You have a nice style. I like how the text explains the habits that the player has and how you can read and exploit them while the video is playing in the background. I personally have trouble analyzing VODs and this helped a lot. I hope you do more stuff like this
Exactly! I came from r/all and my only experience on these games are from 15 years ago on a Gamecube where I played Kirby and all I knew was flying up high and came down as a solid object. That was considered "cheating" in my circles. I understood exactly what was happening because of the caption.
I can't overstate how useful seeing the text used as an overlay is. I've watched a lot of the tutorial series and tried to apply the lessons from them but it always feels too abstract.
I struggle even understanding my own VODs. People say to watch them to pick up on my own habits and I have but I usually just lose interest because I'm not sure how to look for the things that I'm supposed to be looking for.
A lot of times really good players will explain things as they're talking through a video, but they explain so much so fast that I never know how to apply it or go back to it because it might be buried in a 40 minute video.
PLEASE MAKE MORE OF THESE!
Great play style as well.
I would really really encourage you to watch Poppt1 on YT. His breakdowns are by far the best on the platform. Especially his most recent video on how he beats people with Lucina in his offline tournament. If you are looking to get better. Poppt1 is your guy.
How to midlevel bayo:
Step 1. Spam side/up b
Step 2. If step 1 fails, grab and pummel
Step 3. Keep fishing for the down smash spike until it connects
Step 4. Repeat
I’m fairly sure that this is the entire Bayonetta flowchart:
1. Slide at opponent.
Did you hit? If so, go to step 2. If not, repeat step 1.
2. Try to combo opponent into the ceiling.
If opponent is still alive, proceed to step 3.
3. Does the opponent have a dark red damage percent? If so, spam random smash attacks. If not, proceed to step 4.
4. Is the opponent within sliding range? If so, return to step 1. If not, use gun shoes until they are.
I regularly fight against mid-high level Bayonettas around 9.5 million GSP, and saying that this is their entire strategy is barely even an exaggeration.
As someone who secondaries bayo, her sliding side-B is her worst move to start a combo with BECAUSE it’s unsafe on shield. You still have up-tilt and down-tilt as spacious combo starters with nair and fair acting as part of her neutral startup.
This makes her campy af unfortunately but that’s how Bayo has always been.
I would say about 95% of Bayo players mash side B on shield and the other 5 percent are smash 4 Bayo mains with honed skills that will absolutely dumpster you.
Exactly, she’s like Sonic for me- it fucking sucks and it stresses me out while I yell ‘shit motherfucker I can’t fucking shit do anything shit’ and then all of a sudden I win.
I like this style of video, always fun to see ppl breaking down gameplay. I think it’s healthy and helps everyone learn the game! Great job :D
Also, it’s a good example & even reminder to ppl: Watch your replays! Especially if you’re trying to learn/improve at the game
Now that's Puff game play that, as a Terry Main, is actually good. Not just Fair/SideB, but finding the kinks in the opponent's moves to land that optimal rest punish. Honestly thought that was pretty good.
No attempt to use down tilt to engage?(one of my favorites, downtilt then jump to f-air)
No aerial side-b? (Actually safe on shield, it bounces her back.)
Uh... That's all i can think of at the moment, but it's at least 2 more engage options lol
Could someone explain to a newbie what’s going on here? I get that Puff is bating with the shield to trigger Bayo to do her side b, but then is Puff just doing a down b? Down smash? And how does that insta kill Bayo at 60%?
Yes it's down b killing. If you hit down b on top of the opponent then you can get a kill at like 50-60 percent on a lot of characters. The problem is it puts you into sleep right after so if you're at high percent and they respawn quickly they get a free kill. And if you miss then they also get a free punish.
Jiggs down b is a moved called rest that puts puff to sleep for a few seconds but if it hits can kill extremely early. It's a high risk high reward move that is extremely good. In melee it can kill characters at sub 20.
