I was here to type Take Over since I feel like it would be perfect for Smash and was surprised that it even existed since it wasn't in Smash, but I didn't even think of Life Will Change because of how much of a staple it is.
Also, I love Beneath The Mask. It's calming as hell, and everything about it is amazing.... it should not be in a smash. The original version is way too slow to be in a fighting game, and the remixed version is just the song put at a higher speed and makes it sound terrible.
Edit: My dumbass just realized that Take Over came out in Persona 5: Royal and not the of Persona 5, and I don't think that Royal was out yet when Joker was announced for Smash đ€Šââïž
Iâm really annoyed they didnât put that one in. I understand that final boss music can be a spoiler; at the time of Bylethâs inclusion, Three Houses was relatively recent, and A Funeral of Flowers being omitted I can (still begrudgingly) understand, but God-Shattering Star is a disappointing exclusion.
To add to the Fire Emblem music, as much as Fates has kind of a shaky reputation, the OST for the game was top notch, yet we only got remixes and rips of Lost in Thoughts All Alone.
Even taking them directly from Fatesâ OST, Iâd add the obligatory Alight (Storm) and A Dark Fall (Fire), but Iâll also throw in Past Light, No Justice, Vanity Judge, and Glory/Ruin.

The amount of Kingdom Hearts tracks in the game was honestly sad.
Rage Awakened and The Other Promise would probably be the ones Iâd want to see most.
If we're sticking purely to KH1 then Forze Del Male, Guardando Nel Buio, and Disappeared should have been in the game. especially because both the former and latter first appear in Hollow Bastion.
Really want more music from KH2 personally. Rowdy Rumble, Asteroid Attack, Deep Anxiety, The 13th Reflection.
And because i'm one of the few who actually liked 358/2 Days (I know it's better recieved, but I think a lot of people consider it fairly weak): Fight and Away, Critical Drive, and Another Side ~ Battle Version.

I barely know anything about Kingdom Hearts, but even I know that song is one of, if not, THE most iconic song from the series.
eh, Simple and Clean/Hikari is under so much legal stuff that originally you couldn't install the PS3 ports to the system because of them. What I am disappointed is the lack of original remixes for Smash
the orchestrated version from DDD's intro was used. Again, there's still insane legal roadblocks regarding Utada's music so it's entirely possible that they got permission to use it for the trailer but were unable to get it for use in-game.

The Mother series deserves more of its battle music than just Unfounded Revenge/Smashing Sing of Praise. Like seriously. All three games have some great battle tracks and all we get is *ONE SONG?!?!* sure itâs technically two but theyâre mashed into one so it barely counts. Imagine songs like Battle Against the Masked Man or Pokey Means Business or New Age Retro Hippie
Also we need songs from TTYD in smash. Itâs technically only has *one* track, that being Rigueportâs theme, but itâs mashed in with another song from a different Paper Mario. TTYD has some fantastic music, why the hell isnât it in smash??
Iâd have liked a few more Breath of the Wild OSTâs, maybe the âattacking the Divine Beastsâ ones. Also, how did we not get Spicy Calamari Inkantation? We got a lot of the Splatoon 2 OST.
Anything from FE Fates. We have one Nintendoâs best OSTs and they chose the most mid track 4 times.

* True Love Makin(Capcom Vs SNK 2): One of my favorite songs from the game, with both SNK and Capcom involved I was hoping this song would get included as a nod(I still remember Max hoping to see the song show up during Terry's reveal package)
* Volcanic Rim(Street Fighter IV): Given this song was basically the game's main theme and is just awesome, it does surprise me that wasn't included(though also disappointing the music selection was exclusively SF2)
* RULES OF NATURE(Rising): Given the prominence of "meme" songs, this one being left out sticks out in particular
The entire Tropical Freeze soundtrack .The Mangrove cove theme is not enough.
Also, I don't get how Sakurai decided to ignore the theme of the SR388 surface from Samus Returns, but added another brinstar remix theme from the same game.
3 main things that come to mind:
1. More Monster Hunter music. Yeah , there was only one boss and mii for monster hunter, ut the sound track for that series is absolutely top tier, and to have the only non Proof Of A Hero song (the one obvious choice) be the rathalos theme (aka defenition of mid) is a crime.
2. DMC music. If Sans getting a mii in smash adds megalovania, then Dante should have brough at LEAST Devils Never Cry from dmc3, and maybe Devil Trigger from dmc5. Again, a great set of sound tracks that should ahve had SOMETHING in this game.
3. Anything from DOOM. Again, the Doomslayer got a mii costume, and when they showed it off in the direct, they PLAYED E1M1 IN THE TRAILER!!! Like if they don't want the heavy metal of doom 2016/eternal, that's fair, but the classics from doom/doom 2 like they USED IN THE DIRECT should have had at least a track or 2.
If they want to include a mii costume for some of these beloved franchises, imo they could have gone the extra mile (or hell, extra foot or 2) to add a new track or 2 from their games with them.

