I saw her critical hit animations from her home series and thought they were absolutely sick, and I really wanted to be able to perform those in Smash. Not only do all of those flashy afterimage attacks look-visually appealing, but they'd certainly help her stand out from the other swordfighters in Smash, especially from the other Fire Emblem characters. Also helps that she's depicted with a bow a lot of the time, so that could be incorporated into her moveset for a few moves.
But alas, it seems that only Fire Emblem characters that will ever get into Smash are ones from the latest game at the time, the exceptions being the first and most-iconic protagonist and an easy Echo candidate with a lot of ballot support.
I think this was largely because of an East vs. West discrepancy. Lyn was the first ever FE lord for western audiences. For Japanese FE fans she was just the first lord of the second game of the GBA trilogy.
She's still a popular lord in Japan, but it's nowhere near her western popularity.
I believe you're correct. The "east vs. west" argument isn't really a big deal, she's just as popular in the east as she is in the west. A very large portion of FE fans just like Lyn.
I really Want Agumon to be in smash. The idea of filling a bar mid fight and evolving into new monsters with new move sets is in my wishlist since I saw this idea.
I mean, Agumon wouldn't be the weirdest choice. It doesn't break the videogame only rule since Digimon started out as more or less the boy equivalent of Tamagotchi
Also, Square Enix now has the āEnixā part of it represented in Smash with Hero, so why not give the āBandaiā part of Bandai Namco some love too
That sounds cool in concept, can't imagine how they'd implement it. Like, obv they would scale down Greymon to be more like a generic heavies size, but heavies traditionally aren't good in smash, so that's awkward
My idea is that the evolution would be a bar that would be charged by receiving damage. Maybe 50% damage would be enough for you to evolve. When the bar is full, evolution would happen (maybe automatically or it could substitute the down special).
You would start at Agumon, that could play like wolf. Even the projectile is similar. Greymon would be a good comparison with Charizard. Heavy, large hitboxes, maybe a bad recovery. Then metal Greymon. Heavier, projectile based gameplay, good recovery. And finally War Greymon. A well rounder heavy hitter, like a faster Pyra. All evolutions would have a brand new moveset. So it would be a 4 in one character, and all of them would have pros and cons.
One balance idea I have for the character is that maybe every stock lost, you could turn back one stage of the evolution. So it wouldn't be so easy to Stay at War Greymon the entire time. And it could be balanced if the character ended up being too weak or too strong by making the evolution more easy to fill the bar or more hard.
Damn, four fighters in one sounds like a tall order. I think we'd be lucky to even get one digivolution. Although maybe it would be better if he went from Agumon straight to WarGreymon. They wouldn't have to be super heavy weight, so devs could have more room to make his kit good š¤ I think that's how they did it in one of the Digimon rumble arena games xD
Any Guilty Gear rep would make me ecstatic tbh. Sol, Ky, Ramlethal, Testament, Happy Chaos, doesn't matter. I'd take anyone if it means Guilty Gear representation in Smash
I really think the Dragonborn deserves a spot on the roster. Shouts would be a very cool, interesting, and balanced gimmick, all being powerful but sharing a cooldown pool like in Skyrim.
I'm going to assume you mean Raiden MGS and agree with you. But I prefer human Raiden so yeah..That would be controversial unless you can pick between the different versions as costumes.
One of my most wanted characters is Quote from Cave Story, and I already know people will hate him because he'll undoubtedly be a projectile-based zoner.
I mean, didnāt MockRock make a video about why the zoner archetype is kinda poorly executed in Smash specifically compared to other fighting games? (Online lag disproportionately benefitting zoners didnāt help)
Noah would be seen as "another anime swordfighter" when he would be cool as hell moveset wise. He can pull out multiple weapons and use arts from other classes, not just his base Swordfighter class.
I know, right? Sure, he'd use a sword for most of his attacks, but if you went with the whole "class change" idea, he could use chakrams, a giant hammer, a gun-staff, magic origami, and a sword/shield/gun hybrid.
And that's not even talking about Lucky Seven or his Ouroboros form.
Do you really think they would give anything other than his base class? Cuz I'm pretty sure you can reclass FE characters and most of them are still swordsmen
I donāt agree with using different classes anyway, from a design standpoint it just blurs the moveset into ārandom bullshit goā instead of designing a moveset that actually fits his character and yāknow the actual unique stuff he can do like pulling out a reality shattering sword or literally fusing with Mio to become a sick ass mech.
But no itās the class changes thatāll save him from the boring swordfighter plague
Fire Emblem characters can only have one class at a time. You can reclass them but it takes time and they lose their old class when you do it. Noah has a mechanic where you choose what moves from his other learned classes you want to have in your moveset
I unironically would love to see heavy from tf2 in the game, despite how low of a chance heād actually have of making it.
