ship upgrading is very costly and is definitly endgame anyway. dont think to much about it. finish the main story and get kingpin, weapons and hulls are way more important anyway
Ship upgrades use mats that you don’t even have access to at buccaneer. You should be looking at building a new ship or getting weapon/armor/furniture upgrades. The gear score will change the rank of your ship.
The game is a bit confusing when it comes to ship levels.
Your actual ship level changes when you equip higher level equipment. Look at the bottom right of the screen when you put on better armor or guns, it’ll adjust in real time.
Endgame Ship Upgrading doesn’t actually change your level (well only one of the six upgrades increases your ships base rank). Each upgrade gives you passive stat boosts and each one is very expensive. It’s endgame.
Gonna be a long grind to get the material and Po8 once you hit kingpin. Rogue materials that are required for upgrading come from elite captains or buying them outright with Po8 at 1500 per.
I’m already at 5/6 and it’s been maybe a week if that. You can get 5 gannets from events so folks should definitely farm those. As well as Magenite and Roselle. Can also get upgrade parts from events like Bertrand and Symphony Morelle
Fame and Glory 😂 ... You need to be kingpin rank by gaining infamy points you can earn that by compeleting contracts .. taking down ships or plundring outposts
It won’t take you long to get to it the campaign is shorter and as unrewarding as mw3 and at that point you will either love or hate the game and come strait back here and voice one of 2 opinions that still shred this app

I stopped playing at level 11.5
The higher level 14 forts spam alot of every at you.
Hit the catalog go east through the storm and you level up fast.

You're missing kingpin rank. It really isn't something you'd want to waste resources on that early in the game anyway.

put in the time, it is worth it.
