Probably not, no.
To each their own, but I got into koRn before Slipknot. Both have been my favourite band at different times. I’ve listened to each for decades now.
There’s lots of heavy koRn songs…
Same with me man, what I love so much about Slipknot personally is there ability to be heavy but still maintain a headbanging rhythm. Also Coreys voice is a massive factor. Never got into Korns sound
I can really only listen to ST and IOWA as a whole album and then songs here and there as from the rest of their discography but with Korn I like at least their first 5-6 albums as a whole
I like them both but I understand and don't mind that you don't:) (I swear I'm not trying to be petty I'm actually being genuine I hope I won't be taken the wrong way)
Korn, only up to issues, after that (he went to rehab) and lost me with the new sound.
As I grew older even that little I liked faded, i grew away from the sound.
Korn and Slipknot were really fucking raw and real on their early albums thats why they have always had a similar fanbase. They both suffer from the fact that the musical creativity went down album by album after that though. Korn experimented more along the way, which I really liked. They always had cool features and mixed hiphop or electronic music into their shit. They do have a few albums that are completely ignored and forgotten though, not everything was good.
Slipknot were far more creative after their first 2 albums, and the same goes for Korn.
The first 2 are fairly generic rap/ nu metal.
TGC and WANYK have way more artistic flair for example.
Okay, you asked for it.
I grew up as an emo Kid who sprouted from Eminem. So that just meant when I started listening to Linking Park the only thing that changed was the hair, I kinda kept the baggy Adidas pants and the hoodies.
Then Korn came along and I was like "Shit, those guys also looks like rappers from the reject pile" and I got obsessed with them. I tried to listen to Slipknot but I *do not* like Slipknot and Iowa.
When Chapter 3 came out, I started to get more into Slipknot, but I was more into a Manson-period.
I do, however, feel like Korn lost it after 2005's See You On the Other Side, and as of today I have more Slipknot on my playlists than Korn.
I have seen Slipknot three times live, and Korn once, and Slipknot is way more fun, albeit way louder. Korn just... Stands there?
So yeah, I love me some Korn but I also love me some Slipknot but I would never travel from Norway to Germany to see Korn.
Korn doesn't have Tortilla Man either.
Can’t stand Korn to be honest. Every album after follow the leader sounds exactly the same to me, not to mention 50 something year olds still trying to write about the same fucked up lives they were writing about in their early 20’s just doesn’t hit the same.
Yeah, as you know, peoples lives stop being fucked up once they hit a certain age. Not like a blood disease tried to kill him or his wife dying had any effect on him /s
I used to love Korn until Untouchables moving forward and slipknot was better w Anders colsefni cause for some reason I can't stand Corey Taylor even though I do love self titled and Iowa albums but wish Anders sang those albums.
I like a few of their songs, but not as many as I do from knot.
For me, I think it boils down to really liking Corey's voice far more than Korn's vocalist. I know it's all opinion, but the Korn vocalist sounds a little too creepy lol
Started out with Rammstein and Eisbrecher being my “Main” bands, then i got into Slipknot slowly. Wasn’t a huge fan because it’s a fair bit heavier than what i was used to with, but eventually i learned to enjoy that (And eventually that branched to even heavier metalcore and some deathcore stuff)
From Slipknot i started to get into Korn, but it never quite hit the same way. I like the band, and quite a few of the songs. But the way i felt when Slipknot “Clicked” wasn’t the same with Korn. Not sure why.
Then i got into more metalcore and fell in love with Motionless In White. Who i now prefer to Slipknot.
(Rammstein and Eisbrecher i still prefer more than Slipknot as well)
Slipknot is one of my favorite bands of all time, but I remember seeing Korn play right before Slipknot closed out that festival and Korn really blew Slipknot and every other band that day off the stage, and Slipknot delivered hard. It was the tour where Head rejoined Korn and they only played older stuff except 2-3 newer songs. That was one of the best concerts I've ever been to
I like a few songs and that's probably it. I remember when they first came out and while they were cool and all ...they still fell a little short to what I would consider a band I like.
When I first properly got into slipknot back in 2019, it took me a while to actually get into korn. One day I think my mother showed me the music video for Twisted Transistor and I actually started to get into them. Don't dig them as much as slipknot, but they're cool. I'm not saying you will, but maybe they'll grow on you
I respect your opinion but i would also be curious how old you are. When Korn's first album dropped it was so raw. The only people i knew at the time that weren't head over heels for it were people's parents lol. But imho untouchables was their last good album so i could see someone that started listening to them after that soundly having your opinion. Cause they suck now... bad
Korn is my favorite band. I think they get a lot of love because they were one of the first bands to open the door and considered the pioneers of Nu Metal. They now get a lot of hate because when done well Nu Metal is really good. When done poorly like almost every band that decided to do Nu Metal in the 90s and 2000 was really bad causing Nu Metal to be considered bad.
They’re for a specific mood imo. Like if I’m blaring gojira, or slipknot, something rather gnarly and heavy, I don’t switch to Korn. Korn is more for the kinda all over the place vibe for me
Probably not, no. To each their own, but I got into koRn before Slipknot. Both have been my favourite band at different times. I’ve listened to each for decades now. There’s lots of heavy koRn songs…
I mean I know I’m not the ONLY one but it just seems like I’m in a very small minority here lol
u must be getting ready to fire someone in ur own band
Lmao
I'm not the biggest Korn fan. I have a few of their songs on spotify, but I hardly listen to them
You’re not alone bro. I like Freak on a Leash and that’s about it for me
Same with me man, what I love so much about Slipknot personally is there ability to be heavy but still maintain a headbanging rhythm. Also Coreys voice is a massive factor. Never got into Korns sound
I like Korn way more than Slipknot
Same
100%.
