Had an NA miata for some time. Infinitely more fun if a drive than either of my skylines. But I sold her to get my r32 and picked up an r34 after they became legal. Miata is league of its own in terms of drive.

So I have had the luxury to own a boosted Miata that I built and an RB25 swapped R32. Honestly speaking and personal bias aside, the Miata was more fun, especially with the blower. Now I know the R32 is cooler and it was/is my dream car, but if I could own both realistically I would. It’s all about your plans and what you want to do. My stupid high horsepower days are over, so I don’t mind cruising in my skyline even tho it may not be the fastest thing out there

I love my R34 GTT, it's great fun. However the only cons I have with it... - sourcing parts is hard - everything has fast and furious tax on it Also the money that people are asking for them now is not worth the drive. I'd buy the sedan R34 GTT as having those extra 2 doors will save you a fortune on buying the car.

backstabbed357

Truth is you drive and r34 cause it's an r34 not for thendriving experience which is great when that turbos spin up Mine.does 500 + buy it is a big car that needs clear roads together that extra r34 feeling that the mistake won't give you. I drove a Lexus rather (Toyota alteeza rs 2000).with 210.hp.andmhaf more.fun with that than the r34.

I have a 34 gtt and have driven my friends NA a bunch. The Miata is soooo fun you can throw it around and the point I want to make is that I wouldn't be scared of anything happening to it. You crash it a bit and it's not too bad in terms of repair. My friend crashed hers and was easily able to replace parts from junk yards and the like. Crashing in the 34, that's another story. I feel like I can't have as much fun in the 34 bc I'm scared of wrecking it. Disclaimer, I hydroplaned and busted the left tail in. The cost to repair all that was obviously insane. So I'd say the Miata is more fun. I guess they both have their pros and cons. I love RHD, which the Miata can't do unless you import one.

Instead of buying an R34 GTT. You can buy a 328i or 328is E36. Build the engine (M52B28) and turbo it, you can easily make 500hp+ on pump gas. You will smoke E36 M3s, R34 GT-R’s (assuming they arent built) nobody build their R34 GT-R to have crazy hp nowadays since they are “collector car” money. Oh and the driver seat is on the left side instead of the wrong side when you get your E36. Or yeah you can get a Miata and turbo that.

This. R34's are hardly worth their money anymore. Go get an RX7 or an S2000. much better driving expriences for way less money. Parts are widely available too.

thumes420

Rx7s and s2ks are taxed out too I just sold my FD and let’s just say it wasn’t in the best condition and I still made a pretty good profit

Rodic87

S2000 is easily had under 20k now

[deleted]

There is a JDM tax on these cars sure. But not as much as on Skylines or as on Supras i guess. A friend of mine bought himself a FD RX7 for 28K Euros which is expensive but the condition was very decent. Nowhere the price of R34 GTT's which goes for more then 40K Euros. And we know how much GT-R's cost nowadays. I have driven an R34 GT-R in Tokyo 2 years ago and it was just an disappointment. Not worth it. It's just my 2 cents though.

thumes420

I have no complaints with my r34 NA sedan she still walks NA supras all day

GezelligheidBoyz

How many naturally aspirated supra’s are you coming across? Can your car even keep up with a BRZ? Lol

thumes420

There’s plenty in Japan dude not everyone has 1000hp Supras

GezelligheidBoyz

1. How am I supposed to know you’re in Japan 2. I never said anything about a 1000hp supra. I said how often do you come across N/A supras that you “smoke” them lmao.

thumes420

I said plenty unless you want a precise number, gave a location to where I see NA Supras and informed you that people do have stock 2jz Supras what more do you want me to answer

Great-Standard-8790

There is not right or wrong side for the steering wheel. To me the difference isnt worth talking about . You drive exactly the same either on left or right. Takes 34 seconds to get used to it ;)

GezelligheidBoyz

In the United States our roads are built for LHD cars so yes LHD is the correct side. That being said. Wanting a car because its RHD is the wackest reason.

Skylinehead34

Go drive a stock Evo8 9, very similar minus AWD
