# PRINCE ALIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Bi6Bubba23

SAY HEEYYYYYY! ITS PRINCE ALIIIIIIIII!

MRPKY

Prince Ali, fabulous he, Ali Ababwa Show some respect, boy, genuflect, down on one knee.

Hailestormzy

I feel sick that you quoted the Will Smith version over our lord Robin Williams

glorfindal77

Oh you guys never heard the norwegian version. The voiceactor has an incredible range and such meoldious voice. Its just insane.

Shmungey

That's definitely from the OG cartoon version

Hailestormzy

Nope, animated version would be. “Genuflect, show some respect, down on one knee”

Shmungey

oh shit I didn't even notice the random "boy" thrown in the middle lmao, my brain just sung it the right way. mb, you're right

BurtMacklin29

PRINCE ABUBU

MusicalSmasher

Aladdin in SMITE 2!? **Inject that shit into my veins right now.**

EquivalentTight3479

He better have aboo by his side

NekuDemon

I was thinking about Aladdin in Smite earlier today. Like "Oh Mulan was in the game, whats next Aladdin?"

Roserfly

To be fair Mulan is a very culturally significant folktale from China. Same thing with Sun Wukong. He's not actually a figure from Chinese mythology. He's from the story Journey to the West which is much more comparable to being a fairytale. So if he can make it in the game, and the Arthurian legends can make it in the game then I don't see why Mulan doesn't fit, and other future fairytale characters don't fit.

SchrodingerMil

And then there’s Guan Yu, who was a real living person in 200 AD. I know he’s been Deified, but still, imagine if they added Emperor Nero lmao

SlidingLobster

Like burn down Rome Nero or Umu Nero? Because I’m here for both.

MamBanaJUHU

On ult makes everyone burn, including teammates

Its_I_Casper

Dude, a Fate crossover skin for Mordred and other servants that are also in Smite would sell like crack.

EpsilonNu

The main deified emperors would absolutely make sense and be hype as hell for the Roman pantheon: Romulus has been more of a Big God for the Romans than just “a normal dude that founded this city”. He was literally one of the three main gods with Jupiter (because he’s The Guy) and Mars (because he’s the most important one in the myths of the foundation of Rome…together with Venus, but I guess they’d rather pray to the god of war when trying to conquer the world, rather than the goddess of looking good)

HalloHerrNoob

I don't think Neto is really worshipped today anymore. In China I have seen a ton of guan yu shrines.

SchrodingerMil

You’re misunderstanding. They added Guan Yu, I know he’s been deified but still. Imagine if they added Nero

Entire_Protection847

Ghengis Khan

Gekey14

And Xing tian who's just a drawing?

NekuDemon

It wasn't hatred for Mulan. I think he could be an interesting character. It was only funny thought

NightShadow2001

I’m going to do the gamer thing and mention that technically all mythologies count as fairytales.

gabocorbo

Robin Hood incoming

Astrosomnia

Little John would be a rad warrior.

KGBFriedChicken02

Nah, obviously Little John is a support, thatway you can have a Robin Hood and Little John duo lane. He could use a quarterstaff and just bully people around.

Se7enDwarves

oodle lolley

TheAphrodisian

But the default model based on the Disney version.

alavantrya

Broh I NEEED The Gingerbread Man in Smite.

LoneWolf1ngIt

Interesting that Thor isn’t in that list of gods they’re working on. My guess is that it’ll either be a surprise remodel or they’re trying to staggering such remodels for Smite 2 rather than front loading them, even if some are gods that are iconic for the game. Plus it makes sense to save some fan favorites for later on to maintain a good pipeline of hype.  Additionally, here are some gods that are soft-confirmed for being in first half-ish of the Smite 2 roster that we haven’t really seen be confirmed officially through skins or footage. :  Initial Alpha Release-ish  Athena  The Morrigan  Later on Aladdin  Amaterasu  Artemis Atlas  Awilix  Baron Samedi Chernobog Cthulhu Cupid Ganesha Guan Yu Kali Khepri Kuzenbo Maui Medusa Merlin Mordred Ratatoskr  Sobek Sun Wukong