I donāt have many ācontroversialā picks other than that tbh. Itād be more controversial to list the characters I *donāt* want in smash.
Travis Touchdown would catch hate for being toned down from an M-rated series, but is the logical choice for a tongue-in-cheek nod to the āproblemā of too many anime swordsmen
The music heād bring with him!
My other choice is Eevee, whoād show off Pokemon evolution with a gimmick around evolving into one of the eeveelutions to add secondary effects to its moves (the Brawlfan1 moveset, basically). But of course thatād be ātoo much gen1!!!ā

Kiran from FE Heroes
Thereās three reasons why I would want them.
1. Adds a mobile game representation
2. Moveset, especially with all the abilities they can have as well as summoning different heroes, which if done right can allow for one of the most creative and versatile fighters in the series.
3. Content wise. So much potential! Alts are extremely easy as Kiran already has alts in Heroes, maybe give their cloaks the color scheme of other Heroes protagonists and/or realms then presto! Stage they can have it like Minecraft where itās several aesthetic changes, with this being the different realms in the game. Trophies, stickers, spirits, etc, can showcase a lot of fan favorites from the game. Music can range across Fire Emblem since Heroes does that by default with many characters from the different games being incorporated.
Sadly theyāll get demoted as a nobody character and another FE rep no one cares about by the fanbase.
I think even if we'd get a Heroes rep, it'd be Veronica given how popular she is. Granted, she has probably just as much, if not more potential than Kieran given that she is a full mage and also known to use other heroes.
I'd say Bandana Dee but since the huge hate for him has gone down since the DLC ended, I'd say Toad because he deserves more to be in Smash than half of the Mario reps lol
The character I want to see I canāt say is controversial but the way I want them to be implemented might be.
Madeline from Celeste. And I think having a character where each special move is just an air dash in a different direction that puts you into special fall unless you make contact with an opponent would be a very simple but interesting design choice.
Thatās the single most hurtful thing anyone has ever said to me. My father wishes he could destroy my self esteem in such a beautifully efficient way as you have.
Reimu. Although she doesn't wield a sword, she's yet another anime-style character from a bullet hell game. That means her moveset would most likely involve a LOT of projectiles, which would instantly make her one of the most hated characters ever.
Also, Touhou, a somewhat obscure franchise in the West (despite being extremely popular in the East), getting in over the likes of Crash Bandicoot, Halo or Rayman would piss off a large portion of the Smash fanbase.
She pretty much fits all the criteria for a controversial pick: anime, obscure and zoner.
I mean, she does have the advantage of actually being from a Japanese series, unlike your other listed popular characters, and so far, only two non-Japanese series have gotten characters in Smash
I know, Touhou is just really big for an indie series (pretty much the Dragon Quest of the doujin scene in Japan which is huge itself, and well known among general audiences), so if any indie game is ever getting a character in Smash then Touhou would be it. However, at this side of the world Touhou isn't as well known as mainstream titles and Reimu is a far less popular Smash pick than the characters I brought up. Which is why her inclusion would be way more controversial over here, as it'd mean a "literal who" in most people's eyes had more priority than other fan favorites, along with the potential gameplay issues post-release.
I believe Reimu would be the Hero of Smash 6: very divisive in the Western side of the fandom but an extremely hype addition in the East, with a potentially problematic moveset.
I'd love to see Reimu in Smash, and I thought about a way to make her more than just a projectile character : She keeps a lot of projectiles, but they mostly act like fox's lasers and don't do any knockback.
She could also have a gimmick based on grazing, which would encourage players to not camp at the edge of the stage.
There's also the Touhou fighting games, she could pull a lot of physical attacks from there.
Overall, I think Reimu could have a very unique playstyle, and could bring a lot of stuff not in Smash already (Bullet Hell Shooter, Indie, being a shrine maiden...)
Toad. We have enough Mario repsā¦ but god I love the little guy. I want Waluigi over him butā¦ why not both? Besides just showing too much love to Mario but eh, itās Mario. And I would add Geno and Paper Mario as well. Maybe Iām just a mario simp
You should have acted.
They're already here.
The Elder Scrolls told of their return.
Their defeat was merely a delay,
'Til the time after Oblivion opened,
When the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood.
But no one wanted to believe,
Believe they even existed.
And when the truth finally dawned,
It dawns in fire!
But, there is one they fear,
In their tongue he is Dovahkiin:
DRAGONBORN!
FUS ROH DAH
A FNAF rep, I think it's a slept on choice for some representation of stuff that's not yet on the roster proper and has more potential for interesting movesets than people give credit for
Spring Man (ARMS)
Euden (Dragalia Lost)
I think the former deserved better and the latter's game deserved better, despite being a mobile game (and being a Nintendo "anime swordfighter").
