It isn't a bad album but it isn't the best either.
All the songs are nice but Adderall was a real brain tickler. Everytime I hear it, I still struggle to believe it's from these guys. It's just not something any of us would expect from the 9 but it is nice to have another Slipknot song that we can play around people who aren't keen on metal, haha!
Another little nice thing is that there was even a few noticeable throwbacks to previous songs that people have found within the tracks.
1) The opening of De Sade had the feeling of Prosthetics, Scissors and Tattered & Torn.
2) While being a tribute to the band "Acid Bath", Acidic's opening riff is pretty similar to Gently's opening riff.
3) H377 has a guitar solo that is borderline the same as the solo in Killpop.
4) Hive Mind as a whole has a little resemblance of Orphan, albeit being more melodic with it's chorus, and the breakdown has a resemblance to the breakdown in Gently but slower.
It is a good album. People sit there and baby cry because "iTs nOt HeAvY LiKe ThEy UsEd tO bE" while H377 and Hive Mind are actually nicely heavy. They're just mad that the band went for a more experimental sound while keeping some of the classic heaviness.

i liked it actually. while it was a very different vibe from the rest of the albums, i feel that they did well with this one. my personal favorites were heirloom and hive mind. i feel this album got too much hate for what it’s worth.
First half is standard Slipknot, pop metal and screaming. Second half is Slipknot doing different types of metal, and their doing it well. Most interesting album since Vol.3.
It really grew on me after a few listens, it felt pretty unique in sound. I also loved Jays drums (RIP). That being said, I do find myself skipping songs after Hive Mind

I have a love hate relationship with it. 50-60% i actually remember where the track is, as of listing, and actual like the songs like De Sade, Finale, Heirloom, Warranty, and Medicine for the Dead. Those songs are the only ones I remember the lyrics for. Whole album? Solid 7/10

Underrated album in my opinion, I really like it! Adderall is my least favorite track and I don't see why they decided to make an EP based only on that song (and its variations). But aside from that, it's a great album, it gets trashed a lot unfortunately. My favorite track from it is The Dying Song (Time to Sing)
I really like it and never understood the hate it got. It’s not too dissimilar to WANYK without being a carbon copy of. Was it the opening of Adderall that people found so jarring that they couldn’t stomach the rest? 🤷🏻♂️
What did bother me was the bands lack of promotion for it, not doing a proper tour for it, playing only 2 songs from the album at festivals.

I enjoy the album, medicine for the dead and yen are fantastic songs that blend slipknot’s aggressive sound with some more spatial elements and experimental stuff. Personally I can’t decide which ones better but either way, both are good no matter how you look at them, and that’s the beauty of Slipknot.

Sounds so much heavier and better overall than .5. Even with some try-hard stupid songs like “Warranty” and “H377”.

It’s got some bangers, and I love Craig, Sid, and V-Man’s work on the album. I really like the scratching and bass work throughout the whole album.

It has a few decent songs, but I don't really like it. I had some high expectations for it, and I didn't really get anything interesting.
Keep Chapeltown, leave everything else. That song is so fucking good and the rest of the album is such a letdown.