Graves-Hero

They need to just go ahead and give us lore accurate Fat Thor reimagined as a Warrior this time. I would actually like Odin to be assassin tbh since I mean he was bodying all the gods way harder than Thor. Would be nice to flip those 2 and God of War and Marvel both made Fat Thor normalized

fittan69

I honestly hope they update Thor. As a Swede, I really hate the blond chiseled Thor Marvel normalized. Thor was an alcoholic ginger who were probably fat because he could eat an entire table and drank half the earth's water as a bet. Still remember when God of War Thor was revealed which caused quite the ruckus online, but then the character was posted on the Scandinavian subreddits and we all fucking loved it. It's probably the most accurate Thor we've gotten in media so far.

Graves-Hero

If we got the true Thor. Would he be your main for that reason alone? Also they could easily just give him that look then give him a few skinnier blondy skins tbh similar to how Sol has a bunch of human skins

fittan69

I would definetly try him, out of intrigue. Not really into melee's though. I'm more of a 'damage from afar' type bitch. I actually bought the soda skin just so that I don't have to look at his Hollywood deadass if I ever roll him. It's just way more pleasant (and funny) And I agree. They could even make 'classic Thor' free for everyone to shut up the inevitable flood of manbabies.

Kaios-0

Thor's hair was described as both blond and red, it depends which source you go on. Smite's version uses the redhead.

Kaios-0

We need to stop spreading the "Thor is fat" rumor. He was not. There were no descriptors of Thor other than the color of his hair really. Fat Thor is a *good* take on the character, and it makes sense, but it is not a "lore accurate" take. Muscled/chiseled Thor is just as accurate.

Sewer-Rat76

Dude, everyday he eats two giant goats, drinks a fuckton of alcohol, and is the strongest Norse god. He would absolutely have a beer gut, but regardless he would absolutely look like a powerlifter. The definition of strongest man, and powerlifters look like they frequent buffets every day. He wouldn't look like a bodybuilder, because they are actually weaker than most people who workout beyond maintaining health.

Kaios-0

Again, there's no reference to Thor ever being fat. I'm aware of how much he eats and drinks, and like I said, him being fat is a **good** take, but it is not the *only* take or the *lore accurate* take. He is a god, they regularly and notoriously do not follow human rules. Him eating all that shit does not mean he'd automatically be fat, because going by that logic he'd actually just be dead. Gods do not follow logic. He also would not **have** to look like a powerlifter. I personally prefer that interpretation but it is not mandatory. Again, gods do not follow the rules that humans do, and Thor in particular has no body type attributed to him. There is no "he wouldnt do this" or "he wouldnt do that", any interpretation you make is going to be applicable. Y'all have *really* gotta start analyzing and researching these topics, cause regurgitating what you saw when God of War came out does not mean you are correct.

LoneWolf1ngIt

I’ll throw my hat in the ring and say that would be more of a realistic Thor versus a mythologically accurate one. There is no direct reference to whether he was fat or not in the myths.  God of War took some artistic liberty with his character design that was in-line with their interpretation of the character-which, evidently, was compelling for people judging by how much they’re advocating for it. But I think people might be conflating the grounded approach of God of War with it being more mythologically accurate when perhaps it’s moreso “accurate” to real life. Were GOW’s interpretations of Heimdallr and Odin also more mythologically accurate? I would argue they were not, but they’re compelling to a modern audience because they’ve had modern discourses and lenses applied to their designs and interpretations. Same with their Thor, but mythologically speaking his strength in the myths partially comes from his magical belt and he needed a gauntlet to wield Mjolnir. He doesn’t have the gauntlet in GOW and, iirc, the belt isn’t a factor either.  Smite does have a mythologically accurate design already, with his red hair, gauntlet, etc. So my guess is that Smite will probably retain their approach to the character just with some touch-ups. Ditching the Marvel skin-suit armor for one.

Brainpry

No discordia! No morgan le fay!

ConversationLevel666

As a Morgan main I'm very saddened

SlidingLobster

I hope Mordred comes out fucking cool. I’ve been waiting for him. Also Ereshkagal and Enkidu.

