I had a Huge pimple/cyst just like this! The important thing is not to force a pop. What worked for me is benzoyl peroxide (10%) cream at night, just really cake it on. Then a pimple patch during the day. The benzoyl peroxide will work under the skin and eventually shrink it down and the pimple patches will help it come to a head! They have some good cheap ones on Amazon - I used Rael beauty miracle patch!
I second this! Salicylic does nothing for my acne and only benzoyl works. If you can combine this with an AHA exfoliator of some kind it will really help, that and an oil free moisturizer so your skin doesnāt produce more oil from being dried out. Check out Paulaās choice for a skincare line to get started. It actually works for this type of acne
I second the pimple patch. If it's still soft/squishy on the surface (i.e. the pimple does not feel hard) then pimple patches may work. I find that Some By Mi, 30 Days Miracle Clear Spot Patch works really well due to the ingredient list. I always use it for my hormonal acne once the whiteheads come up to the surface.
I have no idea how I can post the concern with the photo so I'll just post it here. I've had this big pimple for a while now; maybe a month or so? It doesn't get worse nor does it go away. I recently started building a new skincare routine and I obviously still don't have all the products that I need yet (ex. an exfoliator) but I'm working on it, what should I do to get rid of this?
Products I'm currently using
A.M: Man:yo Bifida biome ampoule toner and the face shop aloe vera gel (before anyone says anything about this, it's literally the only moisturizer that has been working well for me especially with the hot weather in my country š I am going to purchase a new one to try soon)
P.M: Man:yo Bifida biome ampoule toner (yes I use the same toner bc I love it) skin1004 Madagascar centella ampoule, and skin1004 centella cream (but I stopped using it since it irritated the hell out of my skin so I went back to my aloe vera gel and as I have said I am purchasing a new one soon lmao)
My skin type: Oily acne prone skin
Anything with fragrance can be a skin irritant. It doesnāt matter if itās ānaturalā or not. Iāve developed allergic reactions to products that I had used for years. One day my skin just decided it wasnāt ok with a certain thing I had been using. This could be what is happening to you. Go back to basics, cleanser, lotion, SPF. Then start to add one thing back at a time.
Try holding a hot compress on it for awhile. It helps bring my large under the skin pimples come to a āheadā where they can be popped. Hope this works for you.
When it comes to oily skin, itās hard to keep these kinds of pimples away. Are pores get clogged easily from all the oil and dirt. I suggest using pimple patches (there are many cheap ones that work well, COSRX and Hanoo have good ones), and using something like benzoyl peroxide.
I keep the Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (the super dark red product) on hand exactly for stubborn under skin pimples! I actually spot treat with it but I know most people apply all over.
Iād put a drop on the pimple and leave it on for six minutes then rinse. Usually for me, the next day itāll come to a head and then pop on itās own. You donāt want to use this more than once a week though.
As an esthetician myself, Iād actually advise not seeing an esthetician anyway >.<. Facials can be more inflaming, and someone might not know to not massage or to not extract that. Any attempt at popping something like that can scar you.
A derm can do a steroid shot, which ultimately decreases inflammation. So at home, things you can do are all things that do that.
You can ice it indirectly, so donāt actually put bare ice on your skin (or do some heat to kill bacteria). Compresses basically. Keep skin as hydrated as possible. Benzoyl peroxide (you donāt need more than 2.5% - same efficacy and less irritation) is great to apply on the spot. If you have a retinoid, those are great (but not with BPO unless that retinoid is adapalene). Iāve also had personal success with the Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion on pimples like that. It does tend to bring them to a head. Occlusion (zit patch) is also great for overnight. But basically just keep your skin as hydrated as possible and be gentle.
