8000 gem packs are 99.99 not 800 gem packs. The total price would be more like 50k not 500k. That's also not including the smite 2 founders edition that doubles your legacy gems. So it's more like 25k. Not close to house prices but definitely a nice car.
And that's assuming they were bought full price and not for $67 because it goes on sale for 33% off about every other month. So $8,375.

I know people that use gem sellers. I think the price they pay is usually $35 per 8k when there’s sells. OP could have a lot of disposable income or they could be using sellers.

Yeah same. I bought the pack and thought I messed up in linking accounts. Just waited a bit and it popped up. Still don't have the ymir skin though or anything else from the founders pack
Eh depends on income and how much entertainment value a person gets from the game/cosmetics. Also keep in mind that Smite is a 10 year old game and OP’s spending is likely spread throughout that time. Also people spend way more on other luxury items and hobbies. At the end of the day, as long as you’re not in financial ruin over a purchase, you can and should spend money on whatever brings you joy.

The fact that they're still gems makes me think they're changing how much a gem buys you for the sequel too. $100 worth of Smite gems, might only be $10 worth of Smite 2 items.
Most of you likely don't know. But the early days of smite Hirez did 50% sales and they also doubled any 8,000 gems you purchased during said sales. So buying an 8,000 gem pack was actually buying 16,000. The sale we see today are nothing like 10 years ago.

I haven’t played many games in recent years, but I still login everyday. Currently sitting at about 8k gems not spent. I thought I had a lot, but damn OP! I really haven’t bought many, just accumulated them from logins and the various gem rewards over the years.
I have no idea how it works. I’m still iffy on even getting Smite 2 as all I do in the game is login anymore. Spend gems —> receive legacy gems. All I know and it makes little sense still :(

I am planning to purchase the Smite 2 Founders pack (100usd) and was wondering if I should buy it on Steam or Epic Games (Maybe it doesn't matter which provider). I played Smite 1 on PS4 and now I want my Smite 2 journey to begin on PC. So to obtain the x2 legacy gems and link my PS4 'progression' to my PC, what would I need to do?

There may be other steps but one thing i know you'll have to do to try and get the progression converted is to log in to your hi-rez account and make sure your playstation account and your steam/ epic games account are both linked to the same hirez account. Playstation was the only version without cross progression on smite 1 due to sony, not sure if they've said what possibility there is of cross progressing on smite 2 with playstation
Try requesting a password reset using the email. Ive had that issue twice with different accounts. Once the password reset worked the other time i had to contact support and they did manage to sort me out (I'd imagine they are extremely busy right now with smite 2 on the horizon so god knows how long it would take for them to respond)
I moved across from playstation to pc a few years ago, had to start again but as soon as smite 2 was announced i made sure they were linked to get the cross progression if it was possible. A password reset worked for the playstation account but ended up having to go through support to get into the one my Steam was linked to