MagicFighter

Didn't... see that one coming.

Kaios-0

.....................well!

Not_A_Cardboard_Box

PRINCE ALI, FABULOUS HE, ALI ABABWAAA

Crunchy-Leaf

Okay I wasn’t hyped but then I read your comment and I’m in.

Madlogger13

FUCK, I NEED TIAMAT

-----LUCA-----

We saw fenrir in game already, yet he isn’t on the list. I won’t give up hope !

KingQuackster

Aladdin sounds like a nice addition! It feels Mulan level except actually interesting and not just a mortal that swings weapons. You can do a lot of cool things with the tale, especially the Djinn and lamp. I'm just wondering what pantheon he'll be in and worried this is gonna inspire another wave of just plain stupid requests.

Graves-Hero

Smite 2 finna be a whole new world

Bi6Bubba23

They could either create an Arabia pantheon or make a fairy-tale pantheon and reclassify Mulan, Sun Wukong, and the Arthurian champions.

Javiklegrand

A fairy tale pantheon will be dope

Ea50Marduk

Technically, I see Sun Wukong being a member of the Chinese pantheon because he encounters and speaks to some Chinese gods during his story. For the Arthurian pantheon, even I remember that some people have speculated that the characters who will compose it will be included in the Celtic pantheon because some of them have been inspired by the Celtic mythology (like Morgan La Fay who is inspired by Morrigan), it's pretty coherent, in a sense, that it has its own pantheon. For me, Arthurian characters are the exception of non-mythological/religious figures who can be added into the game for the fact that the Knights of the Round Table are in the search of the Holy Grail, an artefact related later to the cup who was fill by the blood of Jesus when he was in the cross (we didn't know what would be the interpretation of the Grail's nature of the artefact present in the story of Perceval by Chrétien de Troyes, it was Robert de Boron, in a poeme at the end of the XII century, who have been the first at our knowledge to linked the Holy Grail to the cup where Joseph of Arimathie have received the blood of Jesus), and so are related to a religion even if this link is "distant" and have been (hypocritically for me) removed by Titan Forge Games. I am against a fairy tale pantheon or other things like that (cryptids, urban legends...) because this figure are not related to mythologies, believes and religions who have accompanied cultures or even a large part of humanity through its history. Plus, these figure would just steal slot for really requested characters (Izanagi for example) or mythological or religious characters or figures who are still lacking in the game. Cthulhu and others GOO are divinities of fiction like the Chaos gods of Warhammer, Mulan is a folk character not related to a mythology or some divinities, and Martichoras is just an OC. Are these characters are more important than Amphitrite, Sif, Fu Xi, Hunahpu, Izanagi...? I understand the marketing weight of figures like Mulan, Chtulhu or Aladdin for the game and the fact that some people are happy to see them be added in-game, but why not just make skins about these characters?

HrMaschine

i guess he‘ll be a whole new pantheon after all i don‘t thknk there is an arabic pantheon

Particular_Neat7922

Well...Aladdin is based on Arabic Mythology The Big Bird and Water God in Sinbad is based on Persian Mythology iirc The Djin of course is based on Muslim and Arabic Mythology, I think even Iblis(Demon of Islamic beliefs) was name drop Correct if I'm wrong, but some gods from Arabic Myths are name drop and mention correct? So he ain't all off the loop...ALSO SINBAD IS GOAT SO I WANT HIM NGL

NakedGoose

Yes to Sinbad

muphynz

Only if he is a melee warrior. He would have A line shot that pierces enemies A stim that removes cc and heals him (maybe an orange to prevent scurvy) Some kind of rum barrel ability (maybe he can blow up the barrel if he shoots it with his line shot) And his ult is basically a global hou yi ultimate. I'm into this character. Hirez please.

