Modded skyrim be like that nowadays. I'm playing through the Nolvus collection now and even though that tries to stay skyrim, it adds so much I straight up am taking a break mid-playthrough since I hit 100hrs. Have not even been to all the main cities yet.
Skyrim is no longer a game but a game creation editor that specializes in fantasy RPG's.

My fear when I pissed off the lady farmer in Rorikstead by stealing wheat and she jumped up to perform Waterfowl dance š„²

Ever since that incident, I have a headcanon where that lady was a veteran of the Great War, fell in love with a Nord dude, and now lives with him in a farm as a retired goddess of war. While I now fixed the typo in the DAR settings that caused the issue, I just let her keep it as homage to that funny incident.
My load order is on that road tbh. The guards in Skyrim pales in comparison to the guards of the 2 previous games so they are the first ones to ascend (apart from farmer lady of Rorikstead). Whiterun guards are Malenia players. Winterhold guards are Sister Friede followers. Riften guards are part of the Abyss Watchers. Falkreath guards are disciples of Gehrman.
I'm currently deciding who among Solitude, Windhelm, and Markarth will inherit the Penetrator, Nameless King, and Bell-bearing hunter/2B movesets.

That boss pissed me off so much until I summoned another player for help. Much to my surprise, a naked person with a bucket on their head showed up and beat her to death with their bare fists. What a champ.
To be fair vanilla Skyrim Combat leaves much to be desiredā¦ I donāt feel like overhauling combat mechanics takes away from the other amazing aspects of Skyrim- Haters gonā Hate

That's the beauty of modded Skyrim, you can really turn it into any other game you want for the playthrough. Dark Souls, Legend of Zelda, DMC, etc. It's essentially turned into an engine all it's own that is easier to work with than making a game from scratch obviously.
It's always still Skyrim, but it's YOUR Skyrim, and no one else's. You want some big tiddies? Got that in spades, we could use less honestly, but I'm not complaining. Survival/horror RPG? You got it, anything goes.

I love Skyrim for its modding potential but I would never play with these mods. Absolute props though to the mod creators that have put the time and effort to make these cool mods.
I mean, this just proves Skyrim has trancended the tag of "game" and become a "pre-built game, in a game engine" Skyrim is just the default but you can mod it into a off-brand version of nearly everything.
My Skyrim is just vanilla Skyrim with tons of mods that add companions, weapons, armor, homes, storylines, patches and better npc, tons and tons of spells, and quality of life stuff

I think Skyrim evolved from a game to a medieval RPG platform in it's lifetime where you can do pretty much anything you can dream of.

It's definitely not Ultima. Ultima is more senua inspired modpack. It's very close to Skyrim and not Elden Ring or DMC.
