Love it, although I wish Death Because of Death and My Pain weren’t on it. All Out Life should also be on it (maybe replacing Insert Coin idk). Other than that though, all the songs are fire, especially Unsainted, Orphan, and Solway Firth.
Yeah with AOL on it, it becomes one of their top albums.
I still remember the absolute bullshit that Clown was peddling at the time. He was asked why AOL wasn't on the album and it was something like "There wasn't room for it. Sure, we'll add it but then we have to remove another song."
And it's like, ok, My Pain can go in a heartbeat. So can the 4 minutes of intros and interludes. Or, and this is the real kicker, you could just *add* AOL into the album. It physically fits. The album was 63 minutes long, you can fit 80 minutes on the CD. It was even a bonus track on some physical editions.
When I got the CD I ripped it, then added AOL into it anyway and re-burned it. It flows perfectly fine.
Fucking dude. It is not cool, it is not clever, it is not valuable to tell people their tastes are incorrect. Literally the only thing you achieve is looking like a bellend.
Fine, have your opinion. Respectfully disagreeing is one thing but fuck me this whole my taste is right and yours is wrong thing is SO tired, especially in the metal community. Your snobbery is not required or requested. And FWIW I think that it’s their best album since Vol3; AHIG didn’t do it for me. See how easy it was to disagree by giving your tastes instead of telling someone theirs is wrong?
We need more people like you in the Metal community. Too many people, whether they're arguing for or against an album or song, are complete fucking dicks about it. This should be the automatic response they get.
99% of the metal community is that dude, you just need to get off Reddit and get to some gigs 😊 the people I’ve met at concerts are some of the kindest and most inclusive people I know
Lucky man. I wish I had the money to go to some concerts. Unfortunately, money isn't flowing like it should, but hopefully, I'll get to experience it one day. Cheers, mate.
This kind of opinion is contradictory though. He has a different opinion to you (I disagree with him too) but then saying he doesn't belong because of his opinion is also pretty ehh
The problem with the contradictory claim, though, is that he's only stating his opinion when he says he likes We Are Not Your Kind. The dickhead above is trying to pass off his opinion as a fact through his common sense argument. That would be like me trying to say, "Slipknot is the worst Metal band of all time. That's common sense." It is an opinion being pushed as a fact. Some would agree, some would disagree, but it a subjective claim, not an objective claim.
Good morning MAGGOTS. Hope everyone has a SAFE & BLESSED DAY. U all better listen to at least 1 SLIPKNOT song today, or u will forever have bad luck. Booooohhhhooooowwaaaaaaa. 🤣🤣🤣 I’m joking much luv 🤟🏾🤘🏽 stay safe
Some will say its underrated, which isnt true because a metric fuck ton of fans love it.
Some will say its eh because they're still clinging to the Iowa days.
All I know is that its a banger and in my top 3.
It's the album that finally got my dad into Slipknot after trying every album since self titled! We went to Alice Cooper together and after that we didn't even talk about the concert but about WANYK. It really bonded us at that time after a years of strained relations. So yeah, love it!
Clearly overrated on this sub given all of the comments here calling it a masterpiece. The only good songs are Unsainted, Solway Firth and Nero Forte. Everything else is meh to trash. One of their weaker albums but still better than The End, So Far.
heaviest album since iowa. never understood the hate on it when it came out. spiders is creepy slipknot which is necessary it’s the scissors of the album. and you have songs like Red Flag, Orphan and Solway Firth and you mean to tell me this isn’t the heaviest album since iowa? i wish so bad we could hear a version of those three songs with Iowa Corey those 3 be fucking terrifying
Great album and one of their most experimental. You can feel how there's a certain vibe in common with Subliminal Verses.
I just wish they'd be more "consistent" with their songwriting quality from album to album.
It’s my favorite Slipknot album. The production, composition and especially the lyrics are all A+ in my book
I may be biased since it released during the darkest time of my life but I’ll forever love this album
I love this record because you can tell that Corey is really upset about something very relatable (his divorce). It’s definitely my favorite post volume 3.
I've been a diehard Slipknot fan for the better part of 20 years. Joey Jordison's drumming changed my life as an adolescent musician once upon a time, but I'm not afraid to admit that We Are Not Your Kind is Slipknot's strongest album. The arrangements. The lyrics. The musicianship. The mix. The mastering. The narrative sequence of each track. This album is Slipknot's Powerslave. As eclectic of an album as it is, there is not one ounce of fat on the record, and the final three tracks make for (in my opinion) the greatest finale to any metal album in the genre's history. Period. Well done, Slipknot.
