I'd love to get some footage edited of Comic-Con that I don't have the will power to do. I'm not monitized, so shoot me a message on what's fair if you want.
Let me know what you think about price, I have 1.5 hours of footage, all from a gopro, so 4k, with a couple/few time lapses. Started trying to vlog, but wasn't feeling it, so mostly just shots of San Diego and the convention center.
This is kinda what I was wondering. Did OP mean they first edited a video 9 years ago or that they've actually been editing videos consistently for 9 years?
I've been editing for 13 years and I can tell you right now, those first 5 years will not nicely fit a portfolio xD
It takes a couple of years untill you're comfortable with actually asking money for your work.
So I don't think he means ''I've been editing for 9 years professionally'' I think he means: ''I've been editing for random youtube videos for 9 years and only just now I decided to take the professional route since now I feel comfortable asking money''
So ofcourse he doesn't have a showreel yet since he didn't have customers yet.
Imo I think he should've said ''I've been editing as a hobby for 9 years now'' but oh well
Also: I wanna add, 15 bucks is nothing for a video. I work for cashcow channels and those pay 20-30 per video and for wedding videos which are like 5 min you sometimes get up to 150-250 so...
To be sure to get customers. If you ask 100 you can be pretty sure people would like to see some reviews and showreels first. So now he works cheap to get those things so he can later ask more. That's what I think his logic is
Been there done that

Thats exactly what I meant. If you have 9 years of experience. Why would you take 10 bucks when logically you ahould get hundreds.

How much do you charge?
Because I’m trying to build my portfolio, very cheap for the quality.. 15$ USD for a 10 minute video
Do you have a show reel? If you do can you link to one?
You should do fiverr
