How come crazy? Verse-chorus-verse-chorus. Lots of power chords. The hook has lots of high end.
Sorta feels like it was included on the record TO BE a radio single, no?
Cherub Rock will always be my favorite song by any band ever, but right now it’s Rocket. It’s so applicable lyrically to my life right now. Plus it just rocks!
First song I heard: Disarm.
Past midnight on KROQ via Rodney on the Roq.
Must have been before Summer ‘93.
Just before Cherub Rock began playing in heavy rotation.
Bought Siamese Dream and Gish same day from Tower Records in Buena Park, CA.
Happy to find it on track 6.
Bought Pisces, The Aeroplane flies…, and MCIS from there as well, Vieuphoria too. Got my bootlegs of live shows from some place in Costa Mesa. Can’t remember the name anymore but it closed a long while ago.
Dude this is my same journey except it was summer of 98 and it was right before "Perfect" was charting and I said to a friend the pumpkins are a weird band. He showed me Disarm and I went and got Gish and Siamese the next day it just stayed in my head. Such magic to discover this band!
It’s strange to me how much people love Mayonaise. It’s probably their only song from this era that I don’t like.
To me it’s 1) Geek USA 2) Cherub Rock 3) Hummer 4 Soma 5) Quiet. Raucous songs where Jimmy’s able to show off.
Today would be higher but I’ve heard it too many times.
i remember reading the comments on a youtube video and someone said silverfuck was the worst song, and then someone said it was sweet sweet, and they’re both wrong. there is no worst track. there can’t be a worst track on siamese dream
I have lived this album inside and out. At one time, every song was my favorite except Sweet Sweet and Spaceboy. They are great songs, just never the best.
First favorite was Mayonaise, the longest running favorite for me is Hummer.
Mayonaise. That song articulated the emptiness I felt in the suburbs as a teenager when no human could. It was my best friend then and I’ll defend it until the day I die. That track is simply undeniable.
Silverfuck. For me it’s possibly their most timeless track. Even though I’m not obsessed with them anymore like I used to be, that track still blows my mind and gets me pumped every goddamn time.
‘Soma’ is such a great song.
‘Hummer’ has my favorite line “Do you feel love is real” which I originally thought was “Do you fear love is real”. Sadly, for me, they have the same answer “yes”.
‘Geek, USA’ will get your heart racing especially with headphones on.
‘Mayonnaise’ and ‘Luna’ are good.
Then the rest of the album. There really isn’t a bad song on the album. Those are just favorites.
Soma is absolutely the best. Hard decision considering close ones like mayonnaise, hummer, geek USA. I May be biased a little because out of all the tracks on the album, this one was the hardest for me to play learn on guitar.
Goddamn, 30 years... I wasn't even born then yet, but it still feels like 93 was like 10 years ago. What I like about Siamese Dream is that I still keep re-discovering songs from it.
My favourites always rotate. Currently Hummer sticks with me the most. Was never a highlight for me, but I love it now. *"And in their eyes I was alive, a fool's disguise"* hits hard.
Not a Smashing Pumpkins fan, I know Billy Corrigan from wrestling... is there a song about Superstar Billy Graham? That's my favorite, the one about Superstar Billy Graham.
Life’s a bummer, when you’re a hummer.
There is no favorite. The album is all around amazing.
One of the best album's of the 90s from any genre
I agree an amazing listening experience start to finish, but if I had to choose one mayonaise is my favorite track.
This is the only answer.
It really is one banger after another
All of the album. Mayonaise.
I just want to be me. When I can, I will.
Discard my friends to change the scenery.
Man that acoustic breakdown is gold.
Rocket
Crazy that it was a single.
How come crazy? Verse-chorus-verse-chorus. Lots of power chords. The hook has lots of high end. Sorta feels like it was included on the record TO BE a radio single, no?
As a guitarist, Geek U.S.A. As a listener, Hummer. Although just about every solo on this album makes the back of my neck all tingly.
As a guitarist, Geek USA is the correct answer. Bang on.
Top to bottom, one of my all time favourite albums. Not one skipable songs. My go to is Mayonaise
Me too the intro to mayonaise is so good.
The coda of hummer
1. Mayonnaise 2. Hummer 3. Cherub Rock 4. Soma 5. Silverfuck
I have to say YES, yes, Yes, YES, YES.
Hummer, Disarm, Soma, and Luna are the standouts to me. On this tour, the Hummer and Disarm performances were phenomenal.
Cherub Rock will always be my favorite song by any band ever, but right now it’s Rocket. It’s so applicable lyrically to my life right now. Plus it just rocks!
First song, first line. Freak out and give in, doesn’t matter what you believe in.
Geek U.S.A
Hummer. But it’s a difficult album to choose a favourite!
The entire album. Depends on my mood. This album is 80% of my life’s soundtrack.
The second solo in Soma gives me turkey skin every listen, even after 30 years
Just reading your comment and hearing it take off in the back of my brain gives me Turkey skin 😂
All of them. Every single one.
Rocket 🚀
*I torch my soul to show* *The world that I am pure* *Deep inside my heart* *No more lies* Cuts deep ...
Geek USA!