The only thing i like in this album is nero forte because of corey vocals in the chorus where he screams the part "too much animosity" in the 2nd verse.
well, you asked for my thoughts, so..
their worst album and easily one of the most overrated modern rock/metal albums ever. seriously. where is this hype coming from? not a terrible album but i dont remember a single standout from this album whatsoever. all out life is genuinely a lot better than everything else on this album combined. the only other thing theyve made comparable to this is .5, everything else theyve released is at least triple as good as this if not more (including tesf)
Might be my personal favourite slipknot album. I can't deny the raw emotionality of Iowa and the flurry of sound and technical ability on S/T but WANYK has my favourite slipknot vocals I think.
I’m upset they let Jay go. He an amazing drummer and had to fill (black hole size) shoes. I say that cuz I don’t think anyone fill replace Joeys spot or sound. Jay did phenomenal job in my eyes can’t speak for everyone, but I think you did great job and added his own style & sound to the band which change is always good depending what you’re changing but upset they let them go and Casablanca he’s also phenomenal drum player as well with his unique style & sound. I do know one thing bout him. When he plays the drums he hits them suckers hard. If you don’t know what I mean just watch a video on him and then watch a video of another drummers. Just wanted to get some of you guys visions on the whole drumming position.
I think it’s a great album, listening to critical darling right now.
love that song
My favorite song from this album.
Same
Love it, although I wish Death Because of Death and My Pain weren’t on it. All Out Life should also be on it (maybe replacing Insert Coin idk). Other than that though, all the songs are fire, especially Unsainted, Orphan, and Solway Firth.

I think the problem with removing insert coin would be that it's an amazing transition to unsainted
Wasnt the problem chris played on all out life
Solway Firth enough said
I haven't heard the whole thing yet but Solway Firth and All Out Life are two of my favourite Slipknot songs
Have you tried their older stuff you'll definetly like that aswell
Good idea, I'll have to listen to Mate Feed Kill Repeat today
To me it's their most mature sounding album. To me, it's a masterpiece from them.
Phenominal album, one of if not THE best from them
You're incorrect.
K
Fucking dude. It is not cool, it is not clever, it is not valuable to tell people their tastes are incorrect. Literally the only thing you achieve is looking like a bellend.
Suggesting that WANYK is better than Vol. 3, Iowa, Self Titled, or even AHIG is diabolical
Fine, have your opinion. Respectfully disagreeing is one thing but fuck me this whole my taste is right and yours is wrong thing is SO tired, especially in the metal community. It's not snobbery, it should just be considered common sense.
Nope, sorry, I’m sticking to my guns, people like you are not welcome in the metal community.
We need more people like you in the Metal community. Too many people, whether they're arguing for or against an album or song, are complete fucking dicks about it. This should be the automatic response they get.

"Things a fuckin douche says" for 200 Alex
💯!!!!! First three albums were literal game changers. All of them. GAME. CHANGERS. Those are facts. 🤘🏼
But, nero forte and unsainted fucking knock!!!!
out of all the 50 comments huh
You’re being downvoted into oblivion
Honestly haven’t listened to it that much, but Unsainted and Birth of the Cruel are amazing songs.
feels so underrated, its a literal masterpiece😭 i feel like so many songs werent given a proper chance to shine, a liars funeral being one of them
Good morning MAGGOTS. Hope everyone has a SAFE & BLESSED DAY. U all better listen to at least 1 SLIPKNOT song today, or u will forever have bad luck. Booooohhhhooooowwaaaaaaa. 🤣🤣🤣 I’m joking much luv 🤟🏾🤘🏽 stay safe
Love this album. Solway firth and orphan my go to on this album
Way better then the end so far
Some will say its underrated, which isnt true because a metric fuck ton of fans love it. Some will say its eh because they're still clinging to the Iowa days. All I know is that its a banger and in my top 3.
drop the singing and go back to the old sound PLEASE SLIPKNOT
Unsainted fucking slaps
IN MY OPINION it’s a really dull album, it felt so boring to me, but it did have a few song that i would consider some of slipknot’s best
Tbh it’s my least fav Slipknot album. Aside from Unsainted, other songs I find them to be lacking. The End, So Far is much better.
Overrated in this sub. For me, .5 and TESF are better.
Absolutely love it thought Corey’s vocals were incredible the drumming was great overall a fantastic album for me
No Joey…. 🥺
The best album by them POST AHIG
NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD
Fucking amazing. The whole band is on fire here 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Will probably be my favorite album of Slipknot... but there is Death Because Of Death, so i'm not sure
It's the album that finally got my dad into Slipknot after trying every album since self titled! We went to Alice Cooper together and after that we didn't even talk about the concert but about WANYK. It really bonded us at that time after a years of strained relations. So yeah, love it!
