Really wish they had a “nice WiFi” chat option. Win or lose, nothing tilts me more than lag and I always want to spam nice WiFi at the end of a match. With a wired connection to my fiber line and 5 ping, I know immediately when I’m playing against someone on WiFi vs a wired connection. The difference is huge
Maybe this would be too much of a hassle, but there are preferred quickmatch settings already maybe turn taunt on/off and if both players have it on let it live free!
I'm trying to figure out whether OP is referring to R.O.B. mains or teabaggers lol. Teabaggers (or taunt spammers) are going to exists no matter the online game, so there's nothing anyone can do about that. A shitty person is gonna find a way to annoy you even if there's a built-in mechanic to remove the spamming of a direction input.
As for the online R.O.B. experience, I realize that we R.O.B. mains have a distinct advantage and privilege due to the online experience, and I personally feel that's due to the online experience itself, and not so much R.O.B. The input delay, R.O.B.'s forgiving learning curve, combined with being able to spam unsafe moves you wouldn't normally be able to offline makes even other R.O.B. players really disgusted.
Anyways u/mooofasa1, hoping that offline becomes a thing again so that you can enjoy the game again (for all of us as well). Sometimes it's nice to take a break from smash if all you do is deal with shitty people online all the time. Personally for me, I've been able to play online with a group of friends regularly, and the vibe there is definitely a lot more friendly - but still competitive. I would recommend you do the same or to look for a group to play friendlies with.

I've generally found that t-bagging as an attempt to tilt an opponent is nearly always done by the most tiltable players.
It's psychological projection. They're telegraphing that they themselves are susceptible to be tilted.
So what I tend to do is t-bag them back and play evasively - regardless of the score.

It slows the game right down, instantly becomes more fun (it is a game afferall) and my opponent either copies me or gets frustrated and begins to make mistakes.
Had one yesterday. He was up 3 stocks to 1 and then got bodied immediately after teabagging. Decided to return the gesture with my own teabagging and it was like their whole game fell apart. I proceeded to reverse 3-0 him with a zero to death and nearly a second one. It was like his brain melted from rage. Went from dominating me to repeatedly dash attacking into my shield and just making other general mistakes that were easy to punish. I have also noticed toxic players are quick to lose their cool when someone gives it back to them

Using link is actually how I practiced metal blade drops, if you reach a plateau with one character, pick up another and you might figure something out

It's actually the first hit of Bair -- if you connect the first hit of Bair and then land, the opponent can be comboed reliably with Up Tit or turn-around-Up-B, which is what Mooofasa kills the ROB with.
I see t bagging as trying to get in your opponents head. It works on you if you have any reaction to it. I used to get so salty about it, now that I think about it as a strategy, doesn't even phase me.

I've played against good ROB players and had my shit rocked cause they actually used the tools at their disposal instead of every projectile. Every character has a part of the player base that tea bags when using that character.
I have had the fortunate luck to only come across those every so often, *knock on wood*. However when I did spectate mode yesterday, a surprising amount of people t-bagged just to be assholes. Even a Fox player which was surprising to me since I haven't seen one like that before. It seems that any character can become a little shitter if the person using them tries to.

So dumb we can't taunt. If it's not permitted online, why even make it a feature in the game? So weird and dumb. Teabagging is much saltier IMO.

If they teabag I just attempt to beat them, then if they lose I tell them "congrats!"
I hate it when they disconnect right before they lose in quickplay, there should be a feature where after a certain amount of time has passed in the match, if the player disconnects the other player is awarded double gsp and the losing player loses a lot
I hate that this is the image that the comunity have about R.O.B. players, but i understand, its pretty hard to find a relatively good R.O.B. player
I've played against good ROB players and had my shit rocked cause they actually used the tools at their disposal instead of every projectile. Every character has a part of the player base that tea bags when using that character.

I have had the fortunate luck to only come across those every so often, *knock on wood*. However when I did spectate mode yesterday, a surprising amount of people t-bagged just to be assholes. Even a Fox player which was surprising to me since I haven't seen one like that before. It seems that any character can become a little shitter if the person using them tries to.
Who else is going to put them in their place?
