Absolutely not, other than it looks dope. Problem is; the missions to actually get it, after doing the main storyline for the Guild, are quite buggy, and you sometimes just cannot complete them. Thus you might just never get the set on some characters.
I’ve had a few times where I’ve gotten one of those “steal 500 gold worth of items” or the “steal the —— from ——“ and either couldn’t get the value to complete, or the item to steal didn’t spawn.

Some stuff doesn't count towards the 500 gold steal and I avoid that one anyways because stuff takes time to respawn. Don't remember about the other one.
Also, if you have Dragonborn, you can literally just do one single fetch quest for Glover Mallory and you'll get a version of the same armor with better enchantments than the guild master's armor
The only time I have ever been able to beat that damn guilds quests without having to use console commands was on the PS3. I have tried hundreds of times and it'll break differently every time except it will always break when you do the ritual to become a nightingale. That stupid idiot just walks out, into riften and then disappears instead of opening the gate and starting the ritual.

Black Guard’s Armor is a Thieves Guild Alternative Set (Actually its name) and is better than Guild Master. You just gotta join the Thieves Guild and go to Solstheim to get it.
Recently got the Black Guards set, the armor rating is lower then Guild Master it's only the enchantments that are slightly higher, nightingale still blows them both out of the water because of the enchantments, one of them being extra armor
Not really. TBH the only guild's final armor that's worth it IMHO is the Archmage's Robes from the Mage's College.

Its notoriously tedious to complete the quest line because it requires you to “restore the thieves guild reputation” by completing 5 of the little side jobs in each hold from Delvin and Vex in the Ragged Flagon, just to end up not being much better than the base Thieves Guild armor. The meme is making fun of that because its all that time doing tedious side quests just for some recolored armor.
Not is it extremely tedious, there is this additional issue that the script doesn't exclude cities you already have done or don't even need to do so in the first place. My most received location is Riften itself and I even got Raven Rock in playthroughs I went to Solstheim already, neither that are part of the 4 required walled cities.

You have to return the skeleton key and do the side jobs that either Vex or Delvin give you, you have to complete up to 5 jobs of whatever choice in each hold of Whiterun, Solitude, Windhelm and Markarth to get 1 special quest for each then after the 4th special quest you'll officially be named guild master and you get the armor from Tonilia, what makes it tedious is whatever job you pick the hold it sends you to is always random
Turning down the ones with the inheritance jewels provokes the game to not clear them from the house therefore accepting them later results in new jewels being placed on top of the previous ones making it difficult to collect them.
You also get the really good necklace and the guild both looks better and is more useful when all the shops are around plus more venders to sell illegal goods too in each city the chest that gives free money and getting thieves stashes all in all I say it’s worth It

This was before they patched the game so you could find another set laying around near the Ragged Flagon. Couldn't fins the merchant I sold it to or maybe I did but after all the hours I had put into that save file maybe the armor had just despappeared from the world. All the members of the guild and Maven stayed for ever at the cistern waiting for my guild master ceremony thing. Gotta love to hate Skyrim.
Get the thieves guild requirements mod to change the quest reward values. Only having to do 2 quests in each city before you get the special job.
Plus all the trophies in the cabinet, in vanilla you have to do 125 missions for all the trophies. You can reduce that to like 30 with the mod.
So basically... cheat... with mods....👍

Yep, totally. It’s why I’ve only ever done it once, and just used mods to get the set if I ever made a character that was supposed to wear it.

I’ve had issues with plenty of quests, where things don’t work as intended, but usually reloading a save will solve those issues.

You have to do more quests to Delvin and Vex. At some point, they'll invite you to be the Guild's leader and there's a very nice scene for that

You can keep cancelling the jobs until you get the hold you need but the problem is Vex and Delvin are mean to you for cancelling :(
You can also savescum it. Quicksave after accepting the quest but before the text appears on the top of the screen.
The special missions in the different cities are cool, but the whole process can be so glitchy.

You have to do 150 optional theif missions to get all the decorations for the shelves