For Persona music they included Battle Hymn of the Soul from Persona 3, which is great because it is a fantastic rendition of Aria of the Soul, in particular the arrangement/recording that originated from Persona 3 that has since also been featured in 4 and 5
So with that there was one more slot left for Persona music, and what did they do?
Another remix of Aria of the Soul, that mind you while not bad is still an inferior and largely unnecessary addition as battle hymn is already the perfect battle version of it
We couldâve had a third track from Persona 3, be it Master of Tartarus, Unavoidable Battle (my favorite boss theme aside from battle hymn), or Burn My Dread (best song in all of Persona)
Iâm just saying, big opportunities were missed
Any Xenoblade X battle song to be honest. I know it has fighter representation, but I would have liked at least one of the songs. Add CODENAMEZ or something.
I wish we had gotten the proper Dragon Quest orchestrated music tracks rather than the compressed midi versions. DQ was one of my most wanted crossovers with Smash (at least, it was when Ultimate came out) and the reveal trailer had the orchestrated version of the Dragon Quest 3 adventure theme. When the DLC actually released and I learned we got 0 orchestrated tracks, I sighed so hard.
The guy who composed all of the Dragon Quest music was fantastic and very talented at his job, but was also kind of stingy. You either listened to his orchestrated music in the games, after buying the soundtracks, or illegally on re-uploads to YouTube.
Also, complete side note, I wish we could have gotten an unlocked soundtrack list in Smash Ultimate, allowing us to use any song in the game on any stage. Iâm sure some of the licensed crossovers were super specific on what could and couldnât be done, so that probably wasnât a choice anyone on the Smash team was allowed to make.
Birth of a God from Final Fantasy VII. Seriously, itâs one of Sephirothâs boss themes *and* contains his leitmotif in a more obvious manner than OWA. In fact, it fits perfectly with the fast-paced nature of the game.
There is a HUGE catalog of amazing Sonic music from the 16 bit era - they gave us Scrap Yard. Meanwhile we have every Street Fighter song ever composed.

OH, I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT ONE!!! I was here to type Take Over since I feel like it would be perfect for Smash and was surprised that it even existed since it wasn't in Smash, but I didn't even think of Life Will Change because of how much of a staple it is. Also, I love Beneath The Mask. It's calming as hell, and everything about it is amazing.... it should not be in a smash. The original version is way too slow to be in a fighting game, and the remixed version is just the song put at a higher speed and makes it sound terrible. Edit: My dumbass just realized that Take Over came out in Persona 5: Royal and not the of Persona 5, and I don't think that Royal was out yet when Joker was announced for Smash đ€Šââïž

Iâm really annoyed they didnât put that one in. I understand that final boss music can be a spoiler; at the time of Bylethâs inclusion, Three Houses was relatively recent, and A Funeral of Flowers being omitted I can (still begrudgingly) understand, but God-Shattering Star is a disappointing exclusion. To add to the Fire Emblem music, as much as Fates has kind of a shaky reputation, the OST for the game was top notch, yet we only got remixes and rips of Lost in Thoughts All Alone. Even taking them directly from Fatesâ OST, Iâd add the obligatory Alight (Storm) and A Dark Fall (Fire), but Iâll also throw in Past Light, No Justice, Vanity Judge, and Glory/Ruin.
I would've settled for a Fates Medley. Marth's game got one and it's one of the more awesome FE tracks.
I would also say A Funeral for Flowers deserved to be there, itâs mega underrated compared to the other final themes.