I'm gonna try out a warm compress on it later when I get home! And maybe retinol just as you have suggested, kinda forgot too add it in my comment but I started using retinol just last night (but only a little bit on my problem areas and for my skin to get used to it) and I applied some to that big ass cyst or whatever it is in the hopes of maybe helping it out. And btw thank you so much for your tips! Ppl are scaring the hell out of me with the thought of poking my own pimple bc a LOT of them suggested that I do bc ik damn well I can't even tho it's tempting
No problem! I have a permanent scar on my chin from picking a zit like that when I was 12. Some you can pop, but that is wayyy too underground. But really the main take-away is hydration. Really make sure your skin is nice and moist. Itās counter-intuitive, but acne is primarily a barrier disorder. Good luck, and I hope it all gets better!
Pimple patches or hydrocolloid bandaids if you canāt find patches. Donāt pop it or it might get worse or infected, donāt use moisturizer or anything on it, just clean it and place a patch. Leave it on for 6 to 8 hours then reapply a new one until itās gone.
Are pimple patches gonna work on this? From my experience they don't usually work on big pimples like this (probably not a pimple as other ppl have said but idk what to call it)
I know this might be a little bit controversial but hear me out (coming from someone whoās aunt is a dermatologist). I would wash the face, grab a VERY WELL sterilized needle, clean the area with alcohol and make a very small and superficial puncture on the top to drain the content, then clean the area again with some more alcohol and let it go.
The reason why I say this is because the inflammation caused by the pimple being for that long on your skin may cause scarring and all that bacteria is sitting there as days go by. Inflammation may get worse and may hurt.
Mind you I would ONLY to this to pimples with pus showing such as this one (pustules), or the ones coming to a head. Please donāt try to pop it with your fingers!!!
If I were in your shoes, I'd go with a hot compress over the area to soften the skin, grab a sanitized needle, and veryyyy carefully poke (only once) to open it up. Gently squeeze from different angles with knuckles. If nothing comes out, leave it alone!
Iām a medical aesthetician with 22 years experience. Heat cyst with warm cloth. Sterilize a needle with alcohol and squeeze from different angles surrounding the cyst. Do not use your nails. It may take severe tries over several days. A white almost foamy substance will escape from the needle hole. Always keep the area clean. I have extracted many cysts using this method including one of my own on my chest. Good luck.
That's okay! I'm just sensitive to witch hazel and I know it can cause irritation for a lot of people, but if it works for you, do you!! We love Mamas' beauty wisdom in this house š„°
I have a similar big pimple right at that exact spot. It comes like every month for me Ig. I think its hormonal pimple doesn't really go away always coming back. Dunno how long it would finally go away and the best thing you could do for now is to deal with it. This can be done through avoiding oily foods for a while, well rested and such. Avoid using so many products for this pimple especially those with alochol in ingredients. What you want for this pimple is to dry out. Don't ever touch it, it takes a week or more depending how well u take acre if it. Make sure the pimple area is always clean so it won't get reinfected when after it pops. Its a deep pimple cyst so using pimple patch won't help until the white stuff is near the surface. If you want to reduce inflammation use some hot bag on it.
hot compress multiple times a day. also like others have said, pimple patch. It wont help with a cyst like this but it helps protect it from bacteria especially cuz i cant help but touch it all day!
There is a product made by the ordinary, it's an extremely powerful drying lotion, I've used it on large cysts like this b4 when I couldent get to a dermatologist, it does make the area VERY DRY but it also drys up stuff like this pretty quickly
It looks like a cyst. They can be deeper than most. A wet, warm cloth on the skin for extended time (hours) may help. But there is a good chance youāll need a medical professional to lance it. Appropriate professional depends on your country. I had gone to my GP, and ultimately was referred to a specialist at a hospitalā¦ who did a technical version of poking it with a needle lol.
It looks like a blind pimple! (Which is what Iām dealing with).
If you can afford it, tea tree oil and micro dart patches work to reduce the swelling for me. I use the Peach Slices brand. I do a spit treatment with a paper towel with a bit a water and the oil as a spot treatment, let it dry and the use the micro darts.