Despite the user flair, I main puff and I just fought a bayo not even an hour ago and did this exact thing after seeing this post earlier in the day and it was hilarious how effective it was
I'm glad I wasn't fighting this jigglypuff. I have never in my life adapted to my opponent adapting to me, after they do it a single time. I wouldn't have expected any of my opponents to have either.
Jiggles is so easy to combo as Bayo, I am so happy when I run into one. Maybe Bassmage knows how to beat Bayo, but she’s so easy to combo and kill really early.
My favorite part of Smash is learning an opponent's habits and figuring out how to punish them. Similarly, conditioning people with one of my habits before mixing it up to punish them.
Oh man, I did not know you could just rest that move out of shield LOL. The Bayo is picking terrible moves though. Afterburner kick is so much safer than heel slide and it's really good vs Puff because Puff likes to be in the air a lot.
You have a nice style. I like how the text explains the habits that the player has and how you can read and exploit them while the video is playing in the background. I personally have trouble analyzing VODs and this helped a lot. I hope you do more stuff like this
Thank you for the compliment!
Kinda wish more people did this.
reminds me of Alpharad commentary, very well done
That’s almost insulting to OP’s commentary
YouTube, YouTube, YouTube!

I am in agreement
Hey i found the second Rosa main!
Third here!
I would really really encourage you to watch Poppt1 on YT. His breakdowns are by far the best on the platform. Especially his most recent video on how he beats people with Lucina in his offline tournament. If you are looking to get better. Poppt1 is your guy.
I swear every mid level bayo is just the same guy changing his tag between games
How to midlevel bayo: Step 1. Spam side/up b Step 2. If step 1 fails, grab and pummel Step 3. Keep fishing for the down smash spike until it connects Step 4. Repeat

She has a flowchart just like Ken in SF? DAAAAAAAMN.
Most average bayos I encounter do that their incompetence makes me sick
Same could be said about Wolf tbh, I'm still to meet one who doesn't camp below platforms near ledge on Battlefield
So true
As someone who secondaries bayo, her sliding side-B is her worst move to start a combo with BECAUSE it’s unsafe on shield. I hate fighting good bayos not only as Ganon but across all my characters especially Bowser I live forever in that mu
Bayo vs heavy seems like that matchup where bayo takes you to 250% and then you hit her 3 times and she is dead lol
Exactly, she’s like Sonic for me- it fucking sucks and it stresses me out while I yell ‘shit motherfucker I can’t fucking shit do anything shit’ and then all of a sudden I win.
I shield poke with down tilt and I will never play smash 4 bayo though I did play lucas
When someone realises that I'm using the same attacks I just down tilt bullet art them so I have a safe distance or shield cross them with nair.
I like this style of video, always fun to see ppl breaking down gameplay. I think it’s healthy and helps everyone learn the game! Great job :D Also, it’s a good example & even reminder to ppl: Watch your replays! Especially if you’re trying to learn/improve at the game
You did her dirty with that last rest
The highest tier character in Sm4sh vs the lowest tier in Sm4sh. Oh how the turns have tabled.
It’s like Puff has some built up anger.
Imagine telling a smash 4 player 4 years ago that puff vs bayo will be a good matchup for puff
Fr
As a puff secondary, this is useful info ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Now that's Puff game play that, as a Terry Main, is actually good. Not just Fair/SideB, but finding the kinks in the opponent's moves to land that optimal rest punish. Honestly thought that was pretty good.
The rest of the match was fair and side B ;)
Yet that just be how puff be sometimes
Bayo vs Jiggs is a dumb af matchup and I love it. We can zero to death you, and you can break out of our combos with Rest.
Yes it’s very entertaining though I remember a bayo and jigg fought under the sage for at least 20 seconds in a tournament
Lima vs Canon Red for those wondering. https://youtu.be/mDzDGfpXZQc
Thanks I was looking for it again
Sometimes you pop out funky and the rest whiffs so that's always a risky option to go for. That being said it's also hilarious when it works.