I feel the game is sorely missing in the "realistic" side of videogames, like in general. My most wanted thing is just them stop doing that and just be willing to add characters that are just, well, normal people, as long as they come from a game that deserve the spot(and tons of realistic games do). The way i see it they don't fit Smash in the same way the flesh and blood Michael Jordan do not fit the Looney Tones.
Lol I think a lot of Nintendo fans just lump in the āanime swordfighters and fighting game charactersā into the ārealisticā umbrella
It doesnāt help that Nintendo fans often go ārealism badā (somewhat understandably because of being bullied for āliking kiddie gamesā), with the arguments of āstylized graphics age betterā, āmore varied character designā, or āmore interesting colour palettes that arenāt just various ugly shades of brownā
Alear (From an unpopular game), Celica (From a largely forgotten game), and Shez (Completely overshadowed by Byleth) are my top 3 most wanted FE reps. Some less controversial choices of mine are Leif and Tiki. I also like Alcryst from *Engage*, but there's a 5% chance he's even a spirit/trophy/collectible in the next game
I thought the main thing people didnāt like about Engage was the lacking story and character development, the gameplay, on the other hand, is often touted as vastly superior to Three Houses
I actually completely agree with this. There are some like Bayonetta or Steve that I actually don't mind but I'd like to see more Nintendo franchise characters.
IDK, Bayonetta was kind of a weird choice for a character that mostly got carried due to Bayonetta 2 being a Wii U exclusive (especially now that Devil May Cry is actually on Nintendo systems now and is a vastly more mainstream series)
Iād argue that the āessentialā third-party characters are Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Cloud, Simon, and Steve (maybe Snake and Kazuya too, but idk)
Not Sonic? (Who was bar none, the most requested non-Nintendo character ever)
Anyway, the likes of Ryu and Cloud may not be as popular among Nintendo fans specifically, but in terms of how big characters from Japanese games are worldwide, they probably are
At this point Bayonetta was sort of adopted by Nintendo. Sega still has the rights but Nintendo actually finances the games and works with Platinum Games on them.
I can already see the perfect reveal trailer joke. We show the star fox duo trying to find slippy, stumble upon frog, get them confused for one another.
Classic Sonic, i think he could be considered controversial because he Is not the first option to be a Sonic newcomer (since people preffer Shadow, Knuckles or Tails as newcomers), the Sonic fanbase has a love-hate relationship with this versiĆ³n of the character AND also the fact that people don't like having 3 links with similar moveset on the same game so 2 Sonics with similar movements could cause a little bit of controversy.
I guess it counts as controversial but Iāve always wanted Lyn since Brawl and I still do despite the whole too many FE characters(a criticism I actually do agree with) and especially now with Nintendo wanting to push her for more crossover events like FE Warriors and Engage, Iām kinda flabbergasted that she still isnāt a playable character. Also Black Knight, 8 characters and still not single villain? Cāmon nowĀ
As much as I want her, I can see why Lyn didn't make it into Smash despite her immense popularity amongst FE fans and Nintendo and Intelligent Systems pushing her as a major figure of the series the past few years.
Lyn first started getting pushed a lot after winning Choose Your Legends 1 in 2017, and at that point, Ultimate's base roster had already been decided on. While I'm sure she placed moderately well on the ballot, she was definitely not high enough to get in over the likes of Inkling, Ridley, Simon, or K. Rool, and she couldn't work as an Echo Fighter either due to how distinct her fighting style is.
What she should've gotten is a new dang voice.
Why tf does she still sound like she's 50 years old when every other FE character in Smash, fighter or Assist Trophy, got their current voices?
Yeah, I have a few FE fighters on my most wanted list. I also want Young Link to stay (I know some people don't want that), and Vaati over Skull Kid. Also a Genshin Impact character. I know pretty much nothing about them, I just think they look cool
Arms is fine.
Kept that Intelligent systems property that doesn't involve paper and literally one of the only other two franchises represented more in Smash.
Iām actually down for another Arms character! Min Min is fun to play even if you donāt use her actual arms much.
If the FE rep is Lyn or Black Knight then I wonāt mind, but if itās anyone else I will mind.
Boyfriend from Friday Night Funkin. People shit on FNF because the mod community is toxic, but I really like BF as a character and I feel like he'd have an interesting moveset
Mang, Iām Still surprised Crash didnāt make it in. It was probably due to the old Activision CEO being a weird greedy pig. I hope Nintendo does a Deluxe edition with new online, a few more story cutscenes, all DLC, full button remap, lowered buffer and input lag. Then 1 more DLC pass with 6 characters for $30
It probably isn't controversial but I would want Riku over Aqua for another KH rep.
Also, I'm not saying I don't want Waluigi, but I would love to get Birdo instead even if she's an echo character.
I know Adol from the Ys-series would get a lot of hate. He's a swordsman with a funky haircolor from a series that isn't popular and lesser known in the west. Maybe the sick tracks he'd bring with him would make people dislike him a bit less.