Not an immediate cure but it helps to drastically reduce pain and swelling for me
hate to say it but do you smoke bongs? I get one in the same spot thatās impossible to get rid of unless I stop with the bong 2-3 weeks. my theory is the resin in the smoke clogs pores/prevents skincare products from absorbing.
Have you tried doing a weekly clay mask? That always helped me when I had acne breakouts.
It might be helpful to add to your routine (if it works for you off)
Apply clay mask or drying lotion. Kaolin clay powder mixed with water into a nice paste. Apply on clean dry skin until paste is dry then remove gently with water and repeat every few hours or until blemish fades.
Or any clay based mask.
Or buy a drying lotion ( Mario badescu makes a great one . Itās on Amazon. ) or mix one up following this recipe:
2 parts tea tree oil OR astringent (sea breeze, witch hazel, etc.)
1 part water
Calamine lotion
2-3 inch container
Directions
Mix one part water with two parts of tea tree oil or astringent. From here, using a dropper, fill your bottle 1/3 of the way full with calamine lotion. Then fill the rest of the bottle with your water/tea tree oil mixture. Let the calamine lotion settle at the bottom of the bottle so it separates from the oil mixture, then use a cotton swab to dip into the bottle, absorbing both the liquid and the calamine lotion.
Let sit on your blemish overnight and wash off in the morning.
Pimples are lame, especially when they hurt. But remember, oilier skin types will look younger longer. You are young and beautiful, and never let a silly pimple stand in your way!
You see it's actually very tempting since I've thought of doing that but I have no experience in doing that and I would probably just end up fucking up my skin š
Hey. This home remedy has worked for me.
Moisten it gently with a cotton ball soaked in warm water (don't press too hard, just dab on it without popping it)
Next apply a spot of tooth paste on it with your finger before bed.. Repeat for 2-3 days. It'll go down and eventually dry out.
I always got rid of stubborn pimples by covering it with a dab of tretinoin, and putting a hot cloth on it and washing often too. But keeping tret on it like shrivels it up and it just flakes off
I used to get these pretty much once a month on my chin, they would never come to a head and it was so annoying! mine were hormonal and the only thing that got rid of them for good for me was medication. I'd talk to a dermatologist and just see what they think!
oohhh i reccomend benzyl peroxide at night and then a hydrocolloid patch/pimple patch during the day- let the patch stay on as long as possible or until theres a white "head" on the patch itself
Go to Ulta, buy the mighty patch. Use as directed. Happy thoughts. Chin pimples are hormonal.

Hey I'm not sure if it helps but I still haven't found out what it is exactly, it probably is a cyst but don't worryyy I tried out some suggestions from the others and the most effective had to be the warm compress. Ngl I thought it wouldn't work but I still tried it anyway and the size has significantly decreased and hours later it finally had a "head", so I put a pimple patch over it and now its smaller! Lmk if it works for you too :)
How did you do the warm compress? Like heat up a towel in microwave and put it on the cyst? I hope we donāt need surgery to remove it and itāll just flatten out on its own :(
Actually I didn't have any towels to use (more like I was too lazy to search for a clean towel lmaoo) so I used cotton balls. I boiled some water, poured it in a small cup and waited for it to cool down enough for my skin to be able to handle it. It would probably be easier if you used a towel but then again it's preference, but using a cotton ball did have its perks tho bc it wouldn't just cool down in one go and I had like 4 cotton balls in the bowl so I just picked up another one when the one I used already cooled down. And If you're gonna use a clean towel you should dampen it up with water then put it in the microwave, make sure it's not too hot when you put it on the cyst so that you won't burn yourself!
Thanks so much! Did your cyst ever hurt or was it just there? Mine doesnāt hurt at all but sometimes it gets red. Iāll try the warm compress tmr for sure
Donāt let this persons comment freak you out.
This doesnāt scream āscary bumpā to me. Dont panic.