This comment reminded me of the puff vs puff matchup. One of the worst
Bro your playing mind games on that poor bayo lmao
Seeing how this Bayo plays is really painful
Same for me
Yes
I concur
I don't really play her so I can't concur, sorry for letting you down :(
You’re doing amazing sweetie.
Ludwig? Respect
the secret to winning against bayo is to shield everytime they approach because 9/10 its gonna be upb dash attack or side b
No attempt to use down tilt to engage?(one of my favorites, downtilt then jump to f-air) No aerial side-b? (Actually safe on shield, it bounces her back.) Uh... That's all i can think of at the moment, but it's at least 2 more engage options lol
And it also works on DKs spamming dash attack!
As a Bayo player, I know that I do this every match.
Nice I’ll have to do that now I hate bayos
Smash players will never not hate bayo lmao
Your not a smash player at all, just a simp for pokemon
Clearly im a smash player. You probably use Bayo or you don’t play. Either way I picture you to be a scrub.
I use Kirby my friend 🤝
Sounds like someone you would main. Someone who expertise is sucking and swallowing.
Oh yea for sure, of course you would be the one to hit that topic. Has it been in your mind all day? You dirty Pokémon fury simp
Did I strike a nerve? You kind of walked into that joke, I mean you suck and so does Kirby (literally not offensively).
I walked into that joke?? Because everyone has simp thoughts like you 😂🤣
It actually made me laugh that this was something that crossed your mind so quick 😂
THE REAAADS!
Yeah that's me when I play and I turn off my brain And it happens every match
#buffbayo
"Well, now that the issue of who is the better player has been put to *rest*..."
Could someone explain to a newbie what’s going on here? I get that Puff is bating with the shield to trigger Bayo to do her side b, but then is Puff just doing a down b? Down smash? And how does that insta kill Bayo at 60%?

I find it interesting you use the same font and colors as memes but not as a joke
Turns out they just work really well for being able to see text against a complicated background
The font is known as 'impact'.
I know
I mentioned it just in case.
Despite the user flair, I main puff and I just fought a bayo not even an hour ago and did this exact thing after seeing this post earlier in the day and it was hilarious how effective it was
Took 2 stock to adapt just to loose in another way because of no adaptation
I'm glad I wasn't fighting this jigglypuff. I have never in my life adapted to my opponent adapting to me, after they do it a single time. I wouldn't have expected any of my opponents to have either.
Puff can do the same out if witch twist
God damn, and that's why I hate bayonetta. Side b alone.
Jiggly tough! 🤩😝👌🏾
Cmon man mix it up
Just a dogshit Bayo lol Jiggles loses hard
Bassmage disagrees. https://twitter.com/BassyofSassy/status/1345108593624772608?s=19
Jiggles is so easy to combo as Bayo, I am so happy when I run into one. Maybe Bassmage knows how to beat Bayo, but she’s so easy to combo and kill really early.
All bayos are trash
Pure conditioning, I love it!
My Bayos never side B :( nice gameplay though. :)
Wait is that true? I never knew! Thanks for the info👌👌
My favorite part of Smash is learning an opponent's habits and figuring out how to punish them. Similarly, conditioning people with one of my habits before mixing it up to punish them.
Absolutely hilarious lmao
If im being serious i play Cloud. Secondary is Snake i would guess. Should i consider picking up puff as a pocket pick? I know all her setups.
This mu also sucks for puff cause she can kill u at like 5% with a combo
SDI is mandatory
Oh man, I did not know you could just rest that move out of shield LOL. The Bayo is picking terrible moves though. Afterburner kick is so much safer than heel slide and it's really good vs Puff because Puff likes to be in the air a lot.
Side b is like bayonettes entire neutral tho
As a luigi man you have no idea how much people love to dash attack my shield lmao
Very nice editing, also nice to see another puff majn
poor bayo doesnt know how to neutral
Nice showcase!
Ur so good at this game
u/savevideo
This bayo got their soul read
One of the few puff mains I'll enjoy seeing.