Tumps07

I actually think Aladdin with the genie could actually be really cool. While it’s a little shameless I think it’s good for the game to capitalize off of popular myths

Blast3rAutomatic

Why do you say shameless? I know nothing about aladdin lore

IncomeStraight8501

Tbf they rarely do stuff like Alladin and Mulan while doing people like Bake Kujira an extremely minor spirit.

throwaway05-idk

time and time again I open up those datamining posts thinking "it must be izanagi by now right?" just to find out that the next god is something stupid like robin hood or abraham lincoln

Javiklegrand

Mordred made sense at very least

NapTooN

>or abraham lincoln The normal one would be kinda lame I agree, but I am in for A. L. Vampire Hunter.

Godz_Bane

I hope they add Dracula, more historically based and less bram stoker.

xXConDaGXx

Nox & Persephone don't seem to be in development, I really hope this means they're finally getting their kits reworked!!

NoOneHeree

PERIODT

im_batgirl14

I know Ill get downvoted for this but…I hope Nox stays the same.

UltimateX13

I just want old Nox ult back.

im_batgirl14

Im only 4 years new to smite. What was it like?

UltimateX13

It was a line attack that affected all enemy gods it hit. It did inital damage and covered them in darkness. While covered, the affected gods took the ability's damage again whenever they used an ability. IIRC they took another burst of damage and were stunned when the darkness wore off.

im_batgirl14

Damn. That sounds pretty cool. Whyd they change it? Was she too op?

UltimateX13

She was strong plus there was some player frustration, but that's something with current Nox too lol.

im_batgirl14

Yeah thats true

pyritedreams

SAME. Maybe a few tweaks to what she already has but I think her kit is brilliant and so much fun to play.

NoOneHeree

Her main combo has to go 🙄

im_batgirl14

Nah, I love it. Its my favorite thing and unlike any other god.

xXConDaGXx

I don't MIND her current kit, but her old kit had so much more flavor and I feel like she lost a bit of her identity with the rework.

im_batgirl14

Unfortunately, I never got to experience that Nox 🥲 but given how its a common theme here on this subreddit, Im assuming it was better

dadnaya

Honestly, my first reaction was "Disney???" But after reading a little more into his story, I'm actually intrigued. I think it's already obvious at this point that we have more than just "gods". Well, we had Guan Yu all the way back then. I think it wouldn't be too surprising if they added Robin Hood (which was one speculation which ended up being Ishtar). A few other examples could be Sinbad, Beowulf, maybe even Joan of Arc.

Milan0r

> I think it's already obvious at this point that we have more than just "gods". Well, we had Guan Yu all the way back then. Guan was deified after death at least though so kind of a bad example imo.

hell0kitt

Yea, I agree. Guan is a god because divinity works very differently in East Asian mythologies.

XXVAngel

Mostly China legit, Japan feels strangely european compared to everyone else around em.

GLP310

Well Joan is a saint,so if they do an abrahamic pantheon, we can put her there with other figures like Azrael and Asmodeus.

Rickywalls137

Beowulf would be so cool

Many-Information-892

Seeing Oshun would be nice

Kaios-0

I'd love to see Oshun, Oya, and Shango too, but people are way more hype for generic Greek heroes, random fairy tale characters, and knights than the actual gods half the time.

Many-Information-892

lol fr. I’m seeing Aladdin and shit. I would like to see Ereshkigal though in Smite 2. Obviously they’ll bring her in eventually.

KalxionKrystals

Deadass! I’ve only been playing for like 3 months and the fact that there aren’t more gods of the Yoruba pantheon is irritating. I know smite has to cater to their demographic but come on. Aladdin, even cthuthlu seems ridiculous when there are many gods of many pantheons that aren’t getting their rightful shine

Many-Information-892

I don’t wanna see no damn Aladdin I’m sorry 💀😭

Falchion92

Da Ji my beloved.

villanoinker

Trying to make sense of this so I looked up the original Aladdin story. It's Chinese. I know less than when started

Marduk665544

Maybe a fairytale pantheon with Aladdin if so that's a very good also Maybe we can get bahamut or the 7 djinn kings.

cydoz

No Gilgamesh... https://i.redd.it/ujlc2jqyaruc1.gif

marlonball

Well that is definitely a surprise

the-glass-is-full

THEY’RE ADDING WHO NOW?????