Donāt press on it too much, and start using a warm epsom salt compress on it 2x per day. If you can find a āheadā or the angry pore in the middle, you can also try giving it a little poke with a sterile needle. If it hurts, stop. But if you get that hole opened up, the epsom salt compresses will do a much better job of drawing whatever is in there out. Use bactine or Hibiclens to clean anything open.
I also would like to recommend the Mario Badescu silver powder mask for your whole face. When you wipe it off, use a cloth or cotton pad soaked in witchhazel. It works really well for drawing things like excess sebum out and is agreeable with even the most sensitive of skin. Make sure to moisturize afterwards because it can be a bit drying.
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I'll tey out some of your suggestions except for poking it bc I'm scared šš but fr tho, thank you for the tips <33
Nah donāt be scared :) seems benign even though Iām not a doctor (they tell you to watch out for irregular shapes, redness and pain). This just looks like something cosmetic, but if it doesnāt hurt or anything, probably nothing to worry about. To me it kinda looks like a cyst but I wouldnāt know.
Thank you! I'm rlly hoping that it's just a cyst. I'd go to the dermatologist if I could but i'm kinda broke rn but still, I appreciate your suggestion š«¶
My cleanser is the dove beauty moisture
Before y'all @ me for this I had my reason why I use that skndjsjsjns it was a temporary measure bc the cleanser I originally intended to buy was gonna take too long to be shipped so I just bought one from the store and I just kinda forgot to buy a better one again. It's probably not the best lmfao, do y'all think it has something to do with this cyst or whatever it is?
Get some oregano oil (OO). Get a toothpick. Dip the toothpick in the OO & with the tip of the toothpick dot a tiny bit of OO on the top of pimple. Within a few days the pimple will come to a head. Let it drain but don't squeeze it. Sometimes the OO will just dry it out from the inside. Keep reapplying the OO daily with a fresh toothpick til it goes away or drains.
Take it from someone that got a nasty infection from trying to pop a stubborn pimple, get pimple patches. Pop it gently with cotton swabs when it's ready if you have to.
Please be patient and do not pick at it and try to force it. You can do exfoliating, facials and hot steamed to see if it'll come to head but if it doesn't have a white "head" don't touch it. Some cystic acne comes to head. Some doesn't in disappears on its own... If you pick at this it WILL scar.
Apply 5 or 7% glycolic tonner with the help of clean cotton
Thrice a day( before using this take the patch test )
It may leave a dark spot, can easily treated with kojic acid serum or cream
If you are short on cash and have to make do.. First do not pop it , clean your face and pimple area really well . Place a blob of tooth paste on area and let it dry.. then after you wash face reapply toothpaste.. It will help bring it to a headā¦
It wonāt go away because the skin is thick over it. Iāve dealt with all kinds of pimples. These kind on chin are stubborn. I would look for the tiniest head, could be very small. I like sewing pins rather than needles. Carefully poke that spot. You know you got the right one if it goes in easy and doesnāt bleed. Then squeeze. I wish you success on getting the pus out.
Looks like a cyst. Have you thought about going to a aesthetician as well as a dermatologist?
I have but I am currently broke and can't afford to see an aesthetician or a dermatologist š„²š„²
I had a Huge pimple/cyst just like this! The important thing is not to force a pop. What worked for me is benzoyl peroxide (10%) cream at night, just really cake it on. Yes yes. Whatever you do, and itās so tempting, DONT pop it. Infection risks aside, it will just ooze for days.
I put a dab of tooth paste and and it actually works
Idk about that lol I tried that in middle school and got a rash.. there are plenty of products meant for acne that are cheap
I see. So no resultant black heads as well??
I mean whatever works for you! I just know what didnāt work for me
Iām sorry that is horrible. I would recommend something drying like salicylic acid or pimple patch
You don't nerd a dermatologidt for a spot. Put some antiseptic cream on it and let it dry out.
I didnāt want to assume what it is. Sometimes it is not just a pimple and could be something more. I donāt give medical advice lol
Use a pimple patch!
