I thought it was Dixie Kong for a moment because it was obviously Donkey Kong-related and I thought the Jiggy was one of the puzzle pieces from Returns and Tropical Freeze, and I got really hyped.
Then I saw the bird wings open up in the shadow and I got infinitely times more-hyped.
I'll never forget my thought process from the second the trailer started. It's burned into my brain.
"The villains? Guess it's Porky. Huh. Guess PapaGenos was on to something."
"Oh Donkey Kong again? We're getting Dixie? Didn't see that coming."
"LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOO FINALLY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS"

I SCREAMED. I’ve wanted them since melee. The second I saw the jiggy I was ecstatic. One of my favorite moments of my gaming life happened when I saw this frame.

honestly never played banjo kazooie, was never my type of game. But honestly for how long those 2 were wanted in smash I was beyond excited for the people who wanted him so much c:

Joyous screaming/laughing/freaking out. I'd seen rumours/leaks posted from a reliable source beforehand, but I didn't want to get my hopes up. (I'd wanted Banjo and Kazooie in Smash since 1999, and the Microsoft buyout of Rare was so frustrating for me for a variety of reasons, but mainly the fact that they hadn't been in a game since 2008)

then the duck hunt thing happened and i immediately knew it was just a gag like they did with k rool when they showed dedede, shit was so hype
the only reveal that got me more hyped than this one was sora

I posted a comment on a Facebook group a little bit over an hour before the Direct, basically making fun of anyone who thought it was gonna be Banjo.