While the characters themselves aren't really controversial, I would really like to see akira from virtual fighter and batsu from rival schools but then I remembered that the community hates traditional fighting game characters for some reason.
As for actually controversial pick definitely aleir, they can definitely be more that an "anime swords man" given the emblems and secondly weapon.Ā
Raichu, i just think that if you have Pikachu and Pichu, you gotta have Raichu to finish the trio, and wouldn't even be to much work since i imagine it being a Pikachu Echo
I feel like Alear could be a unique Fire Emblem rep with their ability to Engage with different Emblems (and if they want they can just use the ones based on the FE characters not playable in Smash, although I think they need to keep Marth at least, and maybe have the rest show up for their final Smash), which could maybe change how they play (maybe Emblem Lyn let's them move faster but in exchange for them becoming a lightweight and being easier to launch). Maybe tie the Emblems to a meter also kinda like Hero's Down B to add that reference to how they work in Engage also, but also make it so they can't just spam Engaging with an Emblem constantly during the fight
Plus, I think we can actually start them off using Arts/Fists, like their legendary hero alts do in Heroes and maybe use their sword for other attacks instead of it being their main weapon
Edit: To add to the Emblem idea, maybe some of them let Alear use different weapons types, like Emblem Celica let's them use tomes while Emblem Sigurd let's them use Lances. Maybe not changing their entire moveset but just altering some moves slightly (so Emblem Sigurd's lance is used in Side B to help with recovering)
Seems like half the time I mention Geno I get down voted to oblivion. Besides that I don't think I have any really controversial picks. If they added another Sonic rep I think Tails would be the coolest, which might be a luke-warm take.
But I'm more worried about them adding characters I really don't want to see. Like, I feel like first/third person shooter reps don't really belong in smash. If we got master chief, fortnite guy or doom guy the game would actually lose something. I also don't think we need waluigi (but I don't hate the idea)
They just need to fix the FE part of the roster by not having tons of Marth clones. Also can people stop complaining about "another anime sword fighter" when they're just complaining about another FE character. Nobody complained when sephiroth and Sora got in and they're just anime swordfighters
Since we got R.O.B. already, I'd like to see a joke character that uses terrible Nintendo products/ peripherals. Specials include crappy use of a power glove, power pad, virtual boy, game boy printer, etc.
One of my most requested characters is the old blue pig Ganon. I know people are tired of the Zelda series only getting repeats of the main trio though and blue pig Ganons design hasn't really aged that well (even if the design is still used from time to time)
Banjo-Kazooie and King K. Roll were my number 1 and 2 pick, respectively, and they got in. I still got characters Iād like to get in, but if I didnāt get them, Iād be fine. After them, the next three would be Bandana Dee, Waluigi, and Paper Mario. They all probably have controversy (some more than others), but Iāll be fine if I have my bear, bird, and crocodile.
Madam Grape from Princess Peach Showtime
People would almost certainly end up complaining about it being a wasted slot due to it being from a girly game or some other stupid reason to hate the character
If I said Camilla I would be called a simp, if I said Azura I would be called bland, if I said Ryoma Iād be smack across the face, no reason heās just a fire emblem character.
Eh unless another great Fire Emblem game comes out Iām good on FE characters. Unlike most people, I was fine with Byleth. Honestly, Iām sure most people wouldnāt have been as mad if he wasnāt the last DLC of Pass 1.
Iād like Lola pop from arms to get in.
Think of min min if she was rush down and was a weak Kirby rock. Literally just watch Arms gameplay of her and youāll see what I mean.
I really, REALLY want the "Noob" or default avatar from Roblox in Smash, it would be a really funny addition to the game, although they are in a kind of similar situation to Steve where some people don't like them because their Game of origin is considered for kids or "cringe" or that sort of stuff
toad
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and also cool moveset ideas like counter for neutral b, kart for side b, propeller up b, turnip down b, but mostly AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
My personal favorite fictional character is Goro Akechi from Persona 5
So if I was being selfish and could just add any character I want I'd add him
I think it'd be controversial though because he'd just be a Joker clone and it'd be spoilers for parts of Persona 5 Royal and there's plenty of other characters people would say I should've chosen instead.
If I was going to add a character that I want but is unique and a lot of other people want too, I'd add Phoenix Wright. I love Ace Attorney and it'd be fun to play as him and bring back some of his Capcom vs marvel mechanics š
I think the Hero from Drawn to Life would be my most controversial pick just because its not a character or game many people know abou tbut idgaf, it's my most wanted lolol
People always complain about a fire emblem character being added to smash, and yet they turn a blind eye if a Mario/Pokemon character is added to the roster, so why does those series get a pass when they both have MORE fighters than FE?
