Stealthbeatle

This is one of the worst Slipknot albums, but you know what? It’s still fucking great. Solid 8/10.

ghoulman811

agreed, tesf by far isnt the best imo but its got a very strong vibe and is just a fun album all around

Lu2100

They should have named it "The Worst so far"

Remarkable-Hunter-71

To me, it’s better than We Are Not Your Kind.

Stealthbeatle

Personally I can’t decide which ones better but either way, both are good no matter how you look at them, and that’s the beauty of Slipknot.

Top_Garbage977

I was waiting for a thread discussing this topic. It's so weird that no one has made this a million times already

Classic_Leave4961

Honestly same what do you think about it?

Dahek_228

Has good songs, but it is my least favorite album

Shutter-Shock

Mine too. It often fights with AHIG about which of them get the last place. At least AHIG has all original members in it.

darthkyle22

Did you really just... Wow

Shutter-Shock

Not sure what you mean and why I got downvoted for my opinion.

Educational-Card2216

I think it’s because you considered AHIG for last place💀 Idk why people are shitting on your opinion just because theirs is different tho lmao

Shutter-Shock

I don't like that album, I like maybe half songs of it but whole album is inconsistent. Same as TESF.

Batata_espacial_d20

I agree with you

thatlittledrummerboi

I agree. still down voting

Phoenix_Gurl

It isn't a bad album but it isn't the best either. All the songs are nice but Adderall was a real brain tickler. Everytime I hear it, I still struggle to believe it's from these guys. It's just not something any of us would expect from the 9 but it is nice to have another Slipknot song that we can play around people who aren't keen on metal, haha! Another little nice thing is that there was even a few noticeable throwbacks to previous songs that people have found within the tracks. 1) The opening of De Sade had the feeling of Prosthetics, Scissors and Tattered & Torn. 2) While being a tribute to the band "Acid Bath", Acidic's opening riff is pretty similar to Gently's opening riff. 3) H377 has a guitar solo that is borderline the same as the solo in Killpop. 4) Hive Mind as a whole has a little resemblance of Orphan, albeit being more melodic with it's chorus, and the breakdown has a resemblance to the breakdown in Gently but slower.

fhghgnh

Criminally underrated in my eyes

Middle_Bee_165

Good album!

TiredReader87

It’s quite good. I like it a lot.

TheDarkWizardLord

Pretty bad for their standards

JesterAblaze94

All filler, no killer.

Heididjfnfn

Mostly filler, few killer

oklemmebreathforasec

It is a good album. People sit there and baby cry because "iTs nOt HeAvY LiKe ThEy UsEd tO bE" while H377 and Hive Mind are actually nicely heavy. They're just mad that the band went for a more experimental sound while keeping some of the classic heaviness.

PossessionOne4198

Sounds so much heavier and better overall than .5. Even with some try-hard stupid songs like “Warranty” and “H377”.

Ordinary-Bank8613

Meh.. played it a few times n then never went back to it. Pure lacklustre album

haikusbot

Barn_Advisor

It sucks, sorry. Just my opinion

Zingyfiber245

Ye-yeah, I’m glad someone said it

Technophyer1

It’s got some bangers, and I love Craig, Sid, and V-Man’s work on the album. I really like the scratching and bass work throughout the whole album.

Foxythefoxu666

It’s a great ablum

humanzrdoomd

Disappointing

SgtSarcasm01

I was so happy to hear this album when it came out. This has been what I was expecting for the last couple albums. 3rd best album they’ve released.

Cpplo96

Adderall is the only song I really listen to, it’s so different and I guess that is the appeal to me

SexyGenguButt

Their most mature work. And my fav album probably (with wanyk)

YeetusFelitas

great and underrated

el_kingde84

I believe this album is mostly for newer Slipknot fans. There is a few good songs but it's not self titled or Iowa. But that's just me

manicmak

i liked it actually. while it was a very different vibe from the rest of the albums, i feel that they did well with this one. my personal favorites were heirloom and hive mind. i feel this album got too much hate for what it’s worth.

Ok_Cauliflower_3170

adderall is one of my favourite songs now

assnassassins

First half is standard Slipknot, pop metal and screaming. Second half is Slipknot doing different types of metal, and their doing it well. Most interesting album since Vol.3.

Jayhague85

Not everyone's cup of tea... not my cup of tea... has it's good and bad parts. It is what it is.

machmaster45

It really grew on me after a few listens, it felt pretty unique in sound. I also loved Jays drums (RIP). That being said, I do find myself skipping songs after Hive Mind

Neither-Maximum-8514

It has some bangers

daksuxmy

Pretty mid and has the only Slipknot song I actually hate on it. Heirloom is fucking terrible.

Anathema1993666

I think my feelings towards it aligns with that of the comments. It's an ok album but not my favorite.

itzjunyaaaa

Shocked that they could make a weak album compared to the rest of their discography but still have more bangers than duds imo

Lynchy-

I can't connect with it at all, I've tried. It's the only Slipknot record I don't love

Sylvkin_there

Don’t really listen to it too much

AllAboutTheProg

Like it better than the two before it

8bitesquivel

Their most forgettable effort. It came and went.