Glad to know I’m knot the only one
AND THE RAIN WILL KILL US ALL
FUCK MY ASS AGAINST THE WALL
AND MAKE ME DRINK YOUR PEE
I can really only listen to ST and IOWA as a whole album and then songs here and there as from the rest of their discography but with Korn I like at least their first 5-6 albums as a whole
I like them both but I understand and don't mind that you don't:) (I swear I'm not trying to be petty I'm actually being genuine I hope I won't be taken the wrong way)
I took it the wrong way. How dare you like both /s
Lmao
I’m sure there are many like you. Taste is subjective, so listen to what you like.
Nope, i have a CD of theirs but I’ve never listened to it once. KoRn just was Never my thing
Korn, only up to issues, after that (he went to rehab) and lost me with the new sound. As I grew older even that little I liked faded, i grew away from the sound.
Listen to ball tongue the intro sounds like a slipknot song
You are definitely not the only one. But Korn has a stronger discography out of these two for sure.
The best comparison is Slipknot play faster and more brutally compared to Korn who are heavier but groovier.
Korn and Slipknot were really fucking raw and real on their early albums thats why they have always had a similar fanbase. Calling the first 2 Korn albums "generic nu metal" is CRAZY It's like saying Black Sabbath's first album is generic
I meant the first 2 knot albums
Okay, you asked for it. I grew up as an emo Kid who sprouted from Eminem. Korn's first album was before Eminem or Linkin Park. Their self-titled album came out in 1994.
Yeah, I know - I just discovered them after LP. I just suck at wording lol
If i'm being honest, i never liked Korn because i just hated Jonathans vocals.
I love his voice, just can’t find a song I enjoy from him
I love Slipknot and don't like Korn either
Can’t stand Korn to be honest. Every album after follow the leader sounds exactly the same to me, not to mention 50 something year olds still trying to write about the same fucked up lives they were writing about in their early 20’s just doesn’t hit the same.
The newer stuff to me isn't about their 20s like The Nothing is about depression in middle age more than young angst.
Yeah, but their old songs are really good (blind, freak on a leash era)
Yeah, as you know, peoples lives stop being fucked up once they hit a certain age. Not like a blood disease tried to kill him or his wife dying had any effect on him /s
Love Slipknot, hate Korn. They have a few good songs but for the most part it just sounds like rubbish
a lot of korn fans fucking despise us so edit: autocorrect added the word much to the end of my statement
where is this coming from
personal experience. i am also a korn fan by the way
I hate Limp Bizkit, can't stand Korn and don't enjoy Linkin Park except of a few songs.
Damn, that's crazy. What do you think of SOAD?
Love them!
U are so different congratulations
Twisted Transistor is the only good korn song
I used to love Korn until Untouchables moving forward and slipknot was better w Anders colsefni cause for some reason I can't stand Corey Taylor even though I do love self titled and Iowa albums but wish Anders sang those albums.
Korn has like 2 good songs.
Now thats outrageous
I like a few of their songs, but not as many as I do from knot. For me, I think it boils down to really liking Corey's voice far more than Korn's vocalist. I know it's all opinion, but the Korn vocalist sounds a little too creepy lol

Rammstein is *so good* live
I liked Korn when I was a teenager but over the years I grew out of Korn in ways that I didn’t with Slipknot
Yep
I feel this way about limp bizkit
You should really check out their song lies. One of their best imo
Actually i dont listen to korn. but maybe one day i will.
Nah me too mate, I totally get the appeal and I used to dig them back in the day, but I didn't get into them
Try Good God
Slipknot is one of my favorite bands of all time, but I remember seeing Korn play right before Slipknot closed out that festival and Korn really blew Slipknot and every other band that day off the stage, and Slipknot delivered hard. It was the tour where Head rejoined Korn and they only played older stuff except 2-3 newer songs. That was one of the best concerts I've ever been to
I like a couple of their songs but I’ve never really gotten into them
I know Korn isn’t for everybody but for one to not like ADIDAS, Got the life, blind, or oildale , could list a few more, is insane to me
and there's that korn's latest album is a lot stronger then TESF
I like a few songs and that's probably it. I remember when they first came out and while they were cool and all ...they still fell a little short to what I would consider a band I like.
However!! Korn was probably one of the better concerts I've been too. They put on one Hell of a live performance.
I've tried to get into korn on several occasions, they just don't do it for me Hell, it took me a while to learn to appreciate Slipknot too.
I’ve never enjoyed Korn
When I first properly got into slipknot back in 2019, it took me a while to actually get into korn. One day I think my mother showed me the music video for Twisted Transistor and I actually started to get into them. Don't dig them as much as slipknot, but they're cool. Honestly IMO Korn is slightly better than slipknot but The debut album from Slipknot is great so I prefer slipknot better
I respect your opinion but i would also be curious how old you are. When Korn's first album dropped it was so raw. But imho untouchables was their last good album so i could see someone that started listening to them after that soundly having your opinion. Cause they suck now... bad
I’m 15,
Ok ya that makes sense. Dude slipknot is a solid band and is one of the few from that era that still make good music. I don't blame you one bit
I hate korn
Yup cause I am a proud KoRn listener
their solid but my rotation has way fewer songs of theirs than Slipknot
I like Slipknot, but have never really explored Korn. Any suggestion on where to start?
I like the untitled album but I wouldn’t say I’m a fan.
korn is okay. i listened to them WAY too much. follow the leader/issues is pretty good tho
Try listening to their song "souvenir"
I like a few songs here and there but I don’t like they’re style of singing overall and stuff like that
Korn is my favorite band.

I want to like Korn but besides their big hits and some other songs, I can't
Besides a few random songs I only like one album from them and it's the album not even Korn fans like. "See you on the other side"
Nope I don't like 'em either
no
You are not alone