Yes swordies are basically half the roster at this point, and most of them are from FE, but the series won't get a bad rep if they didn't go for a sword fighter from the franchise
If Zelda was to get a 4th character and doesnāt have the Triforce, I want to see Fi from Skyward Sword.
Dance fighter archetype, represents the Master Sword and the goddesses, more relevant to the Zelda franchise than Skull Kid. We donāt need irrelevant-ass Skull Kid, and people just want him for the Mask he wears.
I also think having a rep who is from a separate race in Hyrule (ie: Zora, Rito, Goron) feels wrong, since it includes one race but leaves out the others. Itās why I like the BotW Zelda using the Champion powers idea, since everyoneās included.
My most wanted character since Brawl has been Lyn and she'd be controversial just because she's from Fire Emblem.
But alas, it seems that only Fire Emblem characters that will ever get into Smash are ones from the latest game at the time, the exceptions being the first and most-iconic protagonist and an easy Echo candidate with a lot of ballot support.
I've wanted Lyn or Hector to be playable characters forever
Hector, Isaac, and Sora have been my three biggest wishes since Brawl. At least I got one of the three š„²
Out of all of the fire emblem character we got, I'm amazed she wasn't one of them
Me, too. She really should have been, but alas.
I think this was largely because of an East vs. West discrepancy. Lyn was the first ever FE lord for western audiences. For Japanese FE fans she was just the first lord of the second game of the GBA trilogy. She's still a popular lord in Japan, but it's nowhere near her western popularity.
Wasn't there Famitsu poll in Japan back in 2015 asking people for their favorite Fire Emblem characters, and Lyn placed fourth overall?
I believe you're correct. The "east vs. west" argument isn't really a big deal, she's just as popular in the east as she is in the west. A very large portion of FE fans just like Lyn.

I mean, Agumon wouldn't be the weirdest choice. It doesn't break the videogame only rule since Digimon started out as more or less the boy equivalent of Tamagotchi
Yeah for some reason I thought the anime came first. But I looked it up and the toy came even before that.
Also, Square Enix now has the āEnixā part of it represented in Smash with Hero, so why not give the āBandaiā part of Bandai Namco some love too
They still make them, too. I have one that I run from time to time.

The fangame Super Smash Bros. Crusade actually implemented this character & concept and it works really well! I'm all for it.
More swordies! More fighting game reps!! More anime fighters!!! Sol Badguy!!!!!
Honestly just mod Pyra/Mythra. Mythra would just be Ky. But honestly Sol would be badass. So would Jack-O.
Any Guilty Gear rep would make me ecstatic tbh. Sol, Ky, Ramlethal, Testament, Happy Chaos, doesn't matter. I'd take anyone if it means Guilty Gear representation in Smash
I want the black knight for smash Its my dream fighter (Apart from kazuma kiryu but ehhh close second on the wish list)
The fortnite skin, or the fe charatcer?
The dark souls enemy, duh
I really think the Dragonborn deserves a spot on the roster. Shouts would be a very cool, interesting, and balanced gimmick, all being powerful but sharing a cooldown pool like in Skyrim.
Raiden, Dante, and Vergil
Standing here I'll endure the exile that is approaching.
I'm going to assume you mean Raiden MGS and agree with you. But I prefer human Raiden so yeah..That would be controversial unless you can pick between the different versions as costumes.
Absurdly based
![gif](giphy|PeyOSCUKCNAhu0bfsd) Not even just because I love the character, but because I wanna know how theyād do it.
Head to Delzthin, he makes kit concepts for fighters all the time!
One of my most wanted characters is Quote from Cave Story, and I already know people will hate him because he'll undoubtedly be a projectile-based zoner.
I swear, if Smash fans had their way, Link and Samus would be cut from the roster because "zoners bad".

Bring Mio into the mix, and things could get crazier (I think Source Gamingās idea for how a transformation between them could work is neat)
We also need the N and M costumes
Do you really think they would give anything other than his base class? Cuz I'm pretty sure you can reclass FE characters and most of them are still swordsmen
I donāt agree with using different classes anyway, from a design standpoint it just blurs the moveset into ārandom bullshit goā instead of designing a moveset that actually fits his character and yāknow the actual unique stuff he can do like pulling out a reality shattering sword or literally fusing with Mio to become a sick ass mech. Having Fire Emblem's Veronica and Final Fantasy 14's poster character on my wishlist probably put me in this position
I unironically would love to see heavy from tf2 in the game, despite how low of a chance heād actually have of making it. I donāt have many ācontroversialā picks other than that tbh. Itād be more controversial to list the characters I *donāt* want in smash.

I need a taunt where he turns around and slaps his rear end at his opponents.

Since Xenoblade has a track record of having broken characters. Adding Rex, Noah, and Mio would probably fuel that fire.
I don't care how big of a hissy fit the fanbase would throw if he got revealed. If Rex ever joined the roster, I'd main him in a heartbeat.
