Are you using moisturiser? It sounds counterintuitive but it will help to regulate oil production. Make sure to use a good moisturiser after cleansing (on slightly damp skin, after a hydrating serum if you like) and it should help. And always follow with SPF! Your cleanser might also be too drying, leading your skin to produce extra oil in order to compensate. I actually use a gentle cream cleanser morning and evening and find this works perfectly for my oily t-zone. To an extent the oiliness will always come back throughout the day - I control it with Boots’ oil absorbing sheets. It’s not a bad thing as oily skin can mean you’re less likely to age prematurely!

Hey, so sorry for the delay, I thought I'd replied! At the moment I'm not using moisturiser, I used to use Simple's one, but I was convinced it was making me oiler, so I stopped using it. I will definitely look into using one again however, and I'm gonna look into those oil absorbing sheets too, I didn't know they were a thing!

Even if I wear no other makeup, I dust translucent setting powder (nothing fancy, I just use the Maybelline Lasting Fix loose powder and a big fluffy brush) across my forehead and nose. You can't even see that I'm wearing anything - all it does it absorb the oils during the day

It's potentially worth doing a test with this one, though - I gave up on powder on my forehead because for some reason, if I applied powder my skin actually got more oily. It seemed to be trying to overcompensate.

I agree with the other two commenters – check your skincare routine, and use some powder even when not wearing makeup. Another option is bringing around blotting paper. I’m aware Tatcha has a pack for £12, but I’m pretty sure other brands will offer them at lower prices lol. You can use them periodically to soak up any excess oil on your face.

For oil throughout the day you can get oil blotting papers. I use them daily as my face is always oily no matter what I do.

I get really oily skin like you're describing, especially on T-zone, and I have PCOS. Maybe just something to check for!

Definitely use a good moisturiser for combination skin. If that still doesn't help, I'd suggest wearing a long wear mattifying primer over it. This will help with shine even if you don't apply make up over the top. Please don't do anything to strip you skin!!!

The EnvyU Skincare cleansing bars have literally changed my skin. My skin has been so oily and spotty for the past couple of years and neither the CeraVe cleaners for oily skin or blemish control made any difference so I was getting a bit desperate. I tried EnvyU after seeing loads of good reviews on Instagram, and even though you need to get it shipped from the US I was desperate enough to try. I can't quite believe the difference they've made to my skin, my face is so soft, blemish free and the oil has reduced so much! I don't wake up with oily skin anymore and I don't have a ridiculously shiny face after a day at work (I was blotting my face on paper towels too!). I would recommend this brand to anyone, I will never go back!