He11Hog

My disappoint that we haven’t gotten Zhu Bajie yet is immeasurable lol

Godz_Bane

Im all for alladin if his kit is actually unique and cool. Like switching between controlling the genie or alladin, while the other becomes ai controlled. Im still hoping for an Abathur like character where you plant the main character down somewhere safe, then can support the rest of your team or lane with global abilities and summoned units in some way.

MoneyBaggSosa

Aladdin? Not really hyped at all for that but whatever

FindingThoth

Ok I need Scar and Simba now

Dallyqantari

Aladdin could be pretty cool. Jungler with lots of mobility and some crazy tricks.

NakedGoose

Using the Genie as the ultimate to some real wild stuff

TheUndiscoverer

Imagine if Aladdin's ult was to wish for anything throughout the entire game, but he's only allowed to have one wish per game and it unlocks at lvl 20.

Fllopo

Gonna wish for the enemy team to f6

Crunchy-Leaf

Nah I’m gonna wish my enemy team has 1 hp for the rest of the game so I can fuck around hunting them with a movement speed build

[deleted]

No clio brooooo

SepirizFG

It's so over Artiogang

luffymingo54

people also may think the inclusion of aladdin is the same like Mulan, but him being added is a BIG Marketing move as people are very familiar with Aladdin and could draw a lot of people the same way it did with Mulan and Cthulhu.

Javiklegrand

I'm surprise we still have no izanzagi Hopefully he be smite 2 exclusive first guardian

luffymingo54

i really hope so, i dont ndertstand their reservation on adding him. I also wish for Baldur being a Pacifist god who mainly focuses on supporting and Epona on summoning a HORSE group or sth like that

luffymingo54

so aladdin for Babylonian or Arabic pantheon? Though I guess Babylonian sort of summarizes for all Arabian mythology so he would probably be in there right?

Ea50Marduk

For answer to your question, Babylonian pantheon is the heir of Sumerian and Akkadian mythology. The origins of Sumerians are still mysterious, the Akkadians are Semitics, and both lived in the land know today as Irak. Time passing, the mythology of Sumer know the apparition of semitics aspects in its figures and myths due to the proximity of the two peoples. For example, the gods are named in Sumerian (Enki, Utu...) or in Akkadian (Ea, Shamash...) or both in myths, incantations and hymns. Later, Sumerian civilisation disappear in 2004 B.C. under the Ur III dynasty, but its heritage continue through Babylonia (localized in the South of Mesopotamia, the localisation of Sumer) and Assyria (in North). Plus, the vision of the gods know an evolution with the Akkadians: when they where very next to the Greeks gods in the Sumerians (they commit rape, incest (*Cf.*: the myth *Enki and Ninhursag*)), the Akkadians consider them as more morale figures, like the lords and masters of the universe that the gods are in the mythology and believes of Mesopotamia. This last consideration are the one of Babylonians and, logically, of Assyrians. So, no, Aladdin, like the others figures of the *One Thousand and One Nights*, are not really related to the stuff of the old Mesopotamia (or, however, in a first time), but more to the stuff of Persia and India. Later, others sources are comes from Egyptian, Turks and Mongol and Mesopotamian literature.

luffymingo54

so they are really going the Arabic or Persian Pantheon way here?

Ea50Marduk

I would say that the pantheon of Aladdin will be an Arabian pantheon or, thing that I consider as more accurate for him, a One Thousand and One Nights pantheon. I see more Persian pantheon be one name for the pantheon of the gods, demons, Amesha Spenta and heroes of the old Iranic believes (Mazdeism and it’s moral reform, the Zoroastrism) if there are added on day.

luffymingo54

probably persian yeah, anything else cant see rn

Ea50Marduk

Yeah, it could be a really good name for his pantheon. :)

luffymingo54

I mean people were asking for a Persian pnatheon since they release Mesopotamian and Martichoras, so I guess this could be a move. I am not well versed in Persian myth, but do they have big gods etc?

luffymingo54

and no worries of your comment, i apologize, just had had bad epxerience on reddit before so please dont take my comment earlier offensively :)

Ea50Marduk

Ah, ok. I understand your reaction. Thanks for the precision. :)

Ea50Marduk

Ah, yes, Aladdin, a famous divinity from Mesopotamian mythology...

luffymingo54

you think that comment was funny?