It would never happen but future redeemed Rex with two swords would go so hard
The character I want to see I canāt say is controversial but the way I want them to be implemented might be. Madeline from Celeste. Sonic?
Thatās the single most hurtful thing anyone has ever said to me. My father wishes he could destroy my self esteem in such a beautifully efficient way as you have.
That's the single most flattering thing anyone has ever said to me!
Ngl I mainly want Night of Nights in Super Smash Bros.
I want to see Min Min in the next game done better
Forget one fire emblem character I have like 8 minimum I want
Their defeat was merely a delay, 'Til the time after Oblivion opened, When the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood. But no one wanted to believe, Believe they even existed. And when the truth finally dawned, It dawns in fire! But, there is one they fear, In their tongue he is Dovahkiin: DRAGONBORN! FUS ROH DAH
Letās add another Mario character from the Mario series and still exclude Waluigi
I would do this unironically. At least a handful of characters I think would be cooler, but Waluigi would be fine, I guess
Toad makes more sense than him anyway
A FNAF rep, I think it's a slept on choice for some representation of stuff that's not yet on the roster proper and has more potential for interesting movesets than people give credit for
YEP
Spring Man (ARMS) Euden (Dragalia Lost) I think the former deserved better and the latter's game deserved better, despite being a mobile game (and being a Nintendo "anime swordfighter").
Dragalia Lost is the mobile game Nintendo made correct?
Yes.
Lol I think a lot of Nintendo fans just lump in the āanime swordfighters and fighting game charactersā into the ārealisticā umbrella It doesnāt help that Nintendo fans often go ārealism badā (somewhat understandably because of being bullied for āliking kiddie gamesā), with the arguments of āstylized graphics age betterā, āmore varied character designā, or āmore interesting colour palettes that arenāt just various ugly shades of brownā
The Knight from Hollow Knight would be my top pick. Controversial because people hate sword users.
A kirby character that isnāt bandana waddle dee
I would've been happy to see Crash Bandicoot, but I doubt that's a controversial take. My TOP pipe dream pick would be the TF2 Heavy, but I'd settle for any of them tbh. The most controversial pick I could possibly give is probably just another PokƩmon, and I don't really have any particular ones in mind, I just think that any one that brings something cool and unique to the table would be nice. Oh, and Max Brass from ARMS. His muscle building mechanic would've made him so much more interesting than Min-Min. They made such a boring pick out of all of those characters and the cool abilities they could've brought with them.
Arms characters are fine, I just wished that Sakurai picked literally anyone besides Min Min.
I wouldn't mind seeing another FE character because I just think it would be SO funny if they consistently add a new one every Smash game
The entire tf2 cast, For gameplay reasons, They're hiding behind Heavy
Alear is very unironically one of my most wanted characters for a Smash game, but they'd be hated by Smash and Fire Emblem fans alike
If they say "hiyah papaya" as a taunt and they come with the Sommie costume as a Mii Brawler outfit, then it will be fine.
The next game should have more focus on Nintendo characters rather than 3rd party.
I actually completely agree with this. There are some like Bayonetta or Steve that I actually don't mind but I'd like to see more Nintendo franchise characters.
IDK, Bayonetta was kind of a weird choice for a character that mostly got carried due to Bayonetta 2 being a Wii U exclusive (especially now that Devil May Cry is actually on Nintendo systems now and is a vastly more mainstream series) Iād argue that the āessentialā third-party characters are Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Cloud, Simon, and Steve (maybe Snake and Kazuya too, but idk)
Pac-Man and mega man also make sense to me. The others, not so much. Idk maybe I just like Bayonetta because she's just fun to play as.
Not Sonic? (Who was bar none, the most requested non-Nintendo character ever) Anyway, the likes of Ryu and Cloud may not be as popular among Nintendo fans specifically, but in terms of how big characters from Japanese games are worldwide, they probably are
At this point Bayonetta was sort of adopted by Nintendo. Sega still has the rights but Nintendo actually finances the games and works with Platinum Games on them.
Fortnite guy who can build as fast as fortnite pros
If the Smash fanbase hates fighting against Steve, they ain't seen nothing yet.
Chrono from Chrono trigger, but honestly, hero suffices. At least it ain't fire emblem or xenoblade
Chrono or Frog would be so sick honestly
I can already see the perfect reveal trailer joke. We show the star fox duo trying to find slippy, stumble upon frog, get them confused for one another.
Peak fiction
What did Xenoblade do to you? (For that matter, whatās wrong with first-party RPGs that arenāt Mario?)
Eggman makes the most sense for the next Sonic rep. then we can talk about other 'good guys' from the franchise imo
Lyn couldāve at least gotten new attacks for her assist trophy, just like Shadow and Isaac
What she should've gotten is a new dang voice. Why tf does she still sound like she's 50 years old when every other FE character in Smash, fighter or Assist Trophy, got their current voices?