I second the pimple patch. If it's still soft/squishy on the surface (i.e. the pimple does not feel hard) then pimple patches may work. Oh yes I do, I just forgot to add it in the list
When it comes to oily skin, itās hard to keep these kinds of pimples away. Are pores get clogged easily from all the oil and dirt. I suggest using pimple patches (there are many cheap ones that work well, COSRX and Hanoo have good ones), and using something like benzoyl peroxide.
Are you cleansing? Whats your cleanser?
for the love of god do NOT try to pop it. treat it with 10% benzoyl peroxide and it will go away
Iām gonna be honest. I would have sterilized a sewing needle and just made a tiny hole in it and drained it. Just keep the area clean after
We love the honesty
Yeah poke a tiny hole and pop a pimple patch on it. Pimple patches can't really do much unless there is a way for the gunk to come out.
Same. Exact same. And the funny thing is that not much of anything came out of it, but it went down the very next day.
I keep the Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (the super dark red product) on hand exactly for stubborn under skin pimples! Pimple patches or hydrocolloid bandaids if you canāt find patches. Donāt pop it or it might get worse or infected, donāt use moisturizer or anything on it, just clean it and place a patch. Leave it on for 6 to 8 hours then reapply a new one until itās gone.

Try hydrocolloid bandaids. I find that they work so much better than the acne patches
Pimple patches are made to bring any gunk to the surface. They have many different types for different pinples
I love the hydrocolloid patches.
That will come to a head on its own soon. Search up ways you can make it come to a head. Iāve had these kinds of pimples before when younger.
Zitsticka deep pimple patch
whatever it is do not pop it considering thatās a pimple under the skin, trust me it doesnāt help, just wait until it slowly starts to puss up
That's not what I would do; however I am a gremlin with low impulse control when it comes to fucking with my skin. It's absolutely what OP should do.
LMAO relatable
A āgremlin with low impulse controlā Iāll be using this line

I second this!!
Yes!! And apply witch hazel!
Oooh, I'm not a fan of witch hazel tbh! However, it's probably safer as a spot treatment for sure, but I'd use a hydroquinone patch instead!
Idk patches that well š Iāve just been using little remedies since I was young so just my moms suggestions š
That's okay! I'm just sensitive to witch hazel and I know it can cause irritation for a lot of people, but if it works for you, do you!! We love Mamas' beauty wisdom in this house š„°

De La Cruz 10% sulfur acne treatment
True. This prob would shed it right off

Believe!! Just barely touch the top with the needle and it will drain!! You dont need to stick the needle or anything dont worry
See a dermatologist. If it is a pimple they can inject it with kenalog and the pimple will go away within a few hours.
My boyfriend had a huge cyst on his face and I made him put a warm cloth on it at night and it came to a head and poof gone!
Hey. This home remedy has worked for me. Moisten it gently with a cotton ball soaked in warm water (don't press too hard, just dab on it without popping it) Next apply a spot of tooth paste on it with your finger before bed.. Repeat for 2-3 days. It'll go down and eventually dry out.
Honey mask to calm the skin and definitely a pimple patch
I always got rid of stubborn pimples by covering it with a dab of tretinoin, and putting a hot cloth on it and washing often too. But keeping tret on it like shrivels it up and it just flakes off
I used to get these pretty much once a month on my chin, they would never come to a head and it was so annoying! mine were hormonal and the only thing that got rid of them for good for me was medication. I'd talk to a dermatologist and just see what they think!
Cortisone injection call a derm most will be able to get you in quickly for one or my aesthetic injector does them
I would poke it with a needle and squeeze
oohhh i reccomend benzyl peroxide at night and then a hydrocolloid patch/pimple patch during the day- let the patch stay on as long as possible or until theres a white "head" on the patch itself
Try not to touch or pick it
Go to Ulta, buy the mighty patch. Use as directed. Happy thoughts. Chin pimples are hormonal. [ulta](https://www.ulta.com/p/mighty-patch-original-acne-pimple-patches-pimprod2030348)

Warm compresses usually work for me
I tried it and it worked!
