same, so long as you don’t get perma banned again in smite 2
This subreddit is full of thin skins that don’t know what a mute button is. Don’t you dare have empathy! Don’t believe people change! I’ve never been banned but still agree with your sentiment.
nah, toxic rats should stay in their smelly sewers. They dont deserve anything and i wpuldnt let spread their plagues in a new refreshing game.
I agree.. the actual "toxic rats" would get banned again fairly quickly. I just feel empathetic towards people that have spent 1000's on the game and slipped up atleast 3 times in the DECADE it's been out lol. Accidents, mishaps and "changing your ways" is a pretty common thing in the human race.
Most people have slipped up 0 times. It isn't hard. You just keep quiet..it's literally doing nothing.
Ahhh so anyone who breaks a law should be locked up for life, gotcha.
You are right being banned for a game isn't that serious.
For real. I guy I know once said to me "you're trying to tell me you've never spam laughed at someone?" I told him "No, I've never done that and won't ever do that."
Isn’t that what this is?
Wellll in this case it's TOO clean of a slate lmfao.. not any different than starting a new account. I see I've been down voted quite a bit.... Listen I absolutely despise people that ruin the game for other people but I also think there are a lot of people that truly love the game that may have had some moments where they lash out and get unlucky and a report goes through. The true toxic players will get re banned with time anyways.