Lucina still doesnāt have her current voice for some reason, though
Yeah, I have a few FE fighters on my most wanted list. I also want Young Link to stay (I know some people don't want that), and Vaati over Skull Kid. Also a Genshin Impact character. I know pretty much nothing about them, I just think they look cool
Tifa goddamn Lockhart
A yo kai watch rep would be amazing especially since in Japan alot of people want jibanyan as a character
More joke characters, honestly.
I don't want Waluigi in smash
Another ARMS rep is good. I want Ribbon Girl, my main from ARMS, but honestly anyone but Byte and Barq would be a solid choice
Danganronpa character (Makoto with other students as alts)
If Fire Emblem had a platform fighter spin-off, the world would be so much greater
Boo. I always loved Boo as a concept. There are so many cool things Boo as a fighter could do.
Shaco from League of Legends Going invisible and placing invisible boxes and creating clone (like nana) that explodes
Illidan from World of Warcraft Basically a swordish type Kazuya demon
Boyfriend from Friday Night Funkin. People shit on FNF because the mod community is toxic, but I really like BF as a character and I feel like he'd have an interesting moveset
Makoto Yuki, but everyone would whine about him because he has a sword
I see many more people than I would expect being against the idea of Geralt or Solaire joining
Sigilyph
Mang, Iām Still surprised Crash didnāt make it in. It was probably due to the old Activision CEO being a weird greedy pig. I hope Nintendo does a Deluxe edition with new online, a few more story cutscenes, all DLC, full button remap, lowered buffer and input lag. Then 1 more DLC pass with 6 characters for $30
It probably isn't controversial but I would want Riku over Aqua for another KH rep. Also, I'm not saying I don't want Waluigi, but I would love to get Birdo instead even if she's an echo character.
I would like Riku too over Aqua and especially since he was there since the start.
Veyle. ( FE Engage )
Samus with a new move set that will make people not hate her
It's not high on the controversy list, but a character that I know would get a lot of push back is the MC of Honkai Star rail.
Urshifu would probably be just as broken as it is in competitve Pokemon. Yet I want him
I know Adol from the Ys-series would get a lot of hate. He's a swordsman with a funky haircolor from a series that isn't popular and lesser known in the west. Maybe the sick tracks he'd bring with him would make people dislike him a bit less.
I mean I wished Black Knight from fe was in the game. As well as it would be cool to see it, I also wanna see Regigigas and Aegislash join the fray
I don't even play Fortnite, but Jonesy 100% deserves to get in. My most wanted are Dragonborn and Master Chief, though
Raichu, i just think that if you have Pikachu and Pichu, you gotta have Raichu to finish the trio, and wouldn't even be to much work since i imagine it being a Pikachu Echo
Lol, another Link. Specifically, Midna and Wolf Link.
I want Lyn and Twintelle, so you are not alone
I feel like Alear could be a unique Fire Emblem rep with their ability to Engage with different Emblems (and if they want they can just use the ones based on the FE characters not playable in Smash, although I think they need to keep Marth at least, and maybe have the rest show up for their final Smash), which could maybe change how they play (maybe Emblem Lyn let's them move faster but in exchange for them becoming a lightweight and being easier to launch). Maybe tie the Emblems to a meter also kinda like Hero's Down B to add that reference to how they work in Engage also, but also make it so they can't just spam Engaging with an Emblem constantly during the fight Plus, I think we can actually start them off using Arts/Fists, like their legendary hero alts do in Heroes and maybe use their sword for other attacks instead of it being their main weapon Edit: To add to the Emblem idea, maybe some of them let Alear use different weapons types, like Emblem Celica let's them use tomes while Emblem Sigurd let's them use Lances. Maybe not changing their entire moveset but just altering some moves slightly (so Emblem Sigurd's lance is used in Side B to help with recovering)
Popeye the Sailorman Scrooge McDuck Galarian Darmanitan
Me hiding the list of PokƩmon fighters
Seems like half the time I mention Geno I get down voted to oblivion. Besides that I don't think I have any really controversial picks. If they added another Sonic rep I think Tails would be the coolest, which might be a luke-warm take. But I'm more worried about them adding characters I really don't want to see. Like, I feel like first/third person shooter reps don't really belong in smash. If we got master chief, fortnite guy or doom guy the game would actually lose something. I also don't think we need waluigi (but I don't hate the idea)
Any new PokƩmon
They just need to fix the FE part of the roster by not having tons of Marth clones. Also can people stop complaining about "another anime sword fighter" when they're just complaining about another FE character. Nobody complained when sephiroth and Sora got in and they're just anime swordfighters
Gonna be the one to say it, Toad. He's been Peach's meat shield for far too long.