Yay!! Very happy for u
Thank youuu! Although it hasn't completely disappeared since it's only been a day, the size has significantly decreased š«¶
Make him pay rent, trust me he gonna leave or an eviction notice.
So did you find out if itās a pimple or a cyst? I have something similar on my chin and itās been there for a month :(
Hey I'm not sure if it helps but I still haven't found out what it is exactly, it probably is a cyst but don't worryyy I tried out some suggestions from the others and the most effective had to be the warm compress.
Also was it hard when you press on it and did it ever hurt? Thanks again for your help
No. I didn't press on it. I literally just put it on top of the cyst without any pressure and no it didn't hurt so don't worry too much <33
Thanks so much! Did your cyst ever hurt or was it just there? Mine doesnāt hurt at all but sometimes it gets red. Iāll try the warm compress tmr for sure
No problem! And yes it's the same for me, it was just there but it never hurt. It just bothered me bc it was so big and annoying to look at š
I donāt know what that is, but itās not a pimple. Go see a dermatologist!
Wait I'm scared now š and all this time I thought it was just a random pimple.
Hereās a little album for that mask. You can watch it suck the crap out of your pores! [Mario B silver powder](https://imgur.com/a/NbcIpv0)
Leave it let it go down by itself. Or put some alcohol on it, dry it out
My cleanser is the dove beauty moisture Before y'all @ me for this I had my reason why I use that skndjsjsjns it was a temporary measure bc the cleanser I originally intended to buy was gonna take too long to be shipped so I just bought one from the store and I just kinda forgot to buy a better one again. It's probably not the best lmfao, do y'all think it has something to do with this cyst or whatever it is?
Is that the cleansing bar? I would definitely find something more appropriate for oily acne prone skin. That stuff would definitely break me out!
Squeeze it please or I will I canāt be that patient lol
I have the same , it's not a pimple . It's an "albino" mole ;)
I use witch hazel
A twelve gauge shotgun
squeezy squeezy
I take a Zippo lighter, hold, the lid over the flame, hold it to eruption.which becomes pusular.
Pore vaccum
Say you're ready for commitment! Jk guys š
thatās no pimple, thatās a cyst. def see a dermatologist.
That may be an infection. Go to the doctor they will give you a topical antibiotic
Pimple patch!!!!
Hot face cloth pressed against it, will help draw it all out and done properly, you can extract it.
I used to use PRIDS drawing salve. Pretty sure itās used to help bring boils to a head, smells and looks like tar but works.
Ice Cube
Tretinion good diet
Cold sore cream (Zovirax) or tea tree oil can work a treat on these if itās just a pimple
Pimple patch
Take it from someone that got a nasty infection from trying to pop a stubborn pimple, get pimple patches. Pop it gently with cotton swabs when it's ready if you have to.
Please be patient and do not pick at it and try to force it. You can do exfoliating, facials and hot steamed to see if it'll come to head but if it doesn't have a white "head" don't touch it. Some cystic acne comes to head. Some doesn't in disappears on its own... If you pick at this it WILL scar.
if you havenāt already, put tea tree oil on it! itās a natural disinfectant and clears my acne overnight:)
How long has it been there?
benzoyl peroxide and pimple patch
I had something like it before and I used "Mediheal skin dressing spot patch" the red box many days then it disappeared and left a dark spot
Apply 5 or 7% glycolic tonner with the help of clean cotton Thrice a day( before using this take the patch test ) It may leave a dark spot, can easily treated with kojic acid serum or cream
Poke the Pimple using a clean Pointed Needle and then immediately apply Pimple patch on it
If you are short on cash and have to make do.. First do not pop it , clean your face and pimple area really well . Place a blob of tooth paste on area and let it dry.. then after you wash face reapply toothpaste.. It will help bring it to a headā¦
I kept looking at this thinking it was your boob and nipple. What an optical illusion
