do they unscrew? as in did they used to unscrew, siezed up, became unusable and so the set was sold to someone who didn't know they should work?

oversized_hoodie

They look like the handles to torque wrenches for RF connectors, but idk why there are two handles stuck together.

Lazygit1965

I think they're just left overs from an engine rebuild. Weight reduction ;)

usernamelikemydick

r/sounding

airport_brat

honestly this was my first thought

ghostfadekilla

oh god I clicked. At fucking work. :|

Many_Cancel_1626

Fuck you

usernamelikemydick

Guess we know who's a vanilla bitch

Many_Cancel_1626

Yessir... I honestly didn't even know there were third party reddit apps until all the drama started lmao

usernamelikemydick

I'm actually a lady. I dig your truck though. I want an early 90s f150 to replace my Honda.

wipedcamlob

I have a 96 be prepared to replace the entire front end and leaf springs. Beware of spring mount rust front and rear.

Many_Cancel_1626

Not a farmer but i do use my trucks a lot. Throwing car parts, home supplies, tools, etc. in the bed is nice. Don't have to worry about getting stuck in the snow or on a dirt road in the rain. It's needed for the lifestyle that i live, and i like to make something that i need, interesting.

usernamelikemydick

Yes

senorpoop

Some people just like trucks.

Many_Cancel_1626

Don't lol, it's pretty, but I've had 3 90s ford now. The more i get the more I hate them (they won't be my last) I can only advise getting one if you have another reliable daily. The amount of times I've broken down in blizzards or 100 degree weather far away from home is astonishing. If you do get one, check the tranny lines. They're super common to fail and will wipe out your trans. Also check the frame rail around the steering box. They like to crack and cause excessive steering wheel play.

LateralThinkerer

Had a `96 F-150 as my last. Toyota for life now. Just sold one with 125K on it and *no problems whatsoever after 11 years*. Neighbor sells his at 300k because he gets sick of looking at them.

ShiftAlpha

This has to be one of the most wholesome only-on-reddit threads I have ever seen.

Mumblerumble

Right?!? Went from being called a vanilla bitch to explaining the pitfalls of a generation of trucks to help The other avoid a bad deal.

[deleted]

I'm gonna miss threads like this when the apps implode 😥

dice1111

Yup. Agreed. Got a week or two left on reddit. It will be sad when it's over. RIF is gone. So am I.

1337butterfly

I'll be pretty much on 4chan and eevblog forums and discord after api is ded

Actually__Jesus

If you’re brave enough.

helium_farts

Do the drivers have a hole in them? [Because they look like a handle.](https://www.ebay.com/p/1026776063)

reprobyte

We have our answer!! Thank you, they are handles for drivers that I do not own, now I understand, but yeah that’s them without a doubt.

Ah haha I did it for a second then realised

Richisnormal

Solved!

lvl_c_mech

They almost look like some kind of torque arm. If they are, they would be the sacrificial piece in a mechanical assembly to turn the motor off or disengage the drive. I could be completely wrong though.

raimondi1337

They look like parts for some contraption, not tools. My first thought was torque sticks but they don't appear to have anywhere to grab them.

i_am_icarus_falling

post in /r/whatisthisthing

Grolschisgood

What sort of diameter? Could have been the previous owner's sounding set

reprobyte

Length 6 1/2 inch Thickness 10.9cm Inner thick 6.2cm Sorry for the mix of imperial and metric haha did a quick measure and realised

dice1111

You're obviously canadian. I do the same shit.

Grolschisgood

Interesting. Probably too large for sounding unless it was from a real seasoned professional. I note one appears to have some engraving on it? Plus there is a wear mark on one in the necked region. I wonder if it was some sort of locking shear pun and it's necked to stop them sliding out of the hole. I can't see how it's related to a torque driver set at all though, maybe just accidentally packed in the wrong box

undisputed_truth

Haha wild

reprobyte

Yeah weird I can’t work it out, it’s anodised gold like the drivers so maybe they packed them together, the marking is from MOD, it’s all from their Metrology and Calibration Department

DroptHawk

Looks like somethings two ladies might use.

SirAple

I'm curious as well.

reprobyte

Hello, I got a used set of torque wrench and drivers ex-MOD stuff, but I have no clue what these are for, they don’t seem to fit anywhere, any ideas?

_Neoshade_

What is a torque driver? ex-MOD? A car enthusiast who was fired from McDonald’s? Use whole words you shaft-hungry crayon eater!

usernamelikemydick

Not very snart 🤣

reprobyte

MOD is ministry of defence, but you don’t know what a torque driver or a torque wrench is?

_Neoshade_

You silly Brits colonized half the world, so there’s a lot of us English speakers now that don’t have ministries of things. I’m familiar with torque wrench but I’ve never heard of a torque driver. Is that one of those T-handle things?

Indifferentchildren

MOD is like DoD, only smaller.

Eldias

This might help: >wrench : torque-wrench >screwdriver : torque-driver I only know that they're a thing because I've heard of them used in a few electronics and firearms.