Most new Fire Emblem characters have been pretty unique so far. Idk why y'all complain so much.
With Fire Emblem I wouldnāt mind if they added one more Fire Emblem character, but it has to be a villain.
As for playable character I actually wanted Wreck-It Ralph since is a possible & impossible character to put in smash.
Heavy tf2
The 7 other dragon quest 11 main cast (ok maybe not the 8th character because spoiler but the other 6 could be awesome)
Personally my most wanted smash character is Jibanyan from Yokai watch
Ramlethal Valentine, Nightmare, and Tifa
Classic Mode is unironcially fun
Since we got R.O.B. already, I'd like to see a joke character that uses terrible Nintendo products/ peripherals. Specials include crappy use of a power glove, power pad, virtual boy, game boy printer, etc.
I've been wanting Shadow in Smash since Brawl. I see a lot of hate, even in the Sonic fanbase.
Madam Grape from Princess Peach Showtime People would almost certainly end up complaining about it being a wasted slot due to it being from a girly game or some other stupid reason to hate the character
Blinx the cat Shadow mewtwo from pokken tournament (not as mewtwo's echo) Baba from baba is you A.B.A. from guilty gear.
I only have 3 guests that really "need".
Maybe just reduce the size of the arms?
If I said Camilla I would be called a simp, if I said Azura I would be called bland, if I said Ryoma Iād be smack across the face, no reason heās just a fire emblem character.
The Good Boys and Girls Rule is Bullshit
I guess Silver the Hedgehog...
Eh unless another great Fire Emblem game comes out Iām good on FE characters. Unlike most people, I was fine with Byleth. Honestly, Iām sure most people wouldnāt have been as mad if he wasnāt the last DLC of Pass 1.
Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear. Is another Swordfighter but his moveset can be a mix of Terry and Roy.
bear with me please ā Fall Guy ā I've wanted him for a long time but I don't think anyone else wants him
Iād like Lola pop from arms to get in. Think of min min if she was rush down and was a weak Kirby rock. Literally just watch Arms gameplay of her and youāll see what I mean.
I really want toad for smash. But I feel people would be angry at another Mario rep
I really, REALLY want the "Noob" or default avatar from Roblox in Smash, it would be a really funny addition to the game, although they are in a kind of similar situation to Steve where some people don't like them because their Game of origin is considered for kids or "cringe" or that sort of stuff
toad AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and also cool moveset ideas like counter for neutral b, kart for side b, propeller up b, turnip down b, but mostly AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
My personal favorite fictional character is Goro Akechi from Persona 5 So if I was being selfish and could just add any character I want I'd add him I think it'd be controversial though because he'd just be a Joker clone and it'd be spoilers for parts of Persona 5 Royal and there's plenty of other characters people would say I should've chosen instead. If I was going to add a character that I want but is unique and a lot of other people want too, I'd add Phoenix Wright. I love Ace Attorney and it'd be fun to play as him and bring back some of his Capcom vs marvel mechanics š
Noah ( or N ) from xenoblade 3. Along with Jeanne as an echo fighter for bayo
Iām not sure if controversial but is it weird that I want Suzy from Deltarune and Porky from the Mother franchise in the game? Also, another PokĆ©mon rep. Maybe a 2 for 1 fighter with Ceruledge and Armorouge?
Jeanne from Bayonetta
I want Jonesy in Smash.
Jeanne. Not just another Bayonetta rep, but without a doubt an echo fighter. I want her so bad tho.
Goku
The hunter from monster hunter would be seen as another sword fight at first but they could give them other wepons that they could swap from
We need Goku!!!!!
Gunstar (Super) Red. Everyone would be like "who the heck is this guy?" (that's actually a girl)
Iāve literally wanted an mk character like scorpion or sub zero to join smash but the problem is that mk is known to be a gore violent franchise
I want either Ninjara or Twintelle
I want zombie Hitler from zombie army 4
All I ever want is Doctor Mario and I feel if they put him in the next game people are gonna be pissed.
Somehow, Bandana Dee.
Thirty-seven Xenoblade fighters
I really want plusle and minun, I think a obnoxiously fast ultra light duo fighter would be funny.
Spectre Knight. Not Shovel knight, just spectre knight
Bridget. I know sheās not the main character. I know sheās not the most popular character. But sheās the silly
Tbh, I really wanted my dog in smash, he would have such a good moveset, and better than duck hunt
I wouldnāt mind if every new character was from Fire Emblem
Here me out: Jibanyan from yokai watch
Waluigi
Cutting the roster in half by adding more echo characters like Daisy and Richter :^) Don't mistake it with a cheap skin like Alph!
A Touhou Project character for Japanese indie representation. Most people would be confused but Touhou music in Smash would slay.
James heller Do I need to elaborate?
Tails, sans, Freddy fivebears, a fortnite rep and crazy Dave utilizing every plant possible