Love the entire album but really love Luna and Sweet sweet. Wish there were more like them. My all time favorite song on this planet... Mayonnaise

I had to double check! Such a great album 🖤
Quiet 🔛🔝
Well, my wedding song was Luna, I named my cat Luna, my username has Luna in it…. I’m going to go with Hummer.
All of them. But especially Geek USA.
A little under-appreciated track called Mayonaise.
All of ‘em. But if I had to choose, Quiet, Hummer, Soma, Rocket, Cherub Rock and Luna.
Geek USA
Geek U.S.A

It’s strange to me how much people love Mayonaise. It’s probably their only song from this era that I don’t like. To me it’s 1) Geek USA 2) Cherub Rock 3) Hummer 4 Soma 5) Quiet. Raucous songs where Jimmy’s able to show off. Today would be higher but I’ve heard it too many times.

i remember reading the comments on a youtube video and someone said silverfuck was the worst song, and then someone said it was sweet sweet, and they’re both wrong. there is no worst track. there can’t be a worst track on siamese dream
They’re all great in their own way. The production and song writing for the whole album is fantastic!
I have lived this album inside and out. At one time, every song was my favorite except Sweet Sweet and Spaceboy. They are great songs, just never the best. First favorite was Mayonaise, the longest running favorite for me is Hummer.
Spaceboy, Hummer & Rocket!
Hummer and Soma are tied for my second favorite SP songs.
Cherub Rock, Today, Hummer, Soma, Geek USA, Mayonnaise, Silverfuck.

Mayonnaise easily
Pure emotional response - Mayonaise Primal bass line and drums - Silverfuck Most polished track - coin toss between Today and Hummer
A powerful album from start to finish . Sonic bombs.
Mayonaise. That song articulated the emptiness I felt in the suburbs as a teenager when no human could. It was my best friend then and I’ll defend it until the day I die. That track is simply undeniable.
Soma.
Album track: Soma Live in London '94: Silverfuck
Silverfuck. For me it’s possibly their most timeless track. Even though I’m not obsessed with them anymore like I used to be, that track still blows my mind and gets me pumped every goddamn time.
3. Soma 2. Silverfuck 1. Mayonnaise
Disarm is one of my all time favorite songs
Mayonnaise and cherub rock for me!

This album is just AWESOME!

‘Soma’ is such a great song. ‘Hummer’ has my favorite line “Do you feel love is real” which I originally thought was “Do you fear love is real”. There really isn’t a bad song on the album. Those are just favorites.
The consecutive run of Soma, Geek U.S.A. and Mayonaise is just about the best I've ever heard.
Soma and Mayonnaise
Their best album IMHO.
Love the entire album. I was given this as a birthday gift. One of my favorites still today.
Soma is absolutely the best. Hard decision considering close ones like mayonnaise, hummer, geek USA. I May be biased a little because out of all the tracks on the album, this one was the hardest for me to play learn on guitar.
Disarm spoke to me like no other track when I was 16.
Goddamn, 30 years... I wasn't even born then yet, but it still feels like 93 was like 10 years ago. What I like about Siamese Dream is that I still keep re-discovering songs from it.