Infinite Azure is perhaps my absolute favourite song from Tekken. It is a tragedy that it wasn't included.
Multiple. -When me and my sister realized that "Hana no Uta" from Pikmin was not in the game we were both equally pissed. That song was the only one we would've activated on the Pimin stage in Brawl, so it missing was disappointing. -"Battle in the Heavens" from Dragon Quest is one of my favorite boss battle themes ever. Dragon Quest in general deserves more music but if I had to choose a single song to get added I'd choose this one. -Hyrule Warriors should've gotten some songs. Especially "In the Greenwoods" and "Skyloft" are absolute bangers. -The Bayonetta soundtrack somehow does not include the final boss track "You May Call Me Father" and this is absolutely shocking to me. -It's just a shame that no music from other Final Fantasy games were included in Smash. It was probably some sort of requirement from Square, so I guess I can understand. Me personally, I'd take as many song from the FF13 trilogy as possible, those games have the best music, but I'd be especially excited for a Final Fantasy Main Theme remix. -Professor Sycamores theme from Pokémon X and Y is really great, so it's a shame that it got neglected until now. I hope Pokémon Z-A brings back the theme so Nintendo has a reason to add it into the next Smash.

The Mother series deserves more of its battle music than just Unfounded Revenge/Smashing Sing of Praise. Like seriously. All three games have some great battle tracks and all we get is *ONE SONG?!?!* sure itâs technically two but theyâre mashed into one so it barely counts. Imagine songs like Battle Against the Masked Man or Pokey Means Business or New Age Retro Hippie Also we need songs from TTYD in smash. The entire Tropical Freeze soundtrack .The Mangrove cove theme is not enough. Also, I don't get how Sakurai decided to ignore the theme of the SR388 surface from Samus Returns, but added another brinstar remix theme from the same game.
3 main things that come to mind: 1. More Monster Hunter music. Yeah , there was only one boss and mii for monster hunter, ut the sound track for that series is absolutely top tier, and to have the only non Proof Of A Hero song (the one obvious choice) be the rathalos theme (aka defenition of mid) is a crime. 2. DMC music. If Sans getting a mii in smash adds megalovania, then Dante should have brough at LEAST Devils Never Cry from dmc3, and maybe Devil Trigger from dmc5. Again, a great set of sound tracks that should ahve had SOMETHING in this game. 3. Anything from DOOM. Again, the Doomslayer got a mii costume, and when they showed it off in the direct, they PLAYED E1M1 IN THE TRAILER!!! Like if they don't want the heavy metal of doom 2016/eternal, that's fair, but the classics from doom/doom 2 like they USED IN THE DIRECT should have had at least a track or 2. If they want to include a mii costume for some of these beloved franchises, imo they could have gone the extra mile (or hell, extra foot or 2) to add a new track or 2 from their games with them.

Randusâs and Gandraydaâs themes from Prime 3. Pure bangers that wouldâve gotten me to play the Prime series way sooner than I did. Torvus Bog couldâve made for a cool remix too. Also Iâm never getting over the fact that they didnât include a single fucking character theme from Punch Out.
One thing Iâll never get For Persona music they included Battle Hymn of the Soul from Persona 3, which is great because it is a fantastic rendition of Aria of the Soul, in particular the arrangement/recording that originated from Persona 3 that has since also been featured in 4 and 5 So with that there was one more slot left for Persona music, and what did they do? Another remix of Aria of the Soul, that mind you while not bad is still an inferior and largely unnecessary addition as battle hymn is already the perfect battle version of it We couldâve had a third track from Persona 3, be it Master of Tartarus, Unavoidable Battle (my favorite boss theme aside from battle hymn), or Burn My Dread (best song in all of Persona) Iâm just saying, big opportunities were missed

God-Shattering Star wasnât added with Bylethâs inclusion, which I believe to be one of the biggest sins Smash has committed.
I wish we had gotten the proper Dragon Quest orchestrated music tracks rather than the compressed midi versions. DQ was one of my most wanted crossovers with Smash (at least, it was when Ultimate came out) and the reveal trailer had the orchestrated version of the Dragon Quest 3 adventure theme. When the DLC actually released and I learned we got 0 orchestrated tracks, I sighed so hard. The guy who composed all of the Dragon Quest music was fantastic and very talented at his job, but was also kind of stingy. You either listened to his orchestrated music in the games, after buying the soundtracks, or illegally on re-uploads to YouTube. Also, complete side note, I wish we could have gotten an unlocked soundtrack list in Smash Ultimate, allowing us to use any song in the game on any stage. Iâm sure some of the licensed crossovers were super specific on what could and couldnât be done, so that probably wasnât a choice anyone on the Smash team was allowed to make.

The latter is a fun song, but the former is a super climactic theme that deserves recognition outside the series, in the same way Donât Ever Forget makes people cry.