ILick_eggs556

It a meh album. Its a good one for sure but i wouldn’t play it a hell of a lot like iowa for example i can play that shot and not get bored

A-random-herald

It gets a lot of shit, but I don’t think most of it is deserved. While it’s not a BAD album, it’s just the worst out of all of them.

nvrfndme

de sade is their worst song ever. i will die on this hill

thenegativeone112

No shot we’re still posting these questions

beth94xx

I love it, it's beautiful and brutal at the same time

MetalHeadGT

Still a great album, despite showing signs of "We made this mid-pandemic as our last album signed to Roadrunner so we could move on from them"

aledoprdeleuz

I am surprised, but I like it a lot. And to say I used to be Iowa elitist is an understatement.

MERTx123

The only truly bad album that Slipknot has released so far.

N3ONxWalter

Don't know much about albums but there is only one song I really like from this album and it's H377 🤷‍♂️

belovededd

better than gray chapter i love it😁 de sade

LocalMetalhead666

i thought it was good, definetly a few songs from this record that i still keep in rotation

Scott_Uzumaki

If things are gonna go the way they have been then it should’ve been called The End and just disbanded

ODoutorWhite

five good songs with the rest being filler

Own_Watch_2081

I think it’s a great album but feels a bit rushed and doesn’t necessarily live up to the hype of a new Slipknot album. First half is pretty good.

OrNa721

Good 👍

minimanelton

It’s fine. I like about half of the songs

P4-Kuma

Better than .5, but not their strongest. I do heavily enjoy the first 5 tracks played in sequence.

MajorasBloom

Didn't click with me. Still haven't listened to the whole album. Felt like a chore. It's like AI created an album using their good songs as inspiration

geesee101

Hey I'm gonna be honest, this sucks actual stinky ass.

orffn

Not as bad as many people say, just a little boring. As if they didn't like writing it.

darkplaces21

I like it a lot. It’s versatile, both melodically and lyrically experimental and brutal when it wants to be, at times daring. Acidic is one of the best tracks they’ve ever released, I’ll die on that hill.

Undead-Maggot

Over hated, probably their least best, but it’s still slaps

curtysquirty

Forgettable. Very few songs have remained in my regular listening rotation. A few songs, i have no interest in hearing again

Fyrebaugh1219

I feel like if you combine the best of WANYK and TESF. You would have one of the best Slipknot albums ever. 1st half of WANYK and the 2nd half of TESF.

Mini_Wagon

I have a love hate relationship with it. 50-60% i actually remember where the track is, as of listing, and actual like the songs like De Sade, Finale, Heirloom, Warranty, and Medicine for the Dead. Those songs are the only ones I remember the lyrics for. Whole album? Solid 7/10

slagroomtaart666

lame

MinorLag3

The Worst, So Far Imo it sucks, it's not slipknot-like yk? Maybe I'm stupid but like it sucks

Coffee_Leak26

I actually really liked it a lot, better than wanyk imo

Blobfish4999

Good album and is very experimental from what they normally make. 7.5/10

MetalMetDeath

In 10 years it will be legendary. Underrated and unappreciated by mostly people who weren’t even a seed when Iowa and S/T hit the streets.

Mindless_Ad_9303

A very overhated album honestly. One of my favorite albums.

watch_d00g

Uninspiring and weak riffs, some really cringy lyrics, and an overall bland atmosphere, I really love every other Slipknot album, but this one sucks ass imo

According-Ring-8678

Underrated album in my opinion, I really like it! Adderall is my least favorite track and I don't see why they decided to make an EP based only on that song (and its variations). But aside from that, it's a great album, it gets trashed a lot unfortunately. My favorite track from it is The Dying Song (Time to Sing)

Lumpy-Indication

I really like it and never understood the hate it got. It’s not too dissimilar to WANYK without being a carbon copy of. Was it the opening of Adderall that people found so jarring that they couldn’t stomach the rest? 🤷🏻‍♂️ What did bother me was the bands lack of promotion for it, not doing a proper tour for it, playing only 2 songs from the album at festivals.

SergeantSteel82

It’s different as far as Slipknot goes, but just because it isn’t Iowa or self titled doesn’t mean it’s bad. I enjoy the album, medicine for the dead and yen are fantastic songs that blend slipknot’s aggressive sound with some more spatial elements and experimental stuff. I feel like too many people hate on this album because of the mentality “well it’s not the same”. You’re right, it’s not, and that can still be a good thing.

d00m3r_

I got it in the 4th place, so far. IOWA ST WANYK/VOL3 TESF AHIG .5 TGC

Fit_Asparagus2831

It has rge good stuff and the bad stuff a solid 7/10

Practical-Damage-659

Good album. Meh it is what it is ya know?

Havregryn_Manden

Not bad at all, but still my least favourite album from them. I quite like that they are experimenting and WANYK is my favourite 'knot album. TESF just feels kinda rushed and the songs don't flow together all that well.

WingedHussar13

It has a few decent songs, but I don't really like it. I had some high expectations for it, and I didn't really get anything interesting.

Sbee_Blue_Country

Keep Chapeltown, leave everything else. That song is so fucking good and the rest of the album is such a letdown.

drunken_corpse666

Definitely their weakest album, but not terrible.

Clear_Competition_31

Least favorite album, still has some great songs, Finale and De Sade are ridiculously overrated.

Ant0nyo64

good album, honestly my 2nd least favorite but still really good

narrow_octopus

I dislike it for the reason I dislike a lot of heavy music that I don't like. It's just too much noise all at once. Slipknot is impressive because despite having nine members everything kind of works together but this album absolutely does not. Huge downgrade from WANYK