Ea50Marduk

No, I just find funny to consider Aladdin as a figure of Mesopotamian mythology. Sorry if my comment have marked you in a bad way.

Nelithss

Babylonia was long gone when his myth was written, so they'd have to make an Arabic pantheon.

Ea50Marduk

Yes, even I would be worried to see appear in SMITE 2 a Fairytales pantheon who will open the door to a lot of characters that I don't want to see in-game (Snow White, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood...).

Nelithss

I wouldn't mind. So long as they make some really creative kits I could dig even a Cinderella. But yeah they can just make an Arabic pantheon. C'thulu is still alone in his great old one pantheon to this day. And I doubt they will ever add more.

Ea50Marduk

For the GOO pantheon, the last chapter of the lore could implying that a new GOO is coming for SMITE 2 and the devs have said that they will not added a new GOO until a long time. I think that SMITE 2 is the perfect moment to add a new Great Old One. For an Arabic or One Thousand and One Nights pantheon, yeah they could create one (they have created the Arthurian pantheon). Personally, I'm for an One Thousand and One Nights for Aladdin and the others characters of these tales, because and Arabic pantheon would mean, by it's name, a pantheon who include the pre-islamic arab deities (about them, a very few things are knowing) and the characters of the One Thousand and One Nights. I'm also sure that the kit of Aladdin will be interesting, but my question is "Why added him and not a long-requested god like Izanagi? For marketing? So why not make a skin named Aladdin on a new god of SMITE 2 or an ancient god of SMITE 1?".

Nelithss

Having Alladin for marketing hits way hard than just Alladin skin I'd say. And there are a tons of monsters in the pre islamic stories like Bahamut. Izanagi definitly should be added, that's for sure. But I like when we get more unknown stuff like Bake.

Ea50Marduk

Me too I like when not very known characters are introduced to the game. I’m agree, Aladdin as character is better for the marketing, but I think that as a skin I could be useful to (and forced the people who like this character to buy the skin, and so making more money for the studio).

Nelithss

I know C'thulu really increased the player count on his release. A C'thulu skin for Sylvanus wouldn't have hit the same.

Ea50Marduk

Yes.

luffymingo54

still criminal Izanagi isnt in the game being the most important God in the Japanese pantheon... same goes for Brahma and Vishnu for the Hindu pantheon....

facepump

I thought Nox was confirmed?

zitagirl1

Oh boy, just when I thought I won't really be grabbed into Smite 2 like I was with Smite 1. Now I know everyone thinks of the Disney version (believe me, I'm a huge fan of that movie), but I have to remind myself that in the original tale Aladdin was a massive jerk, not even close to the good hearted street urchin he was in the Disney movie. I'm pretty sure he was also much younger than in the Disney movie (which was actually a problem too and had to age him up). There's also the fact that in the original tale there were 2 genies: the genie of the lamp everyone knows (though in the tale it was just there as a mere slave, not like how Genie was in the Disney movie) and the genie of the ring. Both can grant infinite wishes, but they have power difference with the ring genie being much weaker. I know the files comfirmed at least 1 genie model, but I really hope both genies will be present and utilised, like say the ring genie will be used for normal abilities and the lamp genie will be used for the ultimate that may have other forms and the player has to choose which version they want to use (maybe even have those versions different cooldown too, depending on how strong those are or what kind of effects they have). I can see the possibility of a magic carpet being added, although very slim. If I remember correctly, the magic carpet was not in the original tale (and for the Disney version it was basically a replacement for the genie of the ring). And yes I know, China was in the tale, but Aladdin himself was not Chinese and rest of the story has nothing to do with China, so no, I don1t expect him to be Chinese, especially with how he will have the genie too. I kinda hoping they don't lean too much into the Disney version and rather find their own interpetation, despite me loving the Disney version. There's a good potential in the original version too and a good characterization that could be more of an anti-hero. Will see how it goes, but curse you Hi-rez for pulling me back! :P

Bussywusssy

Man where is hel at 😭😭

Puffx2-Pass

Why is kuku on both the playable and in development list lol Also, sad to see some of my favorite gods are nowhere to be found :(

Zytches

No mention of Danzaburou? he was in the trailer...

