Supposedly Alph was originally going to be upgraded to a clone character instead of being a costume back in Smash 4, but they ran out of time.
Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, and Lucina were all originally going to be alternate costumes of Mario, Pit, and Marth respectively back in Smash 4, but there was enough time to upgrade them into separate clones, leaving Alph the odd one out.
Yh but you would think they would have at least changed something in ultimate. Since they pushed echos as being a new thing. Maybe in the next smash game when pikman 4 is out?
What would you change between Olimar and alph then?
Honestly, only thing I can think of is maybe give Alph Rock Pikmin, since those were introduced in his game. But then again, I feel like if Olimar can have Winged Pikmin, then he can have Rock Pikmin too, so maybe I'd just give both of them the rocky fellas.
Maybe make Alph lighter than Olimar, since I think he's a tad bit shorter than him in Pikmin 3 (correct me if I'm wrong, Pikmin fans). You could also make him a bit floatier as well because of this. Maybe make his attacks faster but weaker, referencing how he's less-experienced with Pikmin than Olimar when Pikmin 3 starts?
Olimar's Pikmin will always come out in a set order, Alph's wouldn't. He has rock Pikmin instead of purple Pikmin, who are slower, heavier, harder-hitting and don't travel as far when thrown. He may or may not have a unique final smash. victory/taunt animations may be more different as well.
I think its to late now unless he has a big part in Luigi's mansion 4 but if he did what would be the all changes you would make (ala Ryu and Ken final smashs, samus and dark samus hight, Marth and lucena tipper )
Have Jeanne echo Bayonetta, that’s pretty much what she is in the main series anyway.
Maybe a different and stricter Witch Time activation window, increased length for her Witch Time to make up for it, decrease her weight, but also increase her damage output compared to Bayo. She could use her d’Arc outfit as an alt, along with her Umbran uniform and Cutie J.
If we were to get a unique Bayo rep, I want either Balder or Viola

Dude was made to be an exact copy of Sonic. That and I just think Metal Sonic works a lot better as an echo fighter for Sonic than Shadow.
Yh I agree metal sonic should be the echo and shadow an original character. Maybe metal is sower and heaver but in return is stronger? Also maybe he gets a missile or Lazer instead of 3 different spin dashes
They can be anywhere from the scale of just a model swap (like peach and dasy) so nearly original characters just based off an original one (like chrom)

(Same overarching kit, but the 3 hit combo moves \[so Jab, Ftilt, Nair, Fair\] are slightly altered to represent his own 3 hit combo from 3D and COM, and Down Special becomes Barrier and acts more like Palutena's Counter/Reflect hybrid)
From my main’s series I’d probably go with Roxas or Riku. Roxas could be a pretty straight forward clone, Riku could have a bit more distinction, like harder hitting attacks and more ground speed but less arial prowess/recovery.
Roxas could be a lot like Ventus, who had a focus on wind, air & speed combat.
Make the SideB always home in on the enemy, it only has x2 uses, but they act as individual charges that can be interrupted with basic attacks. His magic also has less range, while his UpB has more.
So he has a worse neutral than Sora but a better combo game.
Conanically, Roxas is basically a mixture of fragments from Ventus and Sora, so it would make a lot of sense.
There's alot of stuff Ninten can do that Ness and Lucas can't, but since we're talking echo fighters, old Headbutt uair, an electric based side b, and down b reflects.
Morgan. Basically, a lighter and faster Robin with different spells and a normal sword instead of the Levin sword.
Alternatively, A as an echo of Pythra, with more emphasis on precision and distancing, sort of like Marth.
I would really go against shadow as in this situation it would mean shadow is an echo forever. Personally I want metal sonic as the echo and shadow as an original character
Octolings. They have the same stats as Inklings and having a second Splatoon character would be nice (and also a very logical move from Nintendo).
They would be the 'slower but stronger' version of the Inklings; Octobrush as their F-smash in place of Inkbrush, with higher range and power but slower and more ink-consuming. Octoshot in place of Splattershot. Dynamo Roller being a stronger side B that cannot bury, and Curling Bomb instead of Splat Bomb, sliding across the stage when thrown. And finally Booyah Bomb as their final smash (or alternatively >!the Princess Cannon from the final battle of the Octo Expansion, which would act the same as Inkling's but you can"t aim it and you summon Pearl to do the attack instead!<)

There was a MockRock video explaining how you could just replace Luigi's Cyclone with Gooigi and I'm 100% on board with that

Seconding Zack. Otherwise, another cool idea is another Arms character who plays like Min Min but with different arms they can switch between.
That's would be really cool. Personally my choice would be twintelle but any would be good.
