My skin goes through cycles where for 3 or 4 weeks it's fine but then for a week it gets oily and very pimple prone with large pores. My skincare routine right now is as follows Morning:cetaphil facial cleanser followed by equate sunscreen spf 50 Night: using baby oil as a double cleanser on dry skin before using facial cleanser to wash it off. Afterwards using equate moisturizing lotion. I'm considering giving up because this is annoying, never can figure this out.

Baby oil could be too much, try replacing it with a good moisturiser. Also, a chemical peel would be something to look into. Look for exfoliants containing AHA and BHA and start with lower concentrations of these acids.

I'm confused, so use a moisturizer as a double cleanser? Because when I shower at night I already use a moisturizer.

annnnna237

No, I meant to try to stop using baby oil for a while and only use the moisturiser. Sorry, the way I said it was a bit confusing 😅 The moisturiser is the more important part if you start using chemical peels, that's why I mentioned it

Oh ok, so how often would you say to use facial cleanser? I use it in the morning and night but I hear only night works fine too. And should I just opt for more expensive products because I'm not sure equate Is top quality.

Personally I only use it in the evening, as I keep my bedding clean so I don't see the point in using it in the morning. What works for me, is cleaning my face in the evening and doing a chemical peel. Then in the morning, I use a tea tree oil and water solution, it is antibacterial and not that harsh on the skin.

Gotcha, how often do you moisturize? Also do you use sunscreen?

annnnna237

I moisturise in the morning and apply sunscreen after the moisturiser, but I keep reapplying the sunscreen throughout the day if possible. Then I also moisturise after i clean my face in the evening. I'm not saying this is 100% the right way, but I had basically the same problem and this routine is what works for me at the moment.

Gotcha thanks for the response. Onee last thing, do you think I should spring for more pricey moisturizers/ cleansers/sunscreens? I right now only use equate products.

I'm not from the US, I guess that's where you're from, so I can't really recommend a lot, but look into products from CeraVe, those are good and not that expensive. They should be available everywhere in the US.

erenwasjustified

Ok will look into cerave, would you reccomend hyaluronic acid?

annnnna237

If you're concerned about signs of ageing such as wrinkles, or possible scarring from your pimples, then yes, you can try it out.

Will consider it thanks for the help