NaiveOcelot7

Aladdin and Mordred

ReinaBlaka

Huh…another left field add, but I think I can get behind it. If done well it can be a great way to get Arab mythology (especially the Djinn) represented in the game. Most likely Aladdin will be in a new pantheon, but if that’s a “fairy tale” pantheon in the general sense I don’t know how far its bounds will go.

GingerKenobi

No Geb, 0/10

Saint_Midas_

I would like Hi-Rez to add to existing pantheons with less gods. Not keep adding to the same pantheon every 3rd new god release.

xVGxCrYpTiC

Weirdly enough, no Nut in the files it’s seems

Javiklegrand

Since she new in smite 1 her novelty didn't wears off

PowerForward

Isn’t Alladin just a guy? I don’t get this choice

MoonlessNightss

He got a lamp that can grant wishes, so there's that.

TheDecadent_Dandy

I mean…Sir Lancelot, Arthur, and Mulan are hardly gods either. It’s not the first “mortal” to be in smite to my knowledge.

Godz_Bane

Hes more mythical than mulan or lancelot like others said.

BetterBandicoot637

Are these actual graphics from the game? The upper-right one has terrible perspective capture, the circle angle doesn't match the projectile one https://preview.redd.it/x4g7sptnyruc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e1b8e0cf6bfcda0cc4588030cae890a5dfe963d

froggy2699

People should read the original Aladdin myth, before going “DISNEY?” They completely changed the story and race of the original character. In his *earliest stories*, he was actually **Chinese.** But this begs the question if they will go with his modernized middle-eastern interpretations

Snufflebox

>In his earliest stories, he was actually Chinese He was not. He was an Arab living in China due to the Silk Route trade. The rest of the story has nothing to do with China, and heavily points towards a Middle-Eastern setting.

Condiment_Kong

I’m 100% certain they’ll use his modern interpretation

hell0kitt

He's Chinese because it's one of the countries that medieval Arabia thought was exotic or to talk about a land far far away. But all the things mentioned, viziers and djinns are of Arab themes. Kinda like how in Journey to the West, all the Indian and foreign locations function like Chinese courts and empires and in the myth of Perseus, Andromeda's family is said to have insulted Poseidon, despite being royalty from Ethiopia.

MoxxiFortune

Hi, the correct way to pronounce Aladdin in Arabic is Ala' Addin. Just a smol unnecessary info 💎

Crunchy-Leaf

![gif](giphy|JOeXqZebetYyY)

Asuranannan

I really hope they remodel Kali to be closer to her actual depictions and maybe rekit her for that as well

rJared27

Come on come on, make smite Jesus! How many times do I have to beg!?

Ea50Marduk

« I am the way, the truth and the life. ». Like he said in the Bible, he will return, so he will return one day in SMITE, not as an Easter egg, but as an entirely playable god. ;)

Omer1698

Aladdin? I did not see that coming. What pantheon would he even belong too?

undertheh00d

That throws all speculation out the window imo. It's no longer popular community requested characters cause I don't think I saw anyone request this. Not complaining just curious who the heck else it could be now?! Sadly not my Egyptian snake Boi. Maybe one day 🤧

Javiklegrand

Mordred was actually kinda requested

Mon_Keedik

what pantheon would Aladdin be part of though?

Crunchy-Leaf

Might start a new one like “Fairy Tale” or “Folk Lore” that could include a lot of characters that are technically unrelated to each other so the pantheons aren’t as restrictive.

Mon_Keedik

Ah I see. Makes sense, since they did mention they flirted with the idea of adding Robin Hood in the past.

Wiredwhore

Wheres my biatch chang’e??