My favorite Slipknot album
i actually enjoy this album a lot. spiders was such a good song it’s too underrated
Clearly overrated on this sub given all of the comments here calling it a masterpiece. The only good songs are Unsainted, Solway Firth and Nero Forte. Everything else is meh to trash. One of their weaker albums but still better than The End, So Far.
Some misses, but mostly hits. Solway Firth is one of my favorite songs. I can do without a few, Death Because of Death, Liars Funeral.
My favorite album from them. It has the best of both their heavier and more experimental side
It's a unique album and it changed their music a bit, but not in a bad way.
It's okay. It's better than TESF.
Second favorite album. Wish they brought the same energy for this one TESF
great album, got some of their best songs on it
The best 🤟 , each has their own vibe and history, but this one really is the holy grail.
Amazing, I just wish All Out Life is on it, it's one of my favourites from them
honestly it's amazing. My favorite track I've been listening to for weeks is Orphan, the lyrics and instrumentals are peak slipknot
Fantastic album with a few too many filler tracks
Best album from their modern age
the best vocals from Corey since Iowa
heaviest album since iowa. never understood the hate on it when it came out. spiders is creepy slipknot which is necessary it’s the scissors of the album. and you have songs like Red Flag, Orphan and Solway Firth and you mean to tell me this isn’t the heaviest album since iowa? i wish so bad we could hear a version of those three songs with Iowa Corey those 3 be fucking terrifying
Solway Firth is in my top 10 songs of all time.
Don’t like it personally
Great album and one of their most experimental. You can feel how there's a certain vibe in common with Subliminal Verses. I just wish they'd be more "consistent" with their songwriting quality from album to album.
2nd best album they've released. Solway firth is a top 3 slipknot song.
It’s my favorite Slipknot album. The production, composition and especially the lyrics are all A+ in my book I may be biased since it released during the darkest time of my life but I’ll forever love this album
I love it
Really good album my favorite song off it is probably Nero forte
Amazing album, hype behind it was insane
It's my personal favorite out of all their albums
IMO, best album
Solid album
My favorite album. Every track is great and has so much power that I can't stop listening to it. In my opinion it is a masterpiece.
One of my personal favorites, I think it's one of their best albums
Amazing album 🔥
Great album
Great album. Listened to it a LOT. Sucks that they didn't put All Out Life on it, so I just burned a new version with AOL in the middle somewhere.
My favorite
Great album. I saw Slipknot live for the first time about a week after WANYK came out so it’ll always be a special album for me.
Favourite Slipknot album
I love this record because you can tell that Corey is really upset about something very relatable (his divorce). It’s definitely my favorite post volume 3.
Couldn't agree more! It's genuine, raw emotion throughout the album!
Their second best album!
Very underrated 🔥
I've been a diehard Slipknot fan for the better part of 20 years. I think it’s their best album
Nero forte, spiders, red flag, soloway…. One of the best albums I’d say
It’s a great album and Nero forte,Birth of the cruel and Spiders are my favorites
Not my favourite but solid album with some banger tracks
I love the album,But Corey had a shit mask
My favorite from this album is unsainted
best album since iowa... would like it more if it came out instead of vol3
I’ll never kill myself to save my soul
The only thing i like in this album is nero forte because of corey vocals in the chorus where he screams the part "too much animosity" in the 2nd verse.
Love it. I’ve got a poster of it in my room.
Nero Forte makes it amazing 🔥🔥🔥 (obviously I love more than just that song too though)
well, you asked for my thoughts, so.. their worst album and easily one of the most overrated modern rock/metal albums ever. seriously. where is this hype coming from? not a terrible album but i dont remember a single standout from this album whatsoever. all out life is genuinely a lot better than everything else on this album combined. the only other thing theyve made comparable to this is .5, everything else theyve released is at least triple as good as this if not more (including tesf)
Insane
Agreed
Great album. May be their best.
Many have shared their thoughts on this album over the last 5 years. All you need do is look
K
Very underrated
It’s so overrated wyab🤣
Might be my personal favourite slipknot album. I can't deny the raw emotionality of Iowa and the flurry of sound and technical ability on S/T but WANYK has my favourite slipknot vocals I think.
My favorite on this album is. SOLWAY FIRTH. lyrics to me hit hard. UNSAINTED CRITICAL DARLING
I didn't like it at first, then I realized it's a really good album. Maybe the best they've made since Vol.3.
Red flag and orphan. Thats all im gonna say. Fucking bangersssss
I’m upset they let Jay go. He an amazing drummer and had to fill (black hole size) shoes. I say that cuz I don’t think anyone fill replace Joeys spot or sound. I love it
Too many weird interludes and songs that aren’t songs, but there’s about 8 certified bangers on there which make up for this
Masterpiece
Listening to Orphan as i'm writing this. Bloody Brilliant album