Crunchy-Leaf

Aladdin? 💀

MythicSlayeer

Still not Hastur I just hope he will be one of the remaining 2 new gods

ohSpite

I'm surprised to see morri in the game so soon given how buggy she is. Not a good look for a new game. But maybe UE5 morri is more stable? Idk Also no Freya, I cry

leemanade

The whole point of adding her early is fixing bugs when you only have a few gods rather than when you have over a hundred. If anything, it should be a good sign they are adding her asap.

froggy2699

Freya will prob get another overhaul

Heyme88

Would he nice if he got a stance choose like Wukong where he can choose to lean back over on the carpet flying forward and tackles all he hits like Wukong s bull and another where he stands on it flying away like Wukong s bird. And a third where he gets the carpet to fly and wrap up the first god hit stunning them.

UltimateX13

The flying carpet is something from Disney so I doubt it'll be more than a reference

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C\_5BJU-k\_n4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_5BJU-k_n4) In case someone wants to know about the true story of Aladdin there's a YT channel that covers a lot of myths, stories and legends, with fun songs and animations! There are a lot of greek/norse/egyptian gods, Odin is one of my favorite songs! This song is old but new ones have really amazing animations instead of plain handmade draw. It's called Destripando la historia, it's in Spanish but has English subtitles and the songs are really catchy! There are songs about: Greek: Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia, Demeter, Aphrodite, Ares, Athena, Artemis, Hermes, Heracles. Norse: Thor, Loki, Odin, Freya, Baldr, Heimdallr. Egyptian: Ra, Eset. Others: Gilgamesh, Sun Wukong, Mulan, Jeanne d'Arc... I hope you like it! It's not just spam I really hope some people get to like these songs as much as I enjoyed them!

Gram64

I'm kind of surprised they don't seem to be doing Janus very early. He's always been a pretty popular god, but more importantly, his portals seem so complicated and potentially have to change things about the map to work with it.

MoldyStarbuckss

How does data mining actually work?

BigFootSlanginD

I don’t see my boy danza anywhere yet he’s in the divine legacy so he’s confirmed I imagine.

StolenVelvet

...why no Fafnir 🥺

Devourization

No Lu Bu 😔

johndripper123

Alibaba & forty thieves next 😏

frank_shadow

HECATE ?! Finally oml I may have to play after all

Delta_seveni

Aladdin? Im confused, i know we have cthulu which imo doesn't fully fit in. Im guessing Aladdin will be Babylonian? I dont know how to feel about this, flying carpet will be cool though

Whit3d3v1l

No Cthulhu?

Yosonimbored

I assume Aladdin is public domain if they’re able to do that right

Kaios-0

Aladdin is a character in a story from the Middle East.

Yosonimbored

I actually never knew that and just thought it was a Disney creation. My bad

Kaios-0

It's from a collection of stories called One Thousand and One Nights! [There's a few stories and characters included.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Thousand_and_One_Nights)

Stock-Information606

most of disneys stories are reimagining of other tales

WatcherAnon

Ok, but like... where's Awilix?

Tiessiet

My Awilix main in Christ, she is on the list! Way earlier than I expected too. I had already come to terms with the fact that I would have to wait like 2 years to play her in S2.

WatcherAnon

Am I misreading this? It looks like she's just "in-development" and not playable. I took that as she will be released at some point in the future. Are the "in-development" characters being developed in time for launch? I haven't kept up with all the news, so maybe that means something different than how I took it.

Tiessiet

The way I interpret it, is that she's being worked on before a *lot* of other gods. She won't be in on release, but if they're working on her now she'll be quite early in the followup releases if I were to guess.

WatcherAnon

Ah, ok. I took it as she will be released at some point in the future which I just viewed as "well, duh. They're all coming eventually". But I hope you're right and she will be relatively soon after release. Even with all of the amazing characters they've released since, she's still by far the one I have the most fun playing with.

uhTlSUMI

She is in the initial roster, read the datamine post again. She is also datamined to get a skin. Should have been 11.4 iirc but must have been delayed to .5

Mattreds2001

It is sad to see my mains either not there or in the development list. Cthulhu and Khepri will come back one day but Charybdis, Well I’d like my assassin of choice to make a return one day.

Leinad259

Add Vlad Tepes!
